I've literally laid in the car where the bed will be and did gymnastic to get myself into the back passenger seat (think reverse curl/crunch over the head) and then squatted over the floorboard to see if it was doable, cuz this girl has to go pee at last a couple of times a night. I think I've found a solution but I still need to test it out. More to come. Am I gonna have to do another "pee" video??? lol I think so.

I haven’t found a toilet small enough for the spot in front of the left back seat because I also wake up at night 🤣 And working on a way to get myself from bed to the drivers seat in case I need to make a quick get away. I’m 5’8” and have a crap knee 😆. So I practice in my garage I have a little poodle and he loves it. ❤️

I have been doing the keto lifestyle for 3 years now and I have lost 50 pounds, reversed my diabetes and put my autoimmune disease into remission. I swear by this way of eating and it's a lifestyle for me now not just a diet. I hope you have great success with it!!! . 😀❤
From a person who has been towing many trailers for over 30 years …never go by the book tow rating. Take at least a third off that rating especially if pulling in mountains. I’d check out forums on that vehicle and see what other people who have towed with it say. It’s more than engine size… your transmission is vital. I had an suv only a week old blow it’s tranny pulling a 3,300 lb trailer on level ground within 10 miles. It was rated to tow 5,000 lb. I talked to the head mechanic and he said not surprised as I was not the first. I recommend solid sided pop ups like the Aliner or Chalet trailers. With driving they are more stable being low and you are now in a much shorter wheelbase vehicle than the van.

You're gonna love it!! I've been car camping for several years around the Pacific Northwest since getting my 2019 Subaru Crosstrek and it's been a blast. There are a number of Subaru car camping communities you can join where they share how they modify their rigs and the various things they buy for car camping. I did a temporary mod by laying some plywood in the back over the folded down seats to go over the crack. Added a thick memory foam pad, 32 degree sleeping bag, extra blankets and pillows. It has worked well for me. There are lots of videos out there about Subaru car camping.
Congratulations on the new Subaru! I have a Subaru Crosstrek and outfitted it for car camping. Spent a whole week in Quartzsite this past January. I do have a tent that I used for dressing and my bathroom and storage of food etc. I was very comfortable!

I’ve got a 2019 Outback I’ve been getting ready for car camping, been waiting for it to cool off some especially at night . I’m excited to see what you do, I’ve got the basic stuff and have decided I don’t want a build, rather have more headroom but I’ve got a trifold mattress which is comfy and starting our with an Igloo cooler but will get a fridge if I really like this way of camping. The Subaru car camping group has been very helpful as you know! Hope to meet you out on the road one of these days.
@Gypsy218 😊 I agree having the headroom is better and I'm thinking of a trifold mattress too. I bought one that was 3 inches and it was awful. Didn't plump up to 3 inches so I sent it back. Thanks for the video. Just bought my 2024 Outback and I am slowly buying things to go car camping next Spring. Bought 4" foam mattress, wool blankets, Cargo box, mesh window covers for ventilation, cooler, fan, nightlite, and will be buying a 20x40 table to put under my memory foam to level it out and have a pull out table when needed. Will wait for Black Friday to see if I can get a better deal on the weather tech car shades. I am hoping to do a lot of White Mountains in NH and even try to drive uo to Lubec Maine to cross over to Campobello Island across from Lubec in Canada. Been wanting to try this for 4 years and now I bought a new Subaru there is no excuse.

I'm getting closer and closer to getting a minivan and starting my own van travels (and vlogs) with my cat! I have been stuck since February w/no vehicle and it was NOT by choice...it's been so long since I've hit the road...I can't wait! I'm hoping to make it to Quartzsite this January...so excited and hopeful that I will meet some other youtubers! Congrats! The Exped MegaMat 10 (medium wide) fits PERFECTLY on the wider side of the folded split rear seat. Ironically my Weathertech shades for the Outback just arrived this afternoon as part of downsizing from towing a Tab 320. Be very careful stuffing anything by the Eyesight cameras, you can knock that system out of alignment!

