- Join us for the final vlog from our September 2017 Europe road trip where we visited 6 different theme parks throughout The Netherlands, Belgium and Germany! In this vlog we return to Plopsaland De Panne after we first visited the park back in June 2016. We share on ride footage from all of the major attractions at the park along with riding Heidi The Ride for our first time. Heidi is a wooden roller coaster manufactured by Great Coasters International that opened at the park earlier this year.
Along with sharing plenty of footage and reviews from the park, we also reveal our highlights from the entire trip as we make our way back to the UK via the Eurotunnel. I might have a tip for you guys for a future european mega trip. If you want to visit the walibi parks again it might be worth it to buy an annual pass (golden pass) in walibi Belgium. With that pass you get entry to walibi belgium, walibi holland, aqualibi (the waterpark next to walibi belgium) and entry to bellewaerde. And if that's not good enough, you'll get a 40% reduction at plopsa parks and movie park germany, and 50% at phantasialand. It could be a lot cheaper for you guys
Just seen that there’s an annual pass for plopsaland as well that does similar discounts but for Toverland and zoos as well
@@tattie.b8594 yeah plopsaland's fun card is indeed better priced than Walibi's golden pass, and you get the same reductions to other parcs in either cases

the park is older then 17 years before 2000 the name was meli park founded in 1935 and sold to studio 100 in 1999
Actually it was called De Meli, I wish it still was or would regain its name. And the irony is that De Meli started with the Fairy tail themed forest, which the Netherlands copied in 1952 when the Efteling was founded.

Again , it was a nice vlog. Thank you verry much for making this. My personal ranking of this Eurotrip is:
1- Efteling., 2-Phantasialand, 3-Moviepark, 4-Toverland, 5-Bobbejaanland, 6-Plopsaland. And my personal top 5 of the rides are:1-Taron, 2-Fata Morgana, 3-Riverquest, 4-Symbolica, 5-Baron1898. Btw, there is quite some news from Toverland and Efteling. Toverland published some pictures and fotos of the new darkride. And told us the name of the new area. Avalon. And a lot of people spotted markings in the area where EFTELING is going to expand the themepark with 80.000m2.

I don't think Efteling is putting markings for rides there. First they have to expand the park. Replace some roads, remove some trees, etc.. Efteling also did not anounced any rides they are planning on that place.
And i won't expect the first thing they wanna build is a wingcoaster. Because Toverland,only 90 km away from Efteling, is already building one now.

My new favourite vlog !! The park looks great especially in the sun and it has some awesome rides and theming and like you say it’s only an hour away from the UK via the Shuttle !! Shame about the food prices tho 👎🏻 definitely a park I really want to visit soon, mainly for Heidi and Anubis

Seems like a very underrated park I would come here if I ever visit Belgium. I really like White Lightning back at home in Florida so Heidi should be pretty fun as well

I loved this park when I was very little, my grandparents live 3 minutes from it and when we (me, my sister and my cousins) Where with them we always went to Plopsaland. We all got an annual pass. That were wonderful times. Even now I enjoy this park a lot. Its definitely the best park in belgium in my opinion

I really loved this and your last europe mega trip. I'm living in Belgium so it is really nice to see what you guys think of the parks that I always visited, and where I left a bit of my childhood. (I know almost all the songs they play in plopsaland :-) ). I really hope you guys get out here more because there are so many more lovely smaller parks in belgium and the netherlands, such as plopsa coo, bellewaerde, duinrell, slagharen. So many stuff to discover.

I've just recently found this channel and love it! Its been a while since I was last at a theme park which was Portaventura not long after the opening of Hurakan Condor! I won't really get a chance to go to theme parks as my friends don't really do that thing :( but I have just watched one of your planet coaster vids that features Alex and he said once he was just a fan of the channel but now is a massive part of it! Also agree with what Alex said that you feel like your friend as if you are actually part of the trips you go on but hopefully one day I can go with you guys that would be awesome! I do know you do events now and again in UK parks which I will 100% be going to one time since I am from Scotland so not that far away! Anyway great channel keep up the work!

Go to Bellewaerde parc, it’s in Ieper(Belgium) and there are attractions and animals combinated, its A beautiful parc!

Anubis is a studio 100 series and I watched it like 4 times now!

Toverland is to small yo be nr1. As an adult, you can't be there for a full day. Maybe in the future it could be.
And Phantasialand is verry well themed, has great rides. But misses that special feeling i think. Don't get me wrong,both are great parks ro visit.
Guido Hilgy The Efteling is also a great park, and wil get a whole new area just like Toverland, except the Efteling gets it in 2020 instead of next year
Yep, i know. it looks like the first preparations are started at the Efteling. I hope they put a coaster like Taron in it. and a logflume like Chiapas. and maybe an awesome new darkride. But first they have to move the road that passes trough that area.
Guido The Efteling will never build a coaster like Taron, it just doesnt fit the rest of the park, if a coaster will be build there, it will be more like Baron, Flying dutchman or Vogel Rok in intensity.
Also, they are allowed to build one ride 50 meters in length, while this was 30 before, but they are allowed to do this with 1 ride only
First opened in April 1935 as Meli-Park not summer of 2000, Got sold to a TV Company in 1999
Had a few good/very good Dark Rides including: Apirama which came out in 1979

Heidi the ride looks like a solid coaster! SW8 as a coaster will probably offer a similar ride experience I’d imagine.

