A lot of mistakes and things missed…. Keith smart , not smith, Marcus Thornton was never a pg, but rather an undersized sg (and got overpaid after a good half season) , the trade for Vasquez, yes the kings definitely flubbed on Thomas, but so did the rest of the nba with the exception of Boston, who made him look way better than he actually was, the kings weren’t gifted fox, they actually would’ve had the third pick, but due to a pick swap with the 76ers, the sixers kept the better pick, which was the third, which then ainge finessed them for and let Philly trade up to 1 to draft fultz, even though the 10th puck was theirs, collins was not picked for them; they drafted collins for Portland to later trade for the 15th and 20th picks (Justin Jackson and harry Giles, which both were good picks at their spots, but the kings couldn’t develop them), , there’s so many missing things I couldn’t even finish watching. I will give you credit though for acknowledging that not all of their picks were bad at the time they were made. Yo I’m one of the new viewer to this channel, is your video normally like this? As in very less to no real footage on the topic u talk about and mostly narrative on just high school and college game or random nba highlights unrelated to the topic? It’s a bit weird but I hope it gets better!
Sorry about that, no it’s never like this. Basically like I said in the pinned comment I hired new editors to make the quality of the video better. But one of them lied about his credentials while the other was having issues on his own. This video didn’t turn out how I wanted it to but I’ll be showing him the ropes so my productions aren’t as weird like this one. Sorry again, and I hope you enjoyed the video. Check out past ones to get a idea of how it should be 👍
Couple things you got wrong. The 2017 pick for Fox WAS THE KINGS PICK. The Collins pick was the Pelicans pick which we traded down and picked Jackson AND GILES. Goager was fired due to the fact he couldnt get the Kings to play in the half court and Divacs wanted Walton as the head coach because they used to be teammates and he waa from the GSW dynasty branch but Divacs said he was the one who he wanted but Lakers got him first. Also a lot of Kings draft picks during Cousins, there were rumors that he basically bullied EVERYONE and thats why no player developed. He killed Mclemores confidence and many potential players left like IT. IT walked but Kings was able to use as a sign and trade. You also missed Bagley was always hurt, but we was able to get Lyles who has become great for the Kings. I knew the Kings was going to be good when we traded for Sabonis. It was a trade I predicted for Haliburton a week before it happened. I was actually expecting us including a 1st round pick for that trade and a 2nd round. If you were on BR comminity, for the Kings, i was there talking up the Kings. Also predicted us getting Donte because he was a player kings wanted for Bogdan. Also in 2020 kings were actualky good coming out of the all-star break and was actually in contention for the playoffs with Blazers and Pelicans. They were playing like a top 10 offense and defense since the break and was statistically playing as good as the Bucks. Also i think a lot of kings fans would agree the highlight of that season was Kings coming back down 20 in the last 5 minutes of the game vs the Wolves where they say starters aleady and Kings came back with a game tieing scorw where Fox purposely missed a FT and got his own rebound for a dunk and end up winning in OT. The big problem was during the bubble or at least before, 5 Kings supposedly caught covid. Buddy, Holmes and Barnes are the 3 i remember who all 3 came late to the bubble, where Barnes came so late i think he missed games. Buddy and Holmes talking about how bad they felt and gassed after recovering from Covid. Also Divacs wasnt fited, he stepped down as after drafting Bagley he said "if in two years, Kings havent made the playoffs, he would step down." And true to his words and luckily our players did catch Covid and didn't do well in the bubble, despite having one of the higher chances of actually making the playoffs among the teams still fighting for playoffs.
i saw u had production probs going into this video but if ur gonna do subtitles i would not recommend making them small and yellow, and doubly so for not just auto generating them. let some dedicated viewers do that for you so they’re at least accurate
Yeah my bad, hired a editor and he did a few things without approving it by me. That was definitely one of them 😭. Never wanted subtitles in the first place 🥲

Interim coaches. There was only 6-7 actual hired coaches. Westphalt was also an interim coach, I think after Adelman was fired. In technical terms Malone, Karl, Goager, Walton and Mike Brown were actually hired.
The Dave Joerger firing was actually quite simple. He was heading into the final year of his contract and the Kings had two options either extend him or let him go as the option of simply letting him go into the final year of the deal was not going to happen as no coach does that. Think about it who was the last coach to sign a deal and just play it out specifically a new coach of a franchise not a stalwart. Hard to extend a guy who had not got you to the playoffs im not saying letting him go was better but I get it. Also, as good if a coach as he is…he hasn’t gotten an head coaching job since so maybe it was more.