Congratulations. My husband and I just bought a Subaru Outback Touring XT in Autumn green with a brown interior...very similar to yours. We've had it 16 days. Our trusted 2017 Volvo V90 wagon was totaled on October 30th when a teenaged girl rear ended my husband while he was stopped, waiting to make a left turn. Luckily, no one was hurt. But, our Volvo was destroyed. We wanted a car with color instead of white, black, grey, or silver. So, we ordered exactly what we wanted and then waited for it to arrive. We're loving it so far.

Well I'm not on the road yet unfortunately three months ago I was diagnosed with malignant Melanoma under my left arm so they're trying using infusion treatments to shrink the tumor and then they'll operate and so maybe by after the first of the year or next spring I'll be able to get on the road. Side effects are minimal I'm just tired and I have a little pain in the tumor but not nothing that I can't handle. I am planning on using a minivan and I'm going to get one of those extend the rooms that you put off the back end of the minivan you could probably get one of them for that and give you more room when you're camping somewhere I like them because they're only a couple $100. Well as always stay safe, stay strong, stay healthy, God bless and enjoy life because you never know.✌✌💪👏🎅🚌🌻👍

There's 2 things I would do, buy a jackery type house battery, but make sure it can be used while charging. I made that mistake. Make or buy screens for the moon roof and windows. It really helps.
I loved NH! I lived in Dover, Portsmouth, Somersworth, and Rochester. I miss it so much. I would have lived there forever, but left to take care of my mom… life changed.

Cannot recommend enough an exped self inflated mattress (REI) have had it for 3 years, super comfortable and durable, well insulated. Have enjoyed your videos!
Amber, I’m a solo female camper also, and I got a bunkhouse camper/trailer to pull behind my CRV. It is made for a motorcycle but it is perfect for me. It folds out to be huge. I love mine. Just a thought for ya. 👍🏻

I was just checking if you posted anything. I figured you are just happy in your new life. I tried actually full time hotel life instead of vanlife due to health limitations and I did not like it, I hated it. After a while I got depressed and now I rented an apartment again in my beautiful Bellingham, WA and happy to have a place to call home. My corgi got attacked by a pitbull at Best Western hotel in California. He survived, police was called. Anyways, my travelling turned out to be a nightmare, very expensive one too. I am so happy to just have a calm life again, thank God I could afford to buy my life back, some people cannot, it is a one way ticket for those poor souls. I learned my lesson. I remember when you got your rental place in TX I was dissapointed because I wanted more inspiration for vanlife and here you are, got a homebase, it was against my current agenda but I have to accept my limitations and desire to have comforts of my home. I am very happy and now I value what I have. I hope you enjoy your new comfortable stable low stress life.

Please go check out Acony Bell Tiny House Village near Asheville on your way to New Hampshire. That is if you drive to NH. I feel in my heart that Acony Bell is what you are looking for. Asheville is a cool city. Not as hot during the summer too because it’s in the mountains. Watching Georgie enjoy her pup cup is so sweet! My neighbor just rescued a 9 yr old chihuahua mix after she lost her 14 yr old dog. She looks just like Georgie. I commend both of you for rescuing an older dog. I’m going to rescue a senior chihuahua or two when I sell my house. Glad you’re posting again! Miss your beautiful self! ❤

Congrats! The Exped MegaMat 10 (medium wide) fits PERFECTLY on the wider side of the folded split rear seat. Ironically my Weathertech shades for the Outback just arrived this afternoon as part of downsizing from towing a Tab 320. Be very careful stuffing anything by the Eyesight cameras, you can knock that system out of alignment!

Congratulations. My husband and I just bought a Subaru Outback Touring XT in Autumn green with a brown interior...very similar to yours. We've had it 16 days. Our trusted 2017 Volvo V90 wagon was totaled on October 30th when a teenaged girl rear ended my husband while he was stopped, waiting to make a left turn. Luckily, no one was hurt. But, our Volvo was destroyed. We wanted a car with color instead of white, black, grey, or silver. So, we ordered exactly what we wanted and then waited for it to arrive. We're loving it so far.

