I drive from Lubbock to El Paso most months and drive by your cafe, but never stopped. God bless you and I will be stopping by next Sunday. The State has done a nice job of upgrading the highway.
I love the turquoise and red colors. The place is looking so good! Used to stop there when the others owned it. I saw a story of them on Texas Country Reporter. Just amazing. So happy you own this place. Can't wait to visit again.
Congratulations and damn you are so lucky because you're living the life I would love to be living. Ever since we drove old route 66 from New York to California in 1960 when I was a kid, yes I'm old lol, I have loved that kind of Highway lifestyle of old motels and I remember all our adventures even though I was very young. Would love to live somewhere like your town. I've lived in South Florida for the last 35 years which I don't exactly hate, I had two little breakfast and lunch diners down here at one time, but it has become way too crowded but I simply cannot afford to leave. Living vicariously through those such as yourself is about the best I can do. Best of luck to you.
Your doing amazing I love watching your channel. I one day got to come out there and stay awhile that's my kind of place to be . I been looking for something like this for along time and when I ran across your channel I got just as excited about everything your doing. It's going to be a great place for people to visit eat etc,,
Uh huh.. yup west Texas is always a challenge..I’m up here in Odessa try to come down there.. maybe help with some chores. Stay well and vigilant guys. Nicely done.💯🇺🇸😎🌪🌎🎄❄️👈🔊😁
It's called a 36" manport typically used for inspection, cleaning, maintenance and repair if ever needed for example storm damage or vehicle damage etc.
Welcome to TX !!! We moved here to the panhandle area a couple years ago and love it !!! .. we travel a lot with our job n stay in a lot of hotels .. and if you would like a ‘customer’ point of view on what’s the important features about the room ~ be glad to give some pointers if you’re interested .. You’ve definitely taken on a huge project - but it’s looking great - wishing you all the best !! And we’ll definitely have to stop by on our travels 😃👍🏻
WOW----I've been trying to keep up with all the work/projects you've got going on and it's definitely a Big -------Job but I can see all of the progress and I can see your super Motivated and staying on top of everything. Keep on Keeping on and you'll be done before you know it, HOPEFULLY !
Definitely want to put a giant statue outside the cafe so tourists stop for photos and then buy some food or gifts. Maybe one of those photo walls where you stick your head in? Also maybe a "free petting zoo" sign for those donkeys? And then people buy food and gifts
Wow Jon, just found your channel , subscribed and loving your videos here in Calgary Canada keep them coming maybe one day I can find my way down there. Cheers
You guys are all doing a great job and I always love seeing people bring places in the U. S. Back to life! If I can say one thing though, as a woman, it would be that you need a bit of a woman’s touch here and there😁
Hi, you mentioned getting push button door knobs for your motel and I have some for sale. If you haven't bought any yet what I have are Simplex, they don't need batteries which is really nice. Some are used and some have never been used. Bulk price.
I am coming to visit but I have a 100 gallon gas tank in my truck. Plus the 40 gallon one I installed underneath for the standard tank. I have to have long range with a Travel Trailer. If somebody hits me it may be Game Over. I have a 500 gallon Gas tank I am not using at the Ranch it has Stilts on it and it Just got Certified again. It has it's own pump 12v and works very well. I am going to sell it soon.
Cool channel, it’s neat to see all the work you’ve put in, and it’ll be a charming place to visit when it’s done. You may find yourself being a destination for cyclists, being that you’re 50 miles from El Paso.
I would snow seal that new roof to reduce heat and ensure a lot longer life. Have you looked into a better well? I hope you can get more residents to help provide some income. I would invest in a fire truck and a few water tanks since your far from a real department.
Your donkeys need to go on a diet. They a very chubby. You need a Rv camping place. Overnight for cheap price or free. So many travelers need a rest after going through El Paso. Now a days we have so many people living in vans and rv full time and traveling. Most are self contained. With solar power. Texas doesn't give enough free land for people as other states. And, those travelers spend money. They eat out at least twice a week. Need showers and laundry facilities/ you make $$. Gas and Propane refilling needs for sure. A place to sit and chat and play games or music with locals. If you are welcoming to them they will spread the word for you. I think you should focus on getting the RV spots up and running first. That will be your higher revenue maker per day per person.
Cant help thinking that customers are warning ahead about the Gas prices and people are filling up so they can avoid your pump. It just seems OTT pricing. $5 a gallon for min 5 gallons for emergency gas may be reasonable and you would get way more sales.
I don’t believe so. Most people are smart enough to fill up before they head into the desert. For those that don’t, they can either pay me $50 or sit on the side of the road in no cell phone service for 5 hours while a truck comes out of El Paso or Carlsbad and charges them $250. This was never meant to be a filling station. And I won’t get more sales by lowering price
@@jonjasniak fair enough. Agree to disagree. If it’s working then I guess I’m wrong, but can’t help thinking the bad word of mouth would affect your cafe and motel business. All the best, I like watching your updates.
Just came across your channel.. love Texas but live in Oregon at this moment, will you have RV spaces for people to stay a night or two this summer? Good luck
Please say you’re going to paint the hotel rooms. There’s no personality or quaintness. Looks like guys dorm room. I wish you much success, but you should consider the opinion of a interior designer. I’ll be close to that area in a few months, hope to stop by and support your little town.
your project is cool but you might make more friends if you dont scam people who ran out of gas. or at least have the sign say emergency gas. I get the entrepreneur thing but public relations is also part of business. and businesswise if you charge a more normal amount for gas you will get more regular customers which definitely could lead to more overall profits.
The alternative here is those folks sit on the site of the road 5 hours and spend $250 for a service call. 90% of folks are happy to pay me $10/gallon. Theres only a few with broke mindsets like you who complain 🤷🏻♂️
No offense, but you seem very difficult to work for. ....1. "Hows it going ladies" ? Thats not a great way to greet your workers. 2. "These posts be thick enough?"....Isnt that YOUR job, to select materials used for the job? 3. "Could have gave it more space" again.....Its YOUR job to instruct the workers on exactly what/how that YOU want the fence built, with a clear contract! If you ask 3 different people on how to do a project, your going to get 3 different answers! I wish you the best, but I forsee major problems with getting skilled labor to stick around, for any extended period of time.
You may want to think about the rain water (the little you may get) save what come off the roof/s and into a 2nd tank to use for non-drinking use.
True, no problems with well yet (knock on wood)
This person is correct, as time goes you can use it for landscaping which will make it more appealing and not waste your well water
Please add some sunset yellow as the trim with the red and Truq. Make it bright and stand out!