This park stands on the shoulders of its predecessor, MeliPark, which had its prime in the early '90's. It was based on bees and honey. That dark ride with the boat was bee themed in my youth. Fairy tale woods were fairly close to those in the Efteling.

You know
There is a similar park to this and it’s operated by the same company that I think it’s worth visiting too.
This park is known as “Plopsa Coo”which is operated by Aspro parks.
Compered to Plospaland de Panne,This park is much smaller but feels the same as this park,same characters and I think they done great job with it.
They have a good theming,not Disney levels but still great.
One downside tho is that the park is pretty expensive with its prices, I don’t know if the prices will be much cheaper when if you will come but prepare for that.
The park can take you 3 hours I think but it’s steel cool.
They have here also 2 coaster credits:
Halvar(formerly Roller(1989-2005)/Coaster(2006-2013))-this coaster build by vekoma in 1989 and this is their rare Custom MK-700,which only 4 can be found worldwide.
It’s a pretty neat coaster,while not the best it’s still a nice vekoma which gives you a great views of a forest and provides good ride.
Vicky the ride-this coaster was opened in 2011 and this is their Gerstlauer spinning coaster which have its own custom layout.
It’s a fun ride which provides nice amount of theming like the rest of the park.
The park itself got another rides like a star flyer and one of the greatest wet n water slides.

guys,i have some great coaster news with this park,if you may or may not heard,they will get two new coaster in the years 2021 and 2022.this will be aweasome for them.the first one will be the 2021 and it will be the more exciting investment to see.this coaster will be a Mack coaster,but not just any Mack coaster,a Xtreme spinning coaster.the same model at silver dollar city,and it will finally come to europe for the first time.altough the model have been confirmed,the layout still had not been revealed yet and neither do the stats,but still,to hear this is so exciting for me.the second coaster which some might have heard.this will be an unkown kiddy coaster,altough that what we all suspecting.it will come with a massive indoor area they are planning in 2022 ad will be themed to one of thier characters named Bumba.they gave us some hint but as i said,im not sure it will be a kiddy coaster as the park didnt gave us the details yet,but im still waiting to see it.

Anubis might be smoother than other Gersts because the track is half the width of the standard track which might cause less rattling and mean they can bed down the track better.

Why??? Why Plopsa?
woollen hat It's an abreviation and contraction of the 2 first main characters of studio100: Samson ( from Samson and gert ) and Plop ( from kabouter ( gnome in English ) Plop ) . In Dutch it sounds a bit funny and cheerful. But in English it's indeed something different, haha. We can't accommodate all names and tags for all languages, though, haha 😛

Heidi was first produced in Germany by ZDF and ARD (like German BBC) and Studio 100 bought it and the 3d animation from them Looks very cheap. I think ARD ZDF should have keept it. But Plopsaland overall seems to be a great park!.

At the end are you on a ferry back to the UK? I ask cause you kept talking about a tunnel? Can you explain Sean what is happening there at the end?
We are on the Eurotunnel which runs under The English Channel and connects the UK with France
You said it took you 3 hours to get there from your accommodation. How long did it take you to get to the other theme parks? Thinking of doing a Europe megatrip 😊

Yes I am quite aware of the nature of blogging and I do not want to come across as being an internet /RUclips troll but there are other bloggers who show more ride and less chatter ! It is not that I do not like your blog it's I want more of the ride experience ! I am handicapped and will never be able to go on these rides so through you I can at least have the visual experience ! I envy you for the most part . I am sorry for ruffling a few feathers ! I am but one of many who desire the experience you take !

It's funny too see that Martin and Shawn really don't like Gerstlauers.I can agree that most are not so good and Anubis is a really good exception. But if u really wanna ride a good Gerstlauer then u must go ride Karacho in Tripsdrill Germany.It is also a launched Gerstlauer but instead of schoulder restraints it has a restraint around your hip.
We will have to go and ride it at some point!
These European parks really put our UK parks to shame. Look at that castle on the last coaster, and then look at the Dragon coaster castle at Legoland - it's been left to rot and peel and it looks awful!
De Panne is actually pronounced Duh Pahnnuh. Or Duhpahnnhuh if you want to pronounce it like the locals. Yes, with an h between n and uh. There are loads more h's put between vowels and constanants somehow. Like today, woensdag, it's whoensdhah in genuine Flemish as spoken there. With even a silent g. My brother claims he can't even talk like that, so I don't blame you if you can't :D.
You're right about the price of the drinks in cans. It's pricey due to recycling tax (Flanders is after all one of the top regions in Europe concerning reclycling) and the sugar tax (Kind of heath tax to prevent obesitas).
