The White Elephant in Ft Worth/Tarrant County is still there. 30yrs ago my wife and I went there often. The place has a lot of history. Should you ever be in Ft Worth it's worth dropping in for a couple of cold brews.
Character actor Wally Cassell as Luke Short. Cassell worked with the likes of John Wayne and Jimmy Cagney. He had a long and very lucrative career on film and TV.
As a descendent of Jim courtwright and my complete knowledge that goes with it, that’s not the truth.. but it was a good watch.. love anything that has to do with western gunfighters
There is speculation he did demand protection money, but I feel the method of operation that is shown here is more in line with how Big Steve Long operated, similar except Big Steve demanded you give up the deed for the land and take what he payed. Big Jim was intimidating but from what I heard he fought face to face with his guns. Luke Short was hardcore from what I read though and better with his guns. Also Luke Short owned the establishment that he and Jim argued in before gun fighting each other and he was not afraid of Courtright, he was younger than him by 6 years.
Never pick on a little guy. It might seem easy, but they've been picked on all their lives and are tough bastards. Tougher than big, he man tough guys who've bluffed their way through life. But don't believe me. I don't need your teeth. 😂
crime investigators will be stumped...2 dead men, each had a pistol in their hands, each shot once but the guns they had were never fired...a true mystery.
