Absolutely beautiful intro Scott and such a beautifully done video! The video was quality through and through! I enjoyed this tour. You gave me a lot of insight and respect for these beautiful fish that you keep! I feel that the day is coming soon, that I'm going to want to try my hand at some of these fish! Until then... I'm going to keep enjoying your videos and learning everything that I can! Much love my family to yours! Bravo 👍🙏🌿🐟🌱
I've always liked A. citrinellus and A. labiatus. You have gave me more appreciation of the A. trimac. If only I had tanks big enough to house one of these.
Love the video didn't have to convince me love the Amphilophus. My favorite is the Trimac have 2 of them. One is my U Tube pic. Stay Safe Have a great weekend
Your tanks are so awesome, Scott! I'm inspired to do more species specific tanks rather than trying to jam multiple species into one big tank. I have a big tank (for me) at 220g and it is too overstocked. There's a couple oscars, a couple convicts, a salvini, a jack dempsey, a green texas, a jaguar and a Venezuelan pike (plus a couple angels, two raphael cats, a jaguar cat and a mango pleco). None are fully grown yet, but I definitely see Armageddon coming for breakfast pretty damn soon! What was I Thinking! 🤣
Great video! Big fan of the Amphilophus family. I'm growing out 14 of them in a 240 at the moment, with the hope of ending up with 6-8 males that can cohabitate in an 8 foot tank. I had a red devil in the tank that was smaller or the same size as the others but its aggression was at another level, so he had to go. Right now have 4 creamsicle midas, 1 sagittae, 4 amarillos and, my favourites of them all, 5 barred midas. The barred midas have subtle coloring and the biggest male has been a gentle giant so far. This channel was definitely a factor in getting me hooked on the amphilophus genus. Thanks!
Great review. I like the Trimac but I’m really loving the Amphilophis Citrinellus Creamsicle one. 🔥🔥 It’s on my list of fish to get next. Thanks for sharing buddy 💪🏼
I knew your tanks were large. But when I saw this vídeo wow those tanks look huge. Meaning some of those fish are very big. Its amazing how we lose sight of size perspective on video sometimes, you nailed it on the beginning of this video👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼 great content
Got my first red devil in the late 70s I love the amphilophus complex of cichlids. I love this video!! Scott I’m getting some larger tanks very soon and I would at that time buy some fry from you if they are available, also I plan on starting a channel here on RUclips but under a different name, I’m a firearm enthusiast as well but more so with my cichlids. I will let you know when it up and running😃
That amarillo is a male from what I saw under the dress ;) I own a red devil by the way 14 inches now very lovely fish species love em all Keep up the good work sir!
Mann i need a few am n Lawrenceville ga...I love red devils n trimac I have a 125 gallon and a 55...is there a way I can get n touch....I don't like buying fish from petco because ill end up with a mid devil..and we don't have local pet stores here n Lawrenceville. Thanks and nice video....
Regarding aggression- i think that it always depends on the exact fish. I have Midas cichlid in tank with 8 small fish, he is rather peacefull giant, like he swapped minds with Frontosa cichlid :P
After watching your video I went out and got a red devil. It's about 12 inches or so beautiful fish. I'm having a hard time sexing it though, I think its a boy because it's growing a hump. But I've seen females with humps too. Please, can you help me identify my fish? I can post a few pictures of it in the tank and of the vents .
I dont know the technical names of my cichlids but I have 2 male convicts 1 male jack Dempsey 1 female Jack Dempsey 2 geophagus 1 electric blue jack Dempsey Would love to get bigger tanks and get more I started the hobby with and I will always have them in my fish room aka bedroom lol
Yes you got me into the south and central Americans getting a trimac tomorrow. Hey scott do you know where find some amphilophus lysoni? Thanks. Great work
U and Andy Woods both have great content 💪👍
Andy is my hero for sure!
True💯
I agree with you Scot. I much prefer a trimac to a flowerhorn. A full grown male trimac is such a stunning fish ! Best wishes from the uk 🇬🇧
Loved it dude and love the shout out for Andy 👍
Another great video. Amphilophus are some of my favorite species. How could you not love them. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏿🙏🏿
Lovely species, definitely going to look into these fish when I'm ready to have a single wet pet.
Big cichlids are definitely cool. 😎👍
Beautiful fishes! So good to see more of your fishes.
Great video. Been doing research on this species. You two are selling me on them man. What gorgeous fish. (The chancho stole my heart.)
