Fun, easy listening 60s rock with a catchy tune. Fun loving lyrics. That's what made the Turtle's, Lovin' Spoonfuls, Norman Greenbaum's - Spirit In The Sky, The Association, Beach Boys so Special. Short, tells a quick story and outro. Easy listening 🎧 Rock.
The Lovin' Sponful lived at the Sunset Tower West when my Grandma was the manager there. It was a residential Hotel. When she first started working there it was mostly actors and comedians like Don Rickles. I remember waiting in the lobby for her one afternoon when a couple came in. I knew who they were, so I didn't understand when she practically threw them out. Her assistant manager came running out. She asked why my Grandma didn't talk to them. Grandma said that they had long hair, bare feet, and were wearing scruffy clothing. I told her to look out the window. She did just in time to see the Limo pull away from the curb. I asked her if she knew who she had chased away. She said no, but that she was sure that they couldn't afford the rent. I told her that it was Sonny and Cher. I guess she had studied up on what her new clientele was going to be, because one time after my Mom dropped me off Grandma's assistant told me I would have to wait a while for Grandma. When I asked why, she said that one of their tenants was sick and Grandma was making him soup. I asked who and she said it was one of The Lovin' Spoonful.

On their name: I saw them in concert on a reunion tour. They said they were the second most popular band in the 60’s that had 7 letters in their name and ending with “tles”. It got a good laugh.
Absolutely. The other song that does the same thing for me is Simon & Garfunkel's - "The 59th Street Bridge Song". I would sing that song, out loud, as I walked across my college campus when I was going to take a test. It always lowered my anxiety level... "slow down, you move too fast".
Two key things: 1.) "Flo and Eddie" are Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman. They met as high school classmates and band 'geeks" (Gives hope to all high school band geeks that someday, you may make it big as well!) While still in high school, they formed several bands - The Nightriders, the Crossfires and the Tyrtles. As the Nightriders and the Crossfire, they were "surf music" and recorded a few minor singles. They changed their style to folk rock as The Tyrtles. In 1965, they had their first hit, a cover of Bob Dylan's "It Ain't Me Babe". It was soon followed by more hits such as "Let Me Be" and "You Baby" as the band transitioned from folk to pop. From 1966-68, they were at their commercial peak with "Happy Together", "She'd Rather Be with Me", "You Know What I Mean" and "She's My Girl" and several more. Financial problems, poor record sales, and in fighting led to the band's breakup in 1970's, but Flo & Eddie (Kaylan & Volman) continued to work together on numerous projects. 2.) If you listen carefully to the song, he's not singing about his girlfriend.... He's singing about a girl he likes, but she doesn't pay any attention to him... The song is all about him imagining how happy he would be if they were together... The 2nd verse "If I should call you up, invest a dime And you say you belong to me and ease my mind Imagine how the world could be, so very fine So happy together" Probably blows the minds of anyone under 35. "Invest a dime"? Yes, that's what it cost to make a phone call from a public (pay) phone.
I have to disagree, he is saying "Yes, imagine me and you, I do. I think about you day and night, it's only right, to think about the one you love, so happy together." No where does it say she is not interested in him! He is professing his love to her and imagining them together, and how happy they would be. I know this song inside and out. As I said my boyfriend and first love used to sing it to me all the time and no where in that song is he saying "even though you aren't interested!" She is also happy together...as we were! Just had to correct that misinterpretation and yes, he often called me in the 1970's on a payphone and invested a dime! If you were a high school student, you didn't usually have much money esp in the hippie times so that is why he says that in the song. The song is an invitation to love him and he is already saying he loves her.
@@cafeesotericaradiohostesss3983 According to Bob Shannon & John Javna "Behind the Hits", the song "Happy Together" is about unrequited love. The singer, talks about how much in love he is with the woman, but the woman doesn't pay any attention. The very first line, "Imagine me and you, I do" makes most of the song a wish of the narrator. He then goes on about how wonderful things would be IF they were together. At the end of the song we hear the odd line, "...how is the weather?" That line is sung with a slight crack in the voice, because, even after his pleas (with background vocals AND horns to boot!), the object of his affection is STILL not moved, so he is breaking into tears over having lost again, so he tries to change the subject over to something innocuous, like the weather. As for the instrumentation, it's a rather clever technique. The first few lines are sung with minor or sad chords, but the lines that begin with, "I can't see me lovin' nobody but you..." have major or "happy" chords, which suggest that his hopes go up as he goes further into his fantasy. No, the song isn't a creepy stalker song such as the Police "Every Breath You Take" - it's simply a guy who has a huge crush on a girl, but the girl doesn't have the same feelings for him. The back story of the song is even more interesting. Written by Alan Gordon and Gary Bonner - the demon was horrible, and most bands of the era turned the song down. But Kaylan & Volman saw something in the song, and asked if they could use it. They used the song in live performances only, for 8 months, before they ever recoded it. Per Kaylan, it was the bassist, Chip Douglass, who came up with the horn and vocal arrangements that made the song work. Kaylan added that it took only 3 hours to record the song, and the moment it was completed everyone knew it would be a hit.
