I used to do try not to laugh challenges, and I used to get into this headspace where nothing was funny to me to go through them, but then one day I was sitting there, stoic faced and looking at the videos through an overly literal and analytical lens and it hit me. I had no idea why I was doing that instead of just enjoying myself and having a laugh and experiencing as much joy from these videos as I can. I still like try not to laugh challenges, but because they usually have some genuinely funny videos, not because I feel like I have anything to prove or win by not laughing, because when we stop laughing everyone loses

Something about that jarring turn of events was very funny to me
I almost lost it at the potato soap one. But then I definitely snortled for the one where he tells them to get a full shot so they can see what he's doing & it cuts back to the cut off shot as he's petting the dog. 🤣

I MADE IT WITHOUT LAUGHING! I would like to thank my experience in theater and customer service for helping me maintain composure. Also, the one with the soda needing to be "replenished" actually had the reverse effect on me: it reminded me WAY too much of the stupid things I'd get yelled at for by my parents, and it triggered my anxiety a bit. Come to think of it, maybe years of being forced to outwardly repress my emotions helped too...
I can relate to some extend. That soda part just made me feel super anxious and stressed due to the aggressive yelling and then seeing the one due walking off while clearly upset and done with the whole situation. I hope that you're doing better nowadays, too, though.

WasSkeleton's favorite snack was almost certainly filmed in a Party City stock room. I'd recognize that set up anywhere. While the cardboard boxes on the wall provide some sound muffling (especially when filled with costumes), there's no way it was enough for how loud they were being. Maybe they did it before the store opened or while there were no customers (the extended hours for Halloween result in the store being empty semi-regularly), but it is far more likely that some customers heard all that.
Okay I spectacularly failed. The swallowed squeaky toy had me wheezing and crying with laughter. The entire house hold came to investigate and also had a good chuckle. Thanks for that OT. It's been a really hard couple of months so I needed the laugh.

I'm pregnant, just ate Thanksgiving dinner twice, and tried to watch this video while laying down. Couldn't do it. I laughed at the 13 year old with the dog toy laughing squeak. I couldn't help it. My son is 13 and I had to show him since he likes to pretend to chew on those too. And then the one with the guys doing the curls. As soon as you went, I laughed too. I was done there. I tried to hold out again, but no.
As a middle school teacher, I’ve learned how to smile and breathe through my nose without laughing or I’d never make it through the day with their shenanigans 😅 Edited to add: I lost it at the Irish lads trying to lift each other 😂 That one was too chaotic to contain myself.
Also work with children but I suck at not laughing- thankfully both the kids and my boss are cool, because I've definitely laughed at a few kids who fall down and try to disguise it as nervous laughter.

Sometimes, though, it’s too funny, and I end up laughing and can’t contain myself. 🤷♀️ However, like OT, when I start giggling at something it’s hard to stop at times depending upon what it is. 😂 (I once had a kid that was so frustrated about keyboard shortcuts who ended up saying, “well, I think this is control S, T, U, P, I, D,” and I lost it in laughing so hard that I was useless the rest of class because it came so much out of nowhere.)

the pair of Irish men got me the " hold your knees" and the "we have never me this close" got me so much I had to use my inhaler and I had a very sore throat from coughing due to my being sick this video helped me feel a little bit better about being sick because it was hilarious thank you OT!

so at band camp we did a tortilla slap competition and whoever spit the water out of their mouth last moved on to the next round. most kids spilled theirs not because it hurt, but because of how funny it was to watch the opponent prepare for a slap and their reaction.

The squeaky toy almost got me, but the video asking about how you would say you were hungry or thirsty if you were blind got me. I knew it was coming, but the first guys realization was hilarious!
I lost immediately, not because the first one was funny, but because OTs reaction trying not to laugh made me too happy.
I MADE IT WITHOUT LAUGHING! I would like to thank my experience in theater and customer service for helping me maintain composure.
Also, the one with the soda needing to be "replenished" actually had the reverse effect on me: it reminded me WAY too much of the stupid things I'd get yelled at for by my parents, and it triggered my anxiety a bit. Come to think of it, maybe years of being forced to outwardly repress my emotions helped too...
I can relate to some extend. That soda part just made me feel super anxious and stressed due to the aggressive yelling and then seeing the one due walking off while clearly upset and done with the whole situation. I hope that you're doing better nowadays, too, though.

WasSkeleton's favorite snack was almost certainly filmed in a Party City stock room. I'd recognize that set up anywhere. While the cardboard boxes on the wall provide some sound muffling (especially when filled with costumes), there's no way it was enough for how loud they were being.
Maybe they did it before the store opened or while there were no customers (the extended hours for Halloween result in the store being empty semi-regularly), but it is far more likely that some customers heard all that.
I hope they bought the skeleton, because that CANT be good for the sale value.

Sometimes, though, it’s too funny, and I end up laughing and can’t contain myself. 🤷♀️ However, like OT, when I start giggling at something it’s hard to stop at times depending upon what it is. 😂 (I once had a kid that was so frustrated about keyboard shortcuts who ended up saying, “well, I think this is control S, T, U, P, I, D,” and I lost it in laughing so hard that I was useless the rest of class because it came so much out of nowhere.)

so at band camp we did a tortilla slap competition and whoever spit the water out of their mouth last moved on to the next round. most kids spilled theirs not because it hurt, but because of how funny it was to watch the opponent prepare for a slap and their reaction.
