Almost all tier 1 law firm come to recruit in GLC apart from nbfc, , tier-2, tier-3 firm and banks like Deutsche Bank and ICICI, companies like Aditya Birla, L & T to name a few. But these opportunities are going to help only those who are actually serious throughout 5 years or atleast towards the last 3 years.
sir why GLC is placed agter tier 2 nlus , as all the top recruiters who go to the top nlus come at GLC , and also its package matches with NLSIU , and top Nlus . It is because of the infrastructure , or faculty . If its about faculty , then BHU has the top faculty for LAW . On what basis is GLC , considered below tier 2 nlus . obliged sir
GLC does not have a hostel of its own, which is a major drawback. The hostel life is a major component of a law school, which is missing. Placements wise, NLUs (Tier-1 and Tier-2) have better and more settled Recruitment and Internship Cells.
Firstly I want to know, who's placing GLCM after T2? Secondly, GLCM doesn't have hostels or mess, so there's no college and hostel life there. That's a deal breaker for many students. Thirdly, the on-campus/Day 0 placements of GLCM are indeed at par with the last T1 NLUs like GNLUG and NLIU because of being located in the heart of India's financial capital, stellar alumni base (even Cyril and Shardul Shroff are GLC graduates), and very good legacy. However, very few of the students sit in the placement drive, as more than half of the batch lands a PPO because of relaxed attendance policy and short classes.

thanks a lot sir! i do have one query. how many seats are allocated for the outside maharashtra open category? some places say it's 25% but some say it's only 15%
In GLC, there are only 10 percent unreserved seats (24) that are given to the outside Maharashtra candidates. 5 percent of the total seats are reserved for the NRI candidates which are given to OMS when they remain vacant.
@@yiykk5813 See if someone has a background in the law field whose parents or someone are already well settled in the field then only they should go for GLC. In GLC there are no regular lectures and most of the students intern for the whole year instead of attending the classes as attendance is not an issue there. And then you may join your parents law firms after graduation as placement won't matter. This is what happens in CET colleges but speaking about NLU, there you would get a proper placement as well as internship from the college itself and they have a special break of 2 months every semester for interning so even if you don't have any connections and all, your college would have your back.
@@yiykk5813But I personally would suggest to blindly go for the NLU Mumbai. As nlu tag matters a lot. Most of the law firms and institutions would hire you just by seeing the NLU tag on your degree
I got CNLU Patna and I'm from Patna so should I consider GLC Mumbai or ILS Pune over CNLU or should I stick with it? In what areas they out perform the other?
CNLU Patna is the last Tier 2 NLU. ILS is better than every Tier 2 NLU. It has a locational advantage (being situated in the middle of Pune). Since it's considered the best Law college in Pune, a lot of Tier 1 Law firms approach it during the placement drive. Due to being a govt-aided college in a city like Pune, Litigation and Judiciary culture is also pretty nice. A lot of students get placed in chambers. A lot of students get PPOs by Tier 1/2 firms as well. The ROI is extremely high as the total fees for the college would only be 7-8 lakhs for the UG LLB Course, which is cheaper than any NLU. GLC Mumbai is arguably at par with the last Tier 1 NLUs ie NLIU Bhopal and GNLU Gandhinagar, but it's a totally different kind of college compared to ILS or NLUs. It has almost 0 attendance policy, and the classes there are usually over in just 3-4 hours. Due to being located in the heart of south Mumbai (Mumbai being the financial capital of India), the students land a lot of PPOs in Tier 1 Law firms. The legacy and alumni of GLC Mumbai is unmatched. It's one the oldest Law colleges in Asia, with alumni like BR Ambedkar, Bal Gangadhar Tilak, Ram Jethmalani, HJ Kania, PN Bhagwati, etc. It even has the original copy of the IPC in its library. Mumbai High Court is a walking distance from GLC so the scene for Judiciary and Litigation is also very bright. Even on-campus placements are extremely good due to its alumni. The owners of the two top Law firms in the country (Shardul and Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas) are GLC Mumbai graduates. However, unlike ILS, GLC Mumbai doesn't have hostels or mess. You can get a hostel at Mumbai University at 10K/year based on the financial capability of your family and the distance from your resident. However, most students would have to stay in PGs or rent apartments. So, keep that in mind. The ROI of GLC is even higher than ILS, as you'd only be paying 6 lakhs (assuming you rent a 1 BHK apartment in that area along with 2 of your friends, or get a PG) in total for your 5 year Law course.
@@krishna_sakhaaa Median package for on-campus placements is 15-16 LPA and 80-85% of students sitting for the placement drive get placed. However, more than half of the batch lands PPOs due to being able to intern in Tier 1 corporate firms for 5 years straight (as a result of the college being in the middle of South Mumbai, shorter classes everyday, and very relaxed attendance policy). Median PPOs pay much higher than median on-campus placements.