@@billsager5634 you know what Bill, who gives a shit!? My interpretation with my beloved first love was good enough for us and music can mean many things to many people including lyrics and poetry so to each his own! Most people will think it’s a bird but he says it’s about a black bird ( slang for girl or woman) yeah so are you going to crucify those who are enjoying it as a song about a bird whose colour is black? Get a life please!

September 4, 1971, The Turtles "Happy Together" was the wedding song of in-laws who are high school sweethearts. 2021 for their 50th Anniversary they drove 600 miles back to the same church in Philly to renew their wedding vows. Not even getting into a car accident (totaling the car) on their way to the church the morning of their 50th Anniversary was able to stop them from renewing their vows that day.
May have them confused with The Association with the exception of Midnight Confessons (The Grassroots), but you are right that all the songs you mentioned are great and I would love to see reactions to. I get mixed up sometimes, too. So many great songs and groups we all grew up with! :)
Another great group from the 60's. The Turtles are an American rock band formed in 1965. "Happy Together" is their biggest hit in 1967. But they had a lot of great songs such as "It Ain't Me Babe", "Let Me Be", "You Baby", "Grim Reaper Of Love", "Can I Get To Know You Better", "She'd Rather Be With Me", "You Know What I Mean", "She's My Girl", "Elenore", "You Showed Me" etc.
The summer before Covid, my dad and I saw a group of 60's bands as whole at the Ohio State Fair, lead by the lone survivor of the Turtles. Daddy promised me we'd come back if they did. Fast forward a year, my daddy was diagnosed with inoperable lung cancer. We won't be coming back. But that is one of the best memories of my life. Thank you for giving me that feeling back, even if just for a momenet
This is the song my husband and I picked for our wedding, I was born in ‘67 and he wasn’t born until ‘75 but this was always our song (still is!!!). Thanks!!! 😎
I've been listening to The Turtles since the late 60s. This was their first and biggest hit. Fast-forward to 1974, I was in HS, and I finally got to see them in concert with The Guess Who! It just seemed to be the trend to name their bands with animals names since they were all kind of within the same period of time. They were awesome! Thanks for this reaction, Jamel! ;-)

During the late 60's 67 when I was born, A lot of bands were naming themselves after nature or Earthy things like the Monkeys, Beatles, Turtles ect. Remember the hippie movement also promoted being kind to our Earth, recycling, health food. But I also believe they were on Ed Saloman show explaining their name.
Flo and Eddie became members of Frank Zappas "Mothers of Invention " they perform this song on Zappas album Fillmore East June 1971 , the harmonies are fantastic
This is a classic like you said. There are so many great songs from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’ and the choices are endless!. I could rattle off probably at least a dozen songs off the top of my head that hasn’t even been done yet. I don’t bc I don’t know if you’d see them. You get so much put on you.
The Beatles were named based on the success of Buddy Holly and The Crickets-both insects. Also, The Hollies were named after Buddy. Quite an honor for Buddy.
When I was about 8 or 9 years old, my Dad lived in the same Apartment building as The Turtles in Hollywood, CA. It was called "The Hollywood West". It was located on Franklin, that was one block up from Hollywood Blvd. t was right off of Highland. My little Brother and I visited our Dad every other weekend. Some or all of the guys in The Turtles lived at the end of our hallway. They were really nice to us. They would let my Brother and me mess with their instruments in their apartment and played music for us. My Late Brother started playing guitar around then. He was 2 years younger than me. He eventually became a Jazz Trumpet and Flugelhorn player. He also played keyboards. They played with us in the pool. They would bbq by the pool and always let us hang out with them. They were like a bunch of kids themselves. I look back on it now and realize this was between 1966-1967 or there abouts.