Also the main reason he got fired is he had no schemes and sets. The offense was basically RUN RUN RUN. KIngs only had a transition offense. if you watched those years Kings was soooo inconsistent because in games where the pace was fast and Kings getting into a lot of transition, they would looked amazing but then when they get into a half court set, it WAS AWFUL. That was the main reason there was no extension for him, he couldn't give the Kings an identity except for run run run. He also missed as to how Malone was fired. Kings started 10-6 and then Cousins got an illness, missed 5 games, Kings lost all 5 and it gave the reason to fire him in order to hire Karl.
Westphal was a good coach....in 1993. But the way he "should have used" Tyreke Evans hurt the game and development of every other player on the team. Him and Cousins together was a predictable failure, you can't develop the future best center in the league when the guy initiating your offense is only creating for himself and dishing it as a last resort.
Personally I disagree because he can learn how to be a playmaker. Plenty of cases of players like him who are more ball dominant that learn how to pass the rock later in their career. KD is Brooklyn is a perfect example. Obviously we never got to see that happen, but I could easily see a situation where his size is utilized like it was in college with the correct pieces around him. The rookie season was the foundation, the staff just needed to notice that and devise something. But I guess you can say that’s wishful thinking considering I made a hour long video of how the Kings fucked up at every chance they could 😂
@@Alvini_Linguine you do make some good points. But Evans was never that guy. Theres a reason every GM in the league has stayed far away, and it's not his talent. Dude is in the Knucklehead Hall of Fame. He's half a step away from an OJ Mayo or Ty Lawson. Shame because if he came along maybe 8 years later we are potentially talking about an All NBA guy considering the current garbage style that doesn't win shit except regular season games.
@@Alvini_Linguine you missed a lot. Kings Also drafted Whiteside. If Kings had an actual coach and vets and not have the Maloofs as owner had a competent GM in Evans years. Kings would had been a great team in the early 2010s. Imagine Kings Kept Artest and Martin. Have IT, Evans Artest, Whiteside and Cousins with Martin coming off the bench. I think Kings would have been a contender. 3 all star potential in IT, Evans and Cousins. Whiteside a fringe All star and learn a lot from Artest as a DPOY. Have Martin as the 6th man, 🔥.
i loved the king moves but kevin heuter i doughted the shit out of him & i can admit i was proven wrong on him but the king sabonis for tyresexwas so smart because if you get the best player you usually win the trade
The trade was sooo smart that the Kings didn't lose a pick for Sabonis, while just months later all-star caliber players went for 3 first round picks and swaps. If Kings waited in the off season, we would had lost so many picks.
@@blowc1612 well that was one game for hueter & again he was unless in playoffs again; sabonas was below average unless on the board & cant hit a mid range shot to save his life edit: the king have young depth already
@@justtimes9257 Huerter had a great series vs 76ers. I can't explain his slump in this GSW series but he did hit a couple of big shots in game 6 to close it out. Sabonis can hit the mid-range, I think all the spacing on defense GSW put to dare Sabonis to make the shot got in his head. It doesn't take away of him making it all series. It was just experience of the big moment, this was one of the most watched series in the last 20 years. The huge pressure on Huerter and Sabonis got to them, and like many players before them, there are plenty who take a bad series and work on their game to make sure it doesn't happen again.
@@blowc1612 oh, yes, I completely understand that the playoffs are a different animal, but when I continuously see the same trend where I heard her was nonexistent in the conference finals in the series versus the heat in the Warriors series is a trend no, when it comes to Sabonis, that dude, continuously struggled again and again and again, with the same issues in the playoffs man doesn’t rebound had a good enough level again. His defense is a liability and his Midering shot is nonexistent. She needs to get into the lab with Paul, gasol or Marc a soul to improve his game because it’s frustrating at this point to see him not improve in the postseason.
commentary is fantastic coming from a kings fan fan bjt you nees to use clips relevant to what you're discussing not just random topical poster dunks. Great commentary though keep up the good research but maybe hire an editor 😂
It was never going to work, Evans development was stunted because of the coaching staff moving Evans TO SF. No vet to put Cousins in check that by the time we got some vets like Rondo on the team, Cousins was out of control. Rumors came out he would bully everyone in the locker room and to the point where McLemore lost all of his confidence. People forgot Kings also drafted Whiteside who conflicted with Cousins so he was traded and became a beast for the Heat. If Kings actually had old vets, a modern coach early in Evans and Cousins career, it could had worked. A line up of IT, Evans, Gay, Cousins and Whiteside would had been an amazing line up knowing how their careers turned out. Caspi was descent off the bench and maybe if we kept Ron Arrest to be an actual vet for Evans, IT and Cousins and we wouldn't need to draft Robinson, and McLemore actually developed. Actually an IT Evans Artest Cousins Whiteside line up would had been amazing in 2011-2015. Well balanced offense and defense of might having a small PG but having a bigger SG in Evans. Maybe if Adelman stayed and the Maloofs didn't demolished the team to sell it. Thinking back even more. IT, Evans, Arrest, Whiteside, Cousins as the starters then have Martin, McLemore, Caspi, Thompson as the bench could had been contenders.