Well I'm not on the road yet unfortunately three months ago I was diagnosed with malignant Melanoma under my left arm so they're trying using infusion treatments to shrink the tumor and then they'll operate and so maybe by after the first of the year or next spring I'll be able to get on the road. Side effects are minimal I'm just tired and I have a little pain in the tumor but not nothing that I can't handle. I am planning on using a minivan and I'm going to get one of those extend the rooms that you put off the back end of the minivan you could probably get one of them for that and give you more room when you're camping somewhere I like them because they're only a couple $100. Well as always stay safe, stay strong, stay healthy, God bless and enjoy life because you never know.✌✌💪👏🎅🚌🌻👍
@Chefsantatravels Oh goodness. I'm so sorry to hear about your diagnosis. It sounds like you're staying very positive which is always a big part of recovery. My best wishes to you and your healing and recovery. I do know what you mean...You do never know. You keep your spirits high and you'll soon be back out there.
There's 2 things I would do, buy a jackery type house battery, but make sure it can be used while charging. I made that mistake. Make or buy screens for the moon roof and windows. It really helps.
I loved NH! I lived in Dover, Portsmouth, Somersworth, and Rochester. I miss it so much. I would have lived there forever, but left to take care of my mom… life changed.

I have a Runaway Rangerunner and it is perfect!!! It is basically a rolling bedroom with A/C.
@RunawaywithShortie 😊 That's kind of what I'm looking for. Something I can fix up myself inside, super basic, and hardly anything that breaks! Having the van taught me that less is more and I hate feeling the pains of electronics and various things breaking or potentially breaking.

@@storychasing super minimalist, but that’s who I am😖very efficient and lightweight. My yeti roadi doubles as a support for my mattress- passenger side, seat stays far forward. Cannot recommend enough an exped self inflated mattress (REI) have had it for 3 years, super comfortable and durable, well insulated. Have enjoyed your videos!

You might want to wait before you tint your windows you may enjoy the sun coming through the windows during the winter in NH , or do a light tint.

Amber, I’m a solo female camper also, and I got a bunkhouse camper/trailer to pull behind my CRV. It is made for a motorcycle but it is perfect for me. It folds out to be huge. I love mine. Just a thought for ya. 👍🏻

@nan---- 😊 Lease expires and it was always temporary. I'm not a huge fan of Texas weather and climate but my family is here so that's why I settled here for a year. I've had the whole year to figure out where to move to and still can't decide. lol

I was just checking if you posted anything. I figured you are just happy in your new life. I tried actually full time hotel life instead of vanlife due to health limitations and I did not like it, I hated it. After a while I got depressed and now I rented an apartment again in my beautiful Bellingham, WA and happy to have a place to call home. My corgi got attacked by a pitbull at Best Western hotel in California. He survived, police was called. Anyways, my travelling turned out to be a nightmare, very expensive one too. I am so happy to just have a calm life again, thank God I could afford to buy my life back, some people cannot, it is a one way ticket for those poor souls. I learned my lesson. I remember when you got your rental place in TX I was dissapointed because I wanted more inspiration for vanlife and here you are, got a homebase, it was against my current agenda but I have to accept my limitations and desire to have comforts of my home. I am very happy and now I value what I have. I hope you enjoy your new comfortable stable low stress life.

Please go check out Acony Bell Tiny House Village near Asheville on your way to New Hampshire. That is if you drive to NH. I feel in my heart that Acony Bell is what you are looking for. Asheville is a cool city. Not as hot during the summer too because it’s in the mountains. Watching Georgie enjoy her pup cup is so sweet! My neighbor just rescued a 9 yr old chihuahua mix after she lost her 14 yr old dog. She looks just like Georgie. I commend both of you for rescuing an older dog. I’m going to rescue a senior chihuahua or two when I sell my house. Glad you’re posting again! Miss your beautiful self! ❤