The lead singer and the guy who did all the dancing also performed as Flo and Eddie . And as Flo and Eddie they also recorded alot with Frank Zappa. Just a little trivia !
I'm actually starting to build a fence for one of the bass players The Turtles have had throughout their career, this Wednesday. Such a sweet guy! I had a class in college with his brother who was their drummer for a time.
The lead singer Howard Kaylan is a great friend of mine and we've been friends on social media for over 10 years. When I met him backstage at a concert in 2017 it was exactly 50 years after he met The Beatles, Brian Jones of The Rolling Stones, and Jimi Hendrix all on the same night in 1967. Then by the end of the concert.. I ended up being on stage with him and some of the other acts, singing this song ☮️
Talk about names - Howard Kaylan (lead singer) and Mark Volman (back up singer in orange shirt) formed The Turtles. At one point they broke with their record company and found out that not only were they not allowed to perform as The Turtles, they couldn't even perform under their own given names. So they toured as "Flo and Eddie" - Flo being short for Volman's nickname of The Fluorescent Leech. For a couple of years they sang with Frank Zappa's band, The Mothers of Invention, featuring Flo and Eddie. Why any of these names? Who knows, they were having fun!
Thanks Jamal...one of my husbands and my favorite songs...when it came on the radio we would both look at each other and sing it together. We were together 34 years b4 he passed. God bless my wonderful husband and God bless you Jamal for bringing back great music💜
The two main dudes from Turtles, Howard and Kaylen, went on to sing with Zappa's band. I saw the extraordinary band at U.C.L.A. in the early seventies. In Zappa's band they were the Flourescent Leech and Eddie. Epic night.
Yep, you had 15 minutes of commercials and DJ patter and 45ish minutes of songs, which meant some songs like the almost 7 minute long Doors 'Light My Fire' were released in a 3 minute single version to get more airplay ruclips.net/video/IYllM2GSLXs/видео.html
They went to Westchester High School(L.A.)together. Performing in the school's A cappella choir, Kaylan formed a group; The Nightriders(which included choir members & future "Turtles", Al Nichol on lead guitar, Don Murray on drums and Chuck Portz on bass). Volman joined them just before they changed the groups name to The Crossfires in 1963. After H.S. graduation, and while attending local colleges in the Los Angeles-area, they continued playing together as The Crossfires, adding rhythm guitarist Jim Tucker. In 1965, the group landed a contract with White Whale Records, local disc jockey and club owner Reb Foster becoming their manager. They changed their name to "The Tyrtles" (the fad of a stylized, intentionally misspelling...that paid homage to The Byrds. They soon changed to the correct spelling; "The Turtles").
Mark Volman (Flo,) and Howard Kaylan (Eddie), had a syndicated radio show in 70's (I think I remember the decade). They also worked with Frank Zappa and did a couple of live albums with him.
I saw The Phlorescent Leech and Eddie ( Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan (Turtles lead singer)) a few times when they were members of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Once I was right up in front of the stage.
Music of my early childhood Reminds me of family holiday get togethers my aunt's and uncles were into this kind of music This was my first Easter in 25 years, that Easter morning, it was just me and my wife Hearing this, today stings more than it should
So glad to see you reacting to this. The Turtles had many hits and were a staple on the radio in the late 60's. Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman went on to become Flo and Eddie and sang back up on T Rex's Electric Warrior and The Slider album. That's them harmonizing on Get It On (Bang a Gong). Great great stuff. I'd love to hear more T Rex, especially the title cut The Slider, Telegram Sam, Mambo Sun and Rip Off. Incredible music!
It's hard for me to refrain from singing along with this tune . Thanks for the reaction. I'd like to suggest that you react to their song "It Ain't Me Babe" which was later covered by Johnny Cash.
This is just one of those kinds of songs you can't help but love. I remember my mom always made sure I had a dime with me, in case I had to make a call. Then it went up to a quarter.
I love this song! Easly listening and catchy beat, easy lyrics! I think this is the only song I know from the Turtles! It is good to see a live version of this song too! Very nice! Enjoyed your reaction! ☮💕
One of my all-time favorite bands. Their manager suggested they change their name from the Crossfires to the Turtles because it was an "animal" name that sounded similar to the Beatles, and sounded British. The band thought it was stupid and hated it at first, but they went with it, and had huge success. Lead singer Howard Kaylan had some of the greatest pipes in rock and roll.