Eh, Valdez laid the out the foundation for their current success. Kings, year after year, would give out terrible contracts and Kings would be stuck. Vlade cleared the cap space, kept and added to the draft picks that allowed Monte to build on top of with a lot of flexibility. I blame the Maloofs, Cousins and an over eager new owner for the Kings failures. Divacs drafted Fox and wanted to pair up Fox with a big which made the most sense. Bagley was just always hurt to develop. Also if Kings drafted Luka, Fox would had been gone for a Porzengis trade that was on the table. Divacs chose Fox over Luka to build around and I rather have Fox than Luka. Fox may not have the numbers as Luka has but Fox is a better player to build around and have a team system that has a potential to win chips vs Luka who doesn't play within in a system and doesn't elevate his teammates.
Fox > Dame also Monte is a great GM. He already put together a roster that fits next to Fox and I can't wait to see the tweaking this off season and hope Sasha Venzekov comes from Europe. Fox is developing into a two way player that Dame never developed to. Dame also isn't a natural leader nor a main guy. He is a co-star being a franchise player, Fox is an actual main guy about to enter his prime. If things work out, Fox lead Kings got next after the last generation passing the torch. I think next year if GSW plays Kings in the playoffs, it would be passing of the torch series. Also hoping Bam would eventually join the team being Bam was the best man for Fox wedding and all 3 2017 Kentucky team finishing what they started would be an amazing story. With Bam gonna be a UFA in a few years, he would be a defensive player Kings can improve with to become true contenders.
Refer to my pinned comment. Working with a new editor. Apologies once again. If he doesn’t do what I want him to next video I’ll have to fire him. Wanted more visually in my videos for now on as I grow, but I kinda got sold in the first time around 😭
Speak for yourself, in November i predicted the Kings to be a top 4 seed . My expectations were top 6 coming into the season but after seeing preseason and how well we were playing despite being 0-4 start, i knew Kings had something special especially since Huerter was a favorite player of mine from the 2021 playoffs. If you think im lying, im infamous in BR kings community fighting eveyone from the jump where i kept saying we would be a top 4 seed despite some early loses. Eveb when Kings was one the rise, i was fighting people when we would lose for people there saying we would slip, while people think im being delusional and not until we beat the Clippers in the highest scoring this century, where people finally come to realization that we would be a top seed.
@@ivanamrki where here did I say anything about gsw. It was a close series, and Steph needed a 50 piece all time great performance. The series was 1 shot away from going either way. As Many GSW make it or miss shot could have changed the outcome same as for the Kings like Barnes missing in game 3. First 4 games were close and the next 3 were blow outs.
Also the main reason why Kings traded Cousins was becsuse Kings didn't want to sign him with the new Super Max contract, and wanted to lose to get a higher draft pick, in a very talented draft. Also Malone was fired because Vivek wanted Karl. Kings was doing good and had a winning record like 10-6 and then Cousins caught something and missed 5 games, and Kings lost all 5 which gave the organization a reason to fire Malone and hire Karl. Also fun note, in 2015 season, Rando lead the league in assists for the Kings and it was the year where we also had Seth Curry.
Generally, I usually like and enjoy your videos but Brad Miller's first season in Sac wasn't in 06-07, it was 3 years prior and he was an All-Star that year in 04. If you're going to make an hour+ long video, at least try to get the details correct. I know its hard since the national spotlight wasn't really on the Kings much even during those last 2 seasons that they we're in the playoffs either
There is a story where a lecturer does 10 calculations and got 9 correct. The students laughed at the last one, which was the only incorrect one, forgetting that the other 90% were correct.
