The clocks had already started so he actually only had 37 seconds left when he sat down, and his opponent had 3 minutes. Magnus was even playing with black pieces, and he STILL won. This is also the day after he won his 14th world championship gold medal (this time in speed chess).

It's a special chess rule called "en passant" Here's the definition:
en passant
“A pawn attacking a square crossed by an opponent's pawn which has advanced two squares in one move from its original square may capture this opponent's pawn as though the latter had been moved only one square. This capture is only legal on the move following this advance and is called an 'en passant' capture.”
