As a person who has openly hated Beast ever since he turned on Cyclops, I was really glad to see the Beast/Wonder Man team up again. Beast was at his best when he was around Simon and I really hope that they continue working together in the future. As for the use of the name, Wonder Man, I think Marvel could easily come up with a new codename for him. He could even be the new Sentry.

Ya, didn't he surrender and have a conversation with Cap about his desire to take responsibility? Im surprised they didn't have Orchis take note in some fashion or outright try to take advantage of his imprisonment in some way.
I love that Wonder Man is in this issue.
Namor turned himself in at the end of Jason Aaron's run of the Avengers. For the crimes he did during that run and the invaders miniseries.
@bizzerdman The timeline doesn't add up. Namor was in Black Panther before the new launch and he appeared on either the first or second Hellfire Gala

With all due respect, I don't think Beast is trying to kill the mutants of Arrakko. Based on the panels you showed, it seems like he's trying to leave the mutants (including the ones he believes are exiled there from Earth) in a "cosmic vault" until he deals with the humans. I think he still sees himself as protecting mutants.
I needed me a Beast reset.
Wonderman is definitely a lot more powerful than you're describing here. He's basically one of the superman type analogues of marvel. Dude's power set makes him more powerful than Carol Danvers

That's not "Defenders" Beast, it's Avengers Beast. It was also stated in X-Force or Immortal X-men when they found out he left a back up of himself from his Avenger days.
Essentially Avengers Beast was Defenders Beast, After the George Perez Avengers (80’s) Beast went with Ice Man and Angel into The Defenders (it has been a dog’s age since I last read those comics) but for all intents and purposes it is the Beast from the 80’s. I hope this helps.
In the X-Force team in this comic X-23 is on the team, so that means that this story is before the Sabertooth War where Sabertooth and his army kidnaps X-23, right? So, if this is before Sabertooth War, imagine a twist like X-Force Beast vs. Sabertooth, or Beast Prime, makes a deal with Sabertooth or whatever.

Maybe it’s the phones that I’ve been watching these from, but most times when I hear the sound for the linked videos, I never see the pin at the top right
Leaving instructions to undo what he is doing.... Beast has deep internal conflict(s) and I bet if you read all his appearances you may get some insight on why, but I think for the most part the whys for what he has done in so many instances have not been covered.... a creator doing a good deep-dive on beast to dig up all his secrets would be cool.. maybe they want him to have secrets.... but I think he could be far more popular if he did have a good solid run, but every character could and I don't know he is on the iso for Marvels staff.
Im pretty sure Namor surrendered to the "authorities", after the last major Avengers event, prior to the fall of x stuff. I distinctly remember Cap visiting him in jail, and Namor said he was intent on taking responsibility for his prior actions and serving his time. So I don't think it had nothing to do with Orchis. That said, I am surprised Orchis hasn't seemed to pay any attention to Namor being imprisoned and trying to take advantage of it... 😅
only thing in my mind when I heard one of his powers was this sooooo Scott eye beams huh :P. I have been out the comic book loop so long it just feels foreign to me beast even if evil who would think him of all mutants would want to remove mutants. I miss comics sigh
Don't think I have ever seen Wonder-Man in my LCS and can't remember any modern stories with him in them... Almost every video dealing with him (wonder-man) are history videos

Well, we can safely say that Connor Goldsmith isn’t ghost writing this. Otherwise, we’d have had a panel where Defenders Beast went to Candy Southern’s grave. Oh and Threnody would’ve appeared by now.

He is still conflicted but that might be because his idea of what he can do vs what he should do has always been in flux.
Beast is trying to contain Arroko to protect the mutants there while he takes on Orchis solo dolo......seems like his heart is in the right place...... just a lii bit of the dark beast shining through

Hummm those DEFENDERS were under the manipulation of MoonDragon. Not good days for my favorite team.
However, it was the team led by Candy Southern. So that balances it out.
I didn’t mind those Defenders, they were fun, (different than The Avengers)

@@mutazah Yes. She was kind of the Sue Dibny of Marvel at the time where writers liked using her so they finally had her leading a team. She had her and Angel’s Grand Canyon house remodelled to be a training facility for the team. They made her the leader because she’d always be manning the communications and because she was the most mature person there.
Honestly, it was really sweet.
She and Angel were together for 20 years of publication. She was even in the Hidden years story.
Gets to the point that you can say that we don’t have many good adaptations of Angel because she’s not in there.

Yes, but Orchis is said to have a trump card that will put the Avengers on the back foot in an upcoming Avengers issue. Also, even if the X-men and mutants get revenge against Orchis, they will be seen as the VILLAINS here!

It seemed to me like he'd be locking them in a something akin to the Vault; and the info he'd leave behind would be how to get them back out if he couldn't. He does want them out of the way but I don't think he wants to just kill that many mutants. I too have to reread it because it wasn't clear. I think it may have been left unintentionally unclear as well to let us continue to see whatever he was going to do as a big negative though. Blue mustache twirling and all. 😂

Okay, fasten your seatbelts. This was what I learned from the podcast Cerebro in their Nekra episode.
1) DC approached Marvel way back in the 70’s claiming that Wonder Man was encroaching on the Wonder Woman brand.
2) in understanding, Marvel killed off Wonder man and replaced him with Vision who, at the time, was like an AI duplicate.
3) Dc then debuts Power girl despite Luke Cage, aka Power Man, being a Marvel property.
4) Stan Lee got ticked off and, not only had the writers bring Power Man back but, just to make sure DC couldn’t do it, had a group meeting to make Spider Woman.
Wonder Man is sometimes used but I don’t think they want to use him too much in case DC tried some BS again.
Since Hank McCoy is supposed to be very smart, and smart people are not like not considering several possibilities, and there are other smart characters in their world.

I just hate how they turned 1 of the founding & purest XMen member into a terrible villan. Why not do this to Wolverine; after, all prior to the movies, Wolverine seemed to be a loner and possibly "bipolar." (Until the comics did everything based off Hollywood movie success, Wolverine a leader..."Wolverine & the XMen" animated series...... for example). Just my opinion!
I mean they got us cheering for ex-villains like Magneto, Emma Exodus and Juggernaut to name a few. Guess you gotta have some balance…the even got Xavier looking crazy and unhinged