The Tee Post pounder was a 20lb.r. and some were 8ft & 10ft because of the breed. Insurance reasons!

I love this channel, just happen to come across it a few months back. This channel is going to grow quickly. Buckel up.
Your sign was originally Neon tube. Dates to 30’s to 50’s those were popular.
New here I'm glad you bought some where to bring back to life ..
I tried to buy Comstock, Tx. about 1997, but settled for 300 acres outside of Ozona off of I-10

That is alot of work! I did it for years and we had rocks and roots and hard dirt. No moist soil!!

I love this so much potential! Get that gas, cafe, and store going with major new road signage. Also consider puck lights for more efficiency.
Don’t forget to do a little general store
Looking forward to seeing your grand opening

I would plan on the grand opening, sometime in spring, maybe April. Love the place and the channel. Keep up the great work!
Great job Man ! ... Looking good !

Turquoise and Flirt Alert look good together. Nice to see the work being done. It’s all so exciting.
I've ripped out a few of those fence posts - it wasn't fun. Luckily I didnt have to replace them.

Yes!
Use gravel, not concrete in your post holes. In a few years the posts with concrete will rot.
10$ a gallon for gas! Jezuz lol i thought texas was cheaper 😂. Love seeing the progress/updates though!!
Great work so far maybe you can save original sign but put it on taller pole so its easier to see maybe paint pole turquoise
Love those colors!!!
I love that you are keeping so much of it original
I can't wait to visit! I'm just a little over an hour to the west of ya! Love watching your journey.
See you soon....❤
Yes, you need your fence wire tight!
Turquoise & Red, not orange… perfect 👍
Hey! Throw a little gold or silver or black in the paint scheme!
Pleeaaasse paint that brown paneling to a bright color and paint baseboards in motel rooms!!!
keep up the great work from the UK
Congrats wish u well 👍
Amazing to see all you have done!
You should update the Wikipedia page. Following with interest.
I'm sure you are a busy man but... More town content, please.
Trying 🥵 got 3 businesses going but cornudas is my fave!
Looking good.!!!!
You need parking for tractor trailers

Where's the rain gutters at ? Y'all should be harvesting that rain water

I think if you're going with that red, you should go with cyan (in a darker shade) instead of green. Pairs better imo

Is worthwhile to have a rain collection system? Also try coral instead of red just as an option.
Idts on the rain collection. Not many folks doing it out there and I think there’s a reason
I am interested in this. What made compelled you to buy a town, and why this town in particular?
Just came across your channel.. love Texas but live in Oregon at this moment, will you have RV spaces for people to stay a night or two this summer? Good luck

What is the name of the city you're in? I would like to come out and visit in my RV
What is the property just to the west of you??
You got work?
P.S. I'm just wondering how many marriage proposals you get every week. Lol.
Think EV charging might make it out there?
Yellow and turquoise
did you get the old town near there?
Why not 30 amp?
👎, for both colors.. Too loud for travelers wanting to stop in for food and a rest.. Rustic, and clean👍
Meh I like the red and turquoise. Sticks out in the desert and I’m going to roll with it
bro bought a town and only has 4k subs
hes gonna blow up