There was a lot of wrong information and missed details. Like the 2017 draft, Kings number 5 pick was the Kings pick and the Collins pick was the Pelican pick which we drafted down and never picked Collins and got two first round that became Justin Jackson and Harry Giles. I wanted Monk drafted with Fox...... Which we should had done since those two are amazing. Also wished we just traded that number 2 pick and gotten Bam since the plan was to partner Fox with a big and why not college teammate who shown great Potential in his rookie season. Trade the 2nd pick for Bam, a future first round and players to match the salary..... It would had made the Kings rebuild sooner but then again it would mean Divacs staying and Walton. I like the current organization, coaching staff and roster than the alternative so I guess it worked out the way it should including having Monk next to Fox eventually.
@@DChosen13 this isn't a lecture, this someone making a video about the history of the Kings rebuild and a lot of it was wrong information and missing a lot of important details which made it feel off if you actually know the complete history.
It was a well fought series and the video is about the long rebuild which this season, was the first year of the 3rd rebuild. They lost to a veteran, well coaches, with a top 12 player of all time and might move up depending on how this playoffs goes and they took them to a 7 game series. Kings are now being looked at as a future contender where they are liked by other fan base and a lot of players are rooting for to be good. They are one of the teams expected to be a powerhouse and one of the leaders in the next. The Steph/LeBron era is about to come to a close and GSW are looking to pass the torch to Fox and the Kings. Since the Ja lead Grizz is now seen as the most hated team. The next era seems to be for the West are Kings, OKC, Jazz with Suns being looked at how they'll transition into rebuilding around Booker once KD and Chris Paul moves on in the next year and a half year if they don't win a ring.

Check out past ones to get a idea of how it should be 👍
@@Alvini_Linguine no problem G, it’s still a very well put video. Keep up the Good work. Liked and subbed 💯💯
These kings r the only reason why there are my now third favorite team of all time #LIGHTTHEBEAM

13 coaches is crazy I thought it was only 6 or 7 (ノ゚0゚)ノ~
Interim coaches. There was only 6-7 actual hired coaches. Westphalt was also an interim coach, I think after Adelman was fired. In technical terms Malone, Karl, Goager, Walton and Mike Brown were actually hired.

Why u got high school highlights instead the kings highlights
LIGHT THE BEEEEAM
Sitting here cooked this Nigga Mikey killing shit
amazing
But I guess you can say that’s wishful thinking considering I made a hour long video of how the Kings fucked up at every chance they could 😂
Lmao. Hurt the kings? Evans could had flourish as a guard back then as shooting wasnt much needed back then. Playmaking can be learned lmao....
@@cdeleon3494 obviously you've never actually watched that nitwit play the game. Learning isn't in his skillset 🤡🤡
Have Martin as the 6th man, 🔥.
i loved the king moves but kevin heuter i doughted the shit out of him & i can admit i was proven wrong on him
but the king sabonis for tyresexwas so smart because if you get the best player you usually win the trade
The trade was sooo smart that the Kings didn't lose a pick for Sabonis, while just months later all-star caliber players went for 3 first round picks and swaps. If Kings waited in the off season, we would had lost so many picks.
How can you be so wrong about Huerter?! He was a huge part as to why 76ers lost to the Hawks in 2021. He scored 20+ in that game 7.
@@blowc1612 well that was one game for hueter & again he was unless in playoffs again; sabonas was below average unless on the board & cant hit a mid range shot to save his life
edit: the king have young depth already
@@blowc1612 oh, yes, I completely understand that the playoffs are a different animal, but when I continuously see the same trend where I heard her was nonexistent in the conference finals in the series versus the heat in the Warriors series is a trend
no, when it comes to Sabonis, that dude, continuously struggled again and again and again, with the same issues in the playoffs man doesn’t rebound had a good enough level again.
Oh nah that WAS the editor 😭. Refer to the pinned comment. Making this video was a mess. But we got it handled now
I feel like they pulled the plug to early on the boogie It and tyreke duo
I think you really failed to discuss how much vlade was responsible for their failures.
I'm rooting for fox. Respect the kids loyalty. Is he another Dame? Only time will tell
The edit looks good, but I didn't get all that Mikey Williams footage

Well you did slip. You sliped on GW. It turns out that defense does win championships. How did you fail to predict that?
@@ivanamrki where here did I say anything about gsw. It was a close series, and Steph needed a 50 piece all time great performance. The series was 1 shot away from going either way. As Many GSW make it or miss shot could have changed the outcome same as for the Kings like Barnes missing in game 3. First 4 games were close and the next 3 were blow outs.

If he doesn’t do well this next go around he’s gone 💀. Can’t have that be a representation of me 😭
Also the main reason why Kings traded Cousins was becsuse Kings didn't want to sign him with the new Super Max contract, and wanted to lose to get a higher draft pick, in a very talented draft.