My friend and I are The Turtles. (Our names for each other) He would bring the guitar and we'd be outside in the mornings singing something by The Turtles. (Especially this one) Good times
The Turtles were originally a surf band called the Crossfires (if you can imagine them doing songs with no vocals). When they transitioned to folk rock, management suggested changing the name to the Turtles. The band thought though it was a crazy idea until it was pointed out that "it's an animal name and ends in les like the Beatles. People will think you're a British Invasion band." Many people did... they're from L.A. Howard Kaylan has one of the best voices ever in rock music. The harmonies came from most of them being in acapella choir together in highschool. "Elenore" was another huge hit (although Kaylan says it was written as a joke that nobody got...pay attention to the lyrics). Also recommend you check out "She's My Girl".
Great old iconic 60's "Classic Rock" era song. I can't count the number of tv shows, commercials, and movies that have used this song in some form or fashion. When music was original, and didn't sound like everyone else's sound. Thanks Friend
First time I can remember hearing this song was in the movie Ernest Goes To Camp. And I did not realize that it was a pun until now, as they used it to put a turtle to sleep. Makes sense in context, or at least as much sense as anything in an Ernest movie does.
I really hope you come back to these guys, they have lots of amazing songs. "Elenore", "Outside Chance", "It Ain't Me Babe", "She'd Rather Be With ME", etc. Super fun and great rock & roll. Fun fact : lead singers Howard Kaylan and Mark Vollman (also known as Flo & Eddie) went on to work with Frank Zappa and also did backing vocals on a lot of classic songs, including "Hungry Heart" by Bruce Springsteen, "Get It On" by T.-Rex, and "Love My Way" by the Psychedelic Furs.
They were originally an LA surf band called The Crossfires. With the British Invasion and the popularity of The Beatles, plus the American response to it with bands like The Byrds, they changed the name originally to The Tyrtles, then The Turtles. They had an incredible and bizarre sense of humour, which comes out on some of their songs: Sound Asleep, My Girl, Elenore, their album The Battle Of The Bands and completely off-the-wall numbers like Umbassa & The Dragon. Frank Zappa liked them, and after the band broke up, Howard Kaylan, Mark Volman and bassist Jim Pons joined The Mothers Of Invention.
In the early 70s, the two leading members of The Turtles, Howard Kaylan and Mark Volman, ended up becoming members of Frank Zappa's band, The Mothers of Invention.
I saw The Turtles at a firefighter's benefit along with a few other "oldies" bands in the early 90s. They were the best band and the most entertaining IMO. The tambourine player does Globetrotter style tricks with the tambourine. 😄
After the Turtles, Howard Kaylan and Mark Vollman became a duet called Floe and Eddie, fronted the Mothers Of Invention (Zappa) for a few albums and a movie called 200 Motels, there is a really good Floe and Eddie black and white concert on YT...
I used to sing happy songs like this on my way to my miserable middle school experience. Zombies, Beatles, Rosemary, etc. Music saved my from teenage misery.

On their name: I saw them in concert on a reunion tour. They said they were the second most popular band in the 60’s that had 7 letters in their name and ending with “tles”. It got a good laugh.
🤣 I love that.
Great tune - an ‘answer’ to “Happy Together” was “Elenor” which is really great, not so overplayed
This is one of my favorite feel good songs! It never fails to uplift me! One of those songs that takes me back to a special moment in time! :)
The 2nd verse
"If I should call you up, invest a dime
And you say you belong to me and ease my mind
Imagine how the world could be, so very fine
So happy together"
Probably blows the minds of anyone under 35.
At the end of the song we hear the odd line, "...how is the weather?"
That line is sung with a slight crack in the voice, because, even after his pleas (with background vocals AND horns to boot!), the object of his affection is STILL not moved, so he is breaking into tears over having lost again, so he tries to change the subject over to something innocuous, like the weather.
Paul McCartney wrote Blackbird was he singing about a bird or a black woman in the civil rights crisis of the 1960s ? Most people will think it’s a bird but he says it’s about a black bird ( slang for girl or woman) yeah so are you going to crucify those who are enjoying it as a song about a bird whose colour is black? Get a life please!
