- All of my Pentair Globrite Lights died within 4 years. How I converted from Globrite to Microbrite and the problems and tips I found along the way! Along the way a cord got stuck in conduit, so I had to use a cable puller to remove it, and fish tape to run the new cord.

GOOD JOB
Excellent video, I admire your perseverance! I have to replace two Globrite lights after four years (a lot less of a run than yours). I'm getting mixed messages about the warranty. Some are saying that if you purchase the lights online and install them yourself, the warranty is much shorter than if purchase them through a professional and they do the installation. Do you know which many be correct? Thank you.
I believe the warranty requires “professional” installation, so doing so yourself may impact the warranty support
Where did you buy the new lights and adapter from?
www.wholesalepoolequipment.com .. they were extremely helpful. Their customer service was excellent
Did the Microbrite+adapter solution fit as flush to the pool wall as the old Globrite light did? A pool guy told me this Microbrite solution will protrude a bit off the wall. True? Nice video.
@@jackg8234 it doesn’t seem to stick out to me. If it does, I wouldn’t say it’s noticeable
I hope Pentair @pentair is proud of producing such an inferior over priced product in the Globrite lights. I have two now to replace and my neighbor has replaced 5 out of 6.
What’s the difference between the microbrite vs globrite? Why change? I’m in the same situation.
Globrite is an older model, and has horrible reliability in the field. Microbrite is a newer model by Pentair, a little smaller, and seems to last longer. Brightness is about the same. Globrite has a proprietary niche that it fits in, while Microbrite is nicheless … ie it fits in the appropriately sized PVC, or can be retrofitted in the Globrite niche with an adapter (model number is covered in the video). Thanks!
Microbrite will work with Pentair automation systems just like the Globrite.
@@cakesnifferacres6629Pentair should have recalled the Globrite
From what I have read, microbrite has the same issues
Quick question, why can we just change the light without the wiring ?
The lights and wires are all one assembly. The wires are “hardwired” to the light enclosure. They offer different wire length versions of the lights so you can purchase based on your lights’ distance from your pool equipment
These pentair globrite lights are the biggest disappointment of my entire pool build. Shame on me for not checking the brightness specs of these and taking the pool builders word that 2 of them would light my pool well. My cell iPhone flashlight seems brighter than these overpriced useless pieces of junk.
