I have basically a perfect beagle man. I got him when was a little pup & he’s now 11. He never chewed on anything! He used to be super hyper until maybe 9 years old bc he has achy bones but he’s still obsessed w adventure. He never went though the garbage. Nothing would ever be messed up. I swear he’s actually half human. He also would protect me & bark at strangers. He is super particular w food and is the only dog I know that passes up on treats. He regulates his own body (that’s what my vet said). He also has so many hobbies, hiding toys over and over again, play w laser lights, playing w friends at the park, sniffing for random things, finding stuff that I hide, he also plays by himself and throws squeaker toys in the air & catch them when they fall and it’s just so freaking cute. He’s my soulmate and he’s 11 now, I wish he could live as long as I do, so we can be together forever. :( However…. My beagle girl never needed to be leashed. My boy would pull the leash from my hands & id have to go under bushes to chase him & my girl would just walk home by herself or sit down and wait for me to catch him. She was such a great girl. She passed away 2/9/22, r.i.p. my sweet freckles. You were such a good girl. I love my little snoopys and have huge soft spots for the beagles. ❤️
That is lush & im sorry about your girl..I agree my beagle girl is way more sensible than her younger boy. She is so good yet he is a little hooligan with no spacial awareness lol so very goofy
My Beagle passed on 06-14-24, he was the most stubborn little guy, always pulled on the leash and had an obsession with finding food, he was always hungry. Not a single health issue until the end. He was such a sweet boy though, he never was a chewer, and he was super protective and hated not being with us. R.I.P. My sweet Biscotti, I sure will miss you. 😢
I'm the same.... 'Blu' was Our Family pet, that we found in a shelter ( yeah, we "rescued" her ). Though, not stubborn, But if she went "off leash"....BOY, good luck chasing her!! 'Blu' had passed May 2023, We SURE do Miss her.............. and chasing her down! "Nite 'Blu-girl'"
I do love beagles. I had one as a kid who was quite protective of me. It's true they may not be guard dogs but this one always let us know when someone was coming.
Our Family beagle 'Blu' was Probably the exception..... She was a "rescue"...and we Were LUCKY, because she didn't have All of those traits. She, she would bay, but only when she saw us coming home from her little opening in her gate as we pulled up the driveway. BUT, she won't "Tear UP the Place"...as we kept her outside during the day, and brought her in as the sun went down. She was a ~Little stubborn, but we were able to train her NOT to eat the food once place on floor....she was Really Good at that, "Wait, WAIT.....E A T !!" But When she did get off leash when she was younger, BOY.....good luck Chasing her down!! We Miss 'Blu', she had passed May 2024..... "Good Nite, 'Blu'-girl" (She was a Good Girl!!)
i had my beagle fritz for 11 years, he was 12 when i had to put him down, he never ran away from the house always to the house, he inhaled his food. he never chased rabbits, only possums. he came from kentucky. i love your channel
Picked a Beagle for my next service dog, a little worried about my choice however...But I have nothing but time and patience. We'll get through everything together ❤. Picking her up this Saturday, super excited.
Best of luck! But if I may ask, why did you choose a Beagle/a hound breed? Do you like the breed/have owned it before? I dont wanna criticize you since you probably know best, but I'd like to hear a perspective against the usual ones that I gathered. After owning a Beagle, I couldnt imagine ever owning any of the more easily trainable breeds. And mine is actually quite a serious one when he is working (not as a service dog), but he simply demands to be able to sniff, which would make him unsuitable. But for short periods of time and enough treats, he is really focused.
I'm a very proud beagle father, I have two beagles here with me at home my mother and father have another Beagle my wife's mother and father have a beagle and other people in my wives family have beagles we are all a bunch of beagle people. I guess for anyone that is considering getting a beagle understand that they are incredibly emotional dogs they are super energetic and if you left them in a room full of food they would either literally explode or starve to death and that's because A: they ate too much food and then literally blew up or they ate all the food and they starved to death. Personally my beagles are like garbage disposals they'll pretty much eat anything and I have to be extra cautious on what I leave on the countertop because I don't want them to eat something that could be harmful to them
I loved my beagle, lots of character his worst habits were pulling TP out of the toilet after an incomplete flush, this gives a great solution to the age-old question of seat up or down of lid down always and getting any butter that wasn't pushed at least 6" back from the edge of the counter. My favorite breed is the Golden 2rd are the Brittany, Beagles probably 3rd. Buster my Beagle earned both his nick names of Butthead and Butters. Honorable mention for breed favs are Boxers Buster's friend growing up was a boxer and they had some good times.
Hi There Thanks for your vedios. They are great. We feed home cooked food for our 1 year old beagle. Can you advise on the amount we should feed to our dog please. Thanks
I think the only concern that I have regarding beagles is that if some burglar was to break into my house I would probably come home to the burglar sitting on my couch helping himself to a bowl of popcorn probably cuddling with my two beagles
My beagle Charlotte is pure beagle! Love her, love her breed. My border collie bandit was a great dog too. So smart! Two of the best breeds but yet completely opposite of each other
I’m a beagle fanatic. Had beagles since I was 5yrs old. I now have 3 beagles one female 2 males. They are wonderful dogs. They don’t do crazy well home alone so if your someone who is gone an has a empty house for more then 3 hrs a day don’t get a beagle. They are so smart. Mine knows let’s go outside an inside an come an stay an I can ask if he wants to hunt or drive or cuddle. They are smart dogs. Put the time into them and they will be great to you
Also my boy is off leash. When he gets far I go ahhh an he slows down. If he is on a scent an gets moving fast I say easy. If he has then sent good an starts to run it I tell him leave it an he will start heading my way. Still has the scent but will keep my extension enough to not track scents to the end
Also my boy duke will protect. He roars at new ppl. Beagles are friendly. But also they scenes threats. Some will cower an get cover behind human. But my boy even barks at the thunder and wants to go out to get it bc it scares his girlfriend. But when his girlfriend is asleep an Thunder starts he don’t care. Only if his girlfriend shows she is afraid
Very accurate. My wife sometimes does not like our beagle because she gets a lot of bruises from him jumping onto her. His name is Cloud. He's 16 months but still loves to play a lot. He cannot take any commands when I walk him. He will just sniff and sniff all the time even if his leash chokes him he does not mind. He will always get our dirty laundry and his favorite are dirty socks. But he is very friendly. He likes to meet new people and will ignore us if we have visitors. He will just follow around our visitors.
It does take some time to work with a Beagle. But now my Suzy Q doesnt barely bark unless someone knocks on the doors. She chewed up 1 tv remote but other than her toys its all she chewed on. Mind you i got her at 2 years old as a rescue so she was past some habits but far from trained. And now out of all the dogs i had (Corgi, Chihuahua, Maltese and Shepard mix) my Beagle is by far the most well trained. No I wouldn't let her off her leash while walking or anything. Dont know about any Beagle being able to do that. But i was pretty nervous getting a Beagle. And now I wouldnt get any other dog.
Suggestion: Work hard at your training when they are a puppy, it will pay off big time in the long run. Beagles are VERY stubborn and you will get frustrated. I can't count how many dog beds Dori destroyed before she finally stopped. Our Beagle is still frustrating to walk because she wants to smell EVERYTHING! But she rarely barks or howls, doesn't beg while we eat our food, and stays off the furniture even when we aren't around. We were adamant about that too. If she got up on the furniture as a puppy, we said "OFF" and put her back on the floor. Also, I'd crate your beagle each night and when you go out. Our beagle is 6 and pretty well trained at this point. We can now leave her out of the crate if we leave the house and not return home to something damaged. She likes her crate at night. Beagles are also very loveable, friendly, loyal, and good with children. (Provided that they aren't trying to take their food away-bad idea!) Good luck and enjoy your new pooch!
I am thi king of getting a beagel but watching this video I am rethinking if its correct decision as I am first time owner and have a small rented appartment .. I am looking for a dog which doesnt barks much please suggest n guide
Yep, do not use pads, period!!! Mine was crate trained, they won't soil their own space, got up during the night every time he cried and put him out, when he went he got a treat. Got my boy at 8 weeks, house trained by 10. Also watch behaviour, when they start sniffing and circling, out, after playtime, out, after bedtime out, after car journey, out, get the picture???
Same here.. Mine managed to pee outside during walks. Is her food scheduled? I was told to watch her pooping time and take her out before those times. U need to be "very" patient cause they will test your patience..