@@billsager5634 as I replied before I really could give two shits! Sorry for my language but what are you trying to do? Take away the meaning between me and my dead boyfriend? Does that make you happy??? I mean this is OUR song and Glen chose it because he felt HAPPY TOGETHER with me, so please do not address me with your "Oh no, you got it all wrong" BULL ok? I am not interested and why you needed to do this, man look at your ego and perhaps your own insecurities, clearly you have never been in love, how sad!
flo and eddie-the turtles!Their song "you showed me"-i played that 45 until the grooves wore out!
One of the all time greatest songs. Thank you for sharing this great 60s video! ~Be Blessed
They had so many hits, Windy, Cherish, Along Comes Mary, Midnight Confessions, Never My Love. They bring me back to my preteen days. Thank you!!
Sorry... ALL those songs are by other groups, mainly The Association!
However, "MidniteConfess..." was by The Grassroots though.
All those songs were by a band called The Association, not The Turtles. All great tunes for sure!
May have them confused with The Association with the exception of Midnight Confessons (The Grassroots), but you are right that all the songs you mentioned are great and I would love to see reactions to. I get mixed up sometimes, too. So many great songs and groups we all grew up with! :)
Ms Beal, there appears to be an echo chamber of folks replying to your comment... Weird!
One of my childhood favorites! It's got such a good positive vibe! ✌
Another fun one would be Dave Clark Five song "Glad All Over" also "Do Wah Diddy" by Manfred Mann
He has such a great voice. Especially on “Eleanor”. The Beatles & The Kinks… great visual!
I love that song because the lyrics are purposely stupid.
The "Happy Together" tour.
This is on my "happy" songs list. It never fails to lift up my spirits.
Me too. It. Never. Fails.
Thanks for this reaction, Jamel! ;-)
Well aren't we the Professor????😆✌️😎
Would have loved seeing both of them in person. We are close in age. I graduated high school in 1973. I think I was the youngest in my class.

My fave of theirs is You Know What I Mean
My love for The Turtles comes from my Mom she loved all the sixties pop music. One of their hits; Elenore with lines like "you're my pride & joy, etcetera" was written in response to the Record Company asking for another bubble-gum hit.
Hey Jamel, It's Great to see how much you've learned about Old Rock and Roll !! Please keep doing your Video's, Have the Most Respect for You and what you Do!! Thanks Bro.
I think you meant Ed Sullivan, maybe there was an Ed Saloman...Not trying to be a smartass, not talking down to you
@@noplanband3302 I know about this talk show, but this was before I was born. My sibling would know more. I did not feel bad about your comment.

Flo and Eddie became members of Frank Zappas "Mothers of Invention " they perform this song on Zappas album Fillmore East June 1971 , the harmonies are fantastic
That period of Zappa's band was some of the best controlled chaos ever performed.

Just an aside: The audio is from the record. They call it "lip-syncing" now, but it was called "miming" back in the day, at least in Britain.
You should try Paul Revere and the Raiders, “Kicks”, “Hungry” or “Indian Reservation” to name a few.
"Kicks" is one of the best songs from the 60s .. Love it !
‘Him Or Me’ is a great song worth a listen too
This is a classic like you said. There are so many great songs from the 40’s, 50’s, 60’s, 70’s, 80’s and 90’
and the choices are endless!. I could rattle off probably at least a dozen songs off the top of my head
that hasn’t even been done yet. I don’t bc I don’t know if you’d see them. You get so much put on you.
The Beatles were named based on the success of Buddy Holly and The Crickets-both insects. Also, The Hollies were named after Buddy. Quite an honor for Buddy.
And in their aftermath came The Byrds, the Monkees, the Turtles... animal names became a standard way of naming bands in the 60s.
Elenore is also great hit song by them. Too.
Great songwriting and vocals galore.
When I met him backstage at a concert in 2017 it was exactly 50 years after he met
The Beatles, Brian Jones of
The Rolling Stones, and
Jimi Hendrix all on the
same night in 1967.
Flo And Eddie were a part of Zappa's band for a while.
If I remember right they did this song on Zappa’s live at the Fillmore East album.
That song came out when I was a freshman in college. Boy does it bring back a time and place. Ah, to be young again....
Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan eventually became Flo & Eddie and were also part of one version of Frank Zappa's Mother's of Invention.
I always loved the line “ If I should call you up, invest a dime”.. referring g to cost of a pay phone call… so funny..
Epic night.
