Bet the neighbors loved this... But seriously, you rock Beth for making the fans get a chance to see this. AFP rocks for being AFP. What a quirky and interesting night. Rock. jmd
Goddess she is the most talented woman out there. This song is awe inspiring. She's one of the few artists who is better live than on cd, but she is still fucking awesome on cd! AFP!
i love so much that i searched for this and Not only did I find it… It's actually Amanda Palmer her self… playing piano, which is what I specifically was hoping for… to see her hands… and also… shhh don't tell… my name is marcy 💋🖤🔮🌹🙏🏻🌀💫🎶⭐️
oh & just before this, I was searching for the sheet music and found that it's available directly on their site… Everything including dresden dolls and bonus stuff… so i got it! very merry unbirthday to me. #soulhealinglovemagic thank you soooo much more than i can say w words… ps & i feel funny asking, but, what is your leg / foot doing? I've a feeling i just need to listen & watch more & the answer is right… there… here… xo
Dresden dolls are one of my favorites ones. I love the way Amanda plays piano and sings. Thats passion. You're the best.... This song is sooo beautiful, always makes me cry...
@subliminalanger this song goes down to C3 that is hard even for a contralto. I know how the song goes. I know it well. She is raising it an octave in places. My friend told me she was sick when she did this which explains it. But if you are going to argue with me which notes she is supposed to be singing I will show you a song book.
“Delilah” is me, at 17…and every friend i’ve ever had with a taste for abusive relationships. Some of the images and details in the song (“I’m down at denny’s on route one/and you won’t guess what he’s done”) were pulled straight from images and moments in my teen years, while skipping around town giving subpar blow-jobs to the lexington town drug dealers (i thought i was AMAZING) (Denny’s was a shitty all-night chain diner and the only place near the sad suburb of lexington, mass, open 24 hours). and some of the lyrics are pulled were straight out of my heart…unforgettable images while watching my friends in abusive relationships they can’t get out of. (“He’s gonna beat you like a pillow…”). and I really deliberately thought about and quoted that “Thelma & Louise” scene when writing the last few lines “You need a ride, Delilah?/let’s see how fast this thing can go…”). - Amanda Palmer
@joetornatore go cry, emo dad. j/k! i'm almost 40 and i've been listening to them for years. you might also like Natlie Merchant's slow, sad, non-radio songs.
Is it very wrong that I have this song stuck in my head as an upbeat funny version of itself? I must have dreamt it and yes, it is very wrong. Please tell me there isn't such a cover out there? And Please tell me if there is.
Ah! I finally figured out why she keeps going to higher octaves. She is having trouble getting down there. Maybe she was sick or something? I know I can't get down there and I am within contralto range but considered a mezzo... Those notes are quite hard to reach. I imagine playing this on a regular piano was also hurting her hands because of the faster parts :(
Love how she's playing in her underwear and a robe lolz! Wonderful Amanda simply brilliant!
God I miss the Dolls or even WKAP era...
Vixxenkiss same

I have gotten to see the Dolls live once, and AFP solo live once. Every single time I discover a new video or live performance, I love her even more!
