Omg, I was so worried by seeing the tittle of your vlog at first. I’m glad it’s just the helmets and you’re ok. Anyways, glad to see your dad back in VN visiting you. Too bad your mom couldn’t make it. Hopefully, we’ll see her soon in VN. Happy Lunar New Year.

I knew it was you who we saw when we landed on HCM! hahaha We were the same flight as your father. We watched a bunch of your videos prior to visiting.
Sadly we had a very bad experience on our first night in HCM, police went in our AirBnb and took all our passport and demanded the owner of the AirBnb to pay before we get back our passports. Apparently this is common practice of the police weeks before the lunar new year. But overall, we enjoyed our trip!
So to people going to Vietnam especially HCM, don't give your passport to the police when they go knocking, use both double doors in the main entrance of your Airbnbs and padlock yourselves in.

Hi JC! I was totally i cry-baby that day hehe, i was anxious and disappointed half-happy too many emotions at the same time. Thanks for watching my videos.
That's a weird experience you had on your first night, what was the problem why they demanded to see your passports? what did the owner of Airbnb said after the police left? 🚔
That's unfortunate and unusual 😕 sorry to hear that.
I take note on that and warn others too.hope u still had a great travel in 🇻🇳 thanks for your comment also. 😀 🇵🇭

@@lam1530 that is ridiculous. I don't think they "fear" of getting caught by police because the police are easily bribed in Vietnam and there so many people in Vietnam don't follow road laws but they "fear" of getting caught not wearing a helmet? Those helmets are higher quality. It's just an act of selfishness. I've been travelling to Japan and Vietnam many times. I dont get things stolen in Japan. In vietnam I have experienced scamming with taxi rides and more. So don't cover up with some bullshit. It is what it is.

Consider yourselves lucky. In Vietnam, scamming is a national sport and it could have been much worse for you.
In Vietnam, I got my passport, credit cards and other things stolen 5 times in 2 years. Replacement cards got lost in Viet mail, never arrived. Immigration nightmare took two months, two sets of tickets burned in the meantime. Guy on a motorbike ripped wallet right out of my pocket, I ran after him through traffic screaming bloody murder but nobody cared to help me.
At least six foreigners (including a Russian woman with a child) got cut on the streets with machetes on the street for nothing and the police was mostly concerned with shutting the victims us, preventing them from talking to press. Making sure the story is never punished. Gov't only cares to protect the money that comes from tourism, not tourists themselves.
Vietnam has more scammers per capita than anywhere else I've seen in the world. Decent foreigners almost never go back to this scam land; Vietnam has the lowest return rate in all of Asia (only 5% of tourists return - mostly broke ones).

This is to remind people that aside from petty theft like pickpocketing, and opportunistic theft, Vietnam is generally a safe place compared to most other countries. Actual robberies happen too, but a lot less often than in America for example where everyone walks around with a gun. Ena Franca wasn't robbed at gunpoint, or threatened with a knife (This is what robbery means) Someone just nicked her helmet while she wasn't looking. Bad experience too for sure, but nowhere near as bad as being actually robbed (as defined previously in case you still don't know the difference lol).
