As a former competitive Street Fighter player, I'll double down on the class specialist take; playin' and practicin' FaB hits the dopamine the same way learning the intricacies and matchups of bein' dedicated to Dhalsim did. Shoutouts to all my fellow class specialists out there.
I can't really agree with the "toned down release schedule". While yes, we are not getting as bombarded with releases as MTG does, we have significantly more releases within the year. Mainline sets, Armory decks every other month, new Mastery Pack and whatever else they might surprise us with accumulates to a rather packed schedule compared to the previous years. Sure, you don't have to buy into anything if it does not support your main hero/class but it still affects your gameplay as the meta shifts even faster with more cards introduced in a faster cadence and so does the viability of certain heros, classes or strategies. FAB is amazing, no questions. But the more successful the game gets, the thinner the line gets to balance.
Yeah I could totally see it from the other side of the fence. If you really want to play all the heroes and all the sets its not exactly toned down. However for me its really just 2 maybe 3 heroes at most I ever want to "keep up with" and often talented sets don't impact me at all.
I named my dog Azusa after mtg Sold my collection don’t like the direction of the game Thankfully one shop around here has weekly events. Trying to start commoner at another store. Ordered 13 decks loan for the tournament Gonna make the first few free and add some prize support. I’ll be at the Memphis calling this weekend.
Theres exactly 2 people i had real problems with in the scene and i sarted basically when it came out here in the Eu around Monarch. It was always great, but then cards started to disappear wjere these 2 went. My TO actually got stolen from and told me privately so i could oversee what they did at folowing events. Dude even weighed his binder and at one point where only we and the 2 guys were there thy stole 3 cards from his binder and hid them under the table after he called them out and i pated them down (they insisted) yielding nothing. So we called the cops, at this point its only us 4 in the locked LGS waitin for the cops. It ended up being a nothingburger and sadly they weren't sentenced or had to settle, but they are basically banned and shunned from Fab in our country. They stole multiple high value cards like an RF Eye COp Cf when it was 300+€ etc. All in all over1.5k we know about over different LGS's and events. Gladly the only bad experience i had with people in the fab scene, everyone else i met is cool.
