As a late 70s baby, I only found out of this movie through the Public Enemy rap song Burn Hollywood Burn! I went to Blockbuster Video the next day to rent it, and then went down the rabbit hole of Blaxploitation films!!
Fred, Jim Brown,Richard Roundtree, Ali , Pottier,Belefonte, were real gamechangers. For O.M.C. Members like myself these were some of the men that we could enjoy on film and television with the sense of pride we couldn't quite get from Roy Rogers, Kirk, Burt, John and Sean.
I wonder just how many people learned about this movie purely through the Public Enemy track that digged at hollywood back in the day, as hell that's why I'm here right now lol
Black Caesar movie is good with Fred Williamson. I like lightskin black woman in car with Fred. Fred Williamson, Sylvester Stallone, Steven Seagal, Jason Statham, Denzel Washington, Robin Harris(RIP), Bernie Mac(RIP), Bruce Willis, Robert Deniro, Clifton Powell, Cuba Gooding Junior, Wesley Snipes, Charles Bronson(RIP), Clint Eastwood, Caryn Ward are my favorite movie actors.
There were different versions of the Trailer - this one is disjointed- there is a version that flows nicely using James Brown’s “Pays the Cost to be The Boss” and “Down and out in New York City.”
This movie a classic and I’ll rewatch this movie for Fred Williamson just cause he owned this movie everytime he was on screen it was magnificent.

the music kinda sounds like "Purple Haze" by (Jimi) Hendrix.
Meh a little
It's a Purple Haze played backwards ripoff.
I can’t believe y’all don’t know that the one and only JAMES BROWN wrote the soundtrack to this film!
In Psych Out! movie from 1968, sound this version of Purple Haze..
RIP Omer Jeffrey.. he played young Tommy/Black Caesar.
Rest in peace Larry Cohen
Classic film I saw it at kit Parker films in 1996 Cohen introduced the film.
That runaway cab scene is also from the intro to "Hell Up In Harlem" as well!
