    Another very interesting video, thank you. I would be interested to know what was required to receive certain clasps.
    For example would you have to be present for the full length of the siege of Sebastopol to receive the clasp? Would you have to take an active role (eg infantry storming the walls) or would surgeons and other logistical corps be awarded the same clasp if present?

      Hi thanks for your comments. As far as I am aware qualifications for clasps would vary from medal to medal. In most cases however to qualify for a clasp you would have to be with your Regiment and that the Regiment would have to have been present at the battle concerned. The level of involvemen of you within your Regiment or your Regiment within the battle was immaterial. For instance, the cook for the Regiment that was held in reserve and didn't fire a shot all day received the same medal as the man leading the forelorn hope in the thick of the battle. Regards Rob
