i’ve never cross stitched and i have lots of questions .. why do you loop some stitches through itself but not all of them like at 3:00 and 3:45? why are some stitches X patterned but others aren’t like at 5:50? this is really cool and i want to be able to do this too! thank you for the video
I only loop when I start a new thread (I believe it's called the loop method). This is usually done on the back of the fabric, but since I have the frame fixed to be able to film, I create the loop on the front and pull it through to the back side. The left kitten is stitched using Gobelin stitch (two slanted parallel lines for one square of the design) and the right one using Cross stitch (one X for one square of the design).