Another group I liked was The Association. Never My Love, Windy and Along Comes Mary
Windy is a classic. I'd also recommend another band of the era, The Zombies.
“Everything That Touches You” is my absolute favorite Association song. SO beautiful…
Thank you for your channel! I have been on an adventure from the different avenues you have gone with music. Thank you for the ride!!
The Turtles used to be called The Crossfires and they were a surf instro band for the most part with a few vocal tracks.
One of the cutest and happiest songs ever, along with Sugar Sugar by The Archie's. My go to if I'm in need of a quick pick me up
Back in the day when AM radio dominated the air waves, the songs were kept under three minutes so that DJs would play them.
You are absolutely right!!! The Beatles and The Kinks equals The Turtles and Extremely popular in 1966 through 1969. Love this No.1 song.
even better is their song "she rather be with me".. have a great day Jamel and Everyone..
Mark Volman (Flo,) and Howard Kaylan (Eddie), had a syndicated radio show in 70's (I think I remember the decade). They also worked with Frank Zappa and did a couple of live albums with him.
Always loved catching this song on the radio. Great summer driving song!
I was born in ‘74, but I love the Turtles. Sometimes you just need feel good music.
I saw The Phlorescent Leech and Eddie ( Mark Volman and Howard Kaylan (Turtles lead singer)) a few times when they were members of Frank Zappa and the Mothers of Invention. Once I was right up in front of the stage.
I grew up with this music, I was 11 years old when this song came out. Still love it. 👍💕🎶

Reminds me of family holiday get togethers my aunt's and uncles were into this kind of music
This was my first Easter in 25 years, that Easter morning, it was just me and my wife

Flo and Eddie from the group played with Zappa and they preformed this song with him. So much energy in that version.
It's hard for me to refrain from singing along with this tune . Thanks for the reaction. I'd like to suggest that you react to their song "It Ain't Me Babe" which was later covered by Johnny Cash.
Don't refrain then!!!❤️❤️✌️
"It Ain't Me, Babe" was written and originally performed by Bob Dylan.

When this song came out, I was 13-years-old, and I loved it!
(Our names for each other)
He would bring the guitar and we'd be outside in the mornings singing something by The Turtles. (Especially this one)
Good times
This was my parents song, from day one till my dad passed 2 years ago. 53 years together, it was their favorite song.
There are so many bands in the later 60s that came up with short catchy tunes. This is one of my favorites.
This is such a great song! I loved it then and I love it now. 🌺✌️
That looks like a Smothers Brothers set, they had some excellent performances on their show!
That’s true. i had forgotten about them.
Notably The Who, My Generation that whole skit from the intro to the the exploding drumkit is excellent.
Their name was originally spelled "Tyrtles" after the "Byrds." It was an attempt to capitalize on the popularity of folk rock
Great old iconic 60's "Classic Rock" era song. I can't count the number of tv shows, commercials, and movies that have used this song in some form or fashion. When music was original, and didn't sound like everyone else's sound.
Thanks Friend
Ah the 60’s!! Peace, love, flower power- GoGo boots. Love 60’s music.
First time I can remember hearing this song was in the movie Ernest Goes To Camp. And I did not realize that it was a pun until now, as they used it to put a turtle to sleep. Makes sense in context, or at least as much sense as anything in an Ernest movie does.
Those drums.... Just wow, those drums are from heaven
The whole band decided the name turtles
Did not know that! Interesting information! Thanks for sharing. 😁
This is such a feel good song. Big fan of you Jamal.
Great song. So glad you are reacting to this kind of music . It's classic .
Thank you. 🇨🇮
Wow i love it, an actual live performance. Usually you hear the radio edition!
This song always makes you feel good , even grumpy old me ha ha !
This song really brings back memories of growing up in the 60s.
I Love this song. My only problem with this performance is the striped jacket. LOL!
I play this song for the kids all the time. I’m going to the Happy Together concert featuring The Turtles later this year.
They have a bunch of great songs
I saw The Turtles at a firefighter's benefit along with a few other "oldies" bands in the early 90s. They were the best band and the most entertaining IMO. The tambourine player does Globetrotter style tricks with the tambourine. 😄
After the Turtles, Howard Kaylan and Mark Vollman became a duet called Floe and Eddie, fronted the Mothers Of Invention (Zappa) for a few albums and a movie called 200 Motels, there is a really good Floe and Eddie black and white concert on YT...