Her colors are predominantly black, white and a little brown to make her tricolored like a beagle. Her energy level is off the chart but at 18 weeks she is 95% house broke. train them every day. Play with them a lot and give them ample of exercise.
Congrats! You will have lots of fun

lmao I've been training my beagle how to walk beside me for the past 5 years and they still don't know how 🕴
Sounds about right. We are either pulling our beagle or she is pulling us. (Truthfully, it's mostly us pulling her!)
Yep
Like my vet said
A beagle is a NOSE on four legs
My Beagle could walking off leash besides me even she's only 11 months old. She also barely bark and act like a cat in the house.
Maybe she is a wierd Beagle 😶
I don't walk my beagle. She walks me !
Hiiii its a request can u make beagle puppie and adult food diet
My dog sure isn't a very good guard, but she sure sounds the alarm when somebody comes by!

Beagles are the absolute best, never had any other breed, never will, don't get me wrong, I absolutely LOVE dogs, but Beagles are special!
the only con is she loves us just too damn much and is just too damn cute and knows how to manipulate treats out of us at will
❤️❤️❤️I'm going to buy a beagle ❤️❤️❤️
If you don't have a lot of time or a family, please don't, they are the second hardest breed to train next to a foxhound
My favourite dog breed are Labrador and beagle
She is not eating proper.. we try to give her food trice in a day.. but feedback only one time.. after force tasting food.. also not drinking water .. regularly.. pls help
My beagle chewed up a cellphone, ate my eyeglasses, destroyed my USB cord, destroyed diabetic shoes. She's rotten but I love her anyway.
Mine has a phone and my diabetic shoes to her credit so far.

Well my Beagle and infact most of the beagles I know bark a lot. Not outside, but a lot indoors.
wish i had a mute one
Even my beagle is of 2 yrs
We had a dachshund who died after fifteen years. We bought a beagle. He is seven months old and giving us tough time. Of so many breeds we have kept dachshund was the best.

Can’t stand beagles

My beagle only listens to me off leash lol
On leash she does nothing but pull. Off leash she comes to attention at the first command, l think she just likes the knowledge of freedom
