I think a non-professional gear and locker install would be great because you’d probably go through the same obstacles we would too and it might help to watch a video made by someone that has a little more similar to our skill set to ours

Not sure what negative things people could have about this channel?? I feel this is such a good balance between (editing to keep clean + interesting) vs (showing real problems + setbacks) of doing the process along with great production value! I have learned so much! Also want to compliment the balance between the specifics of your project vs the general rules that apply to broader range of builds. I feel like I am slowly going from "I would have no clue what to do" to "do I have the resources to actually try this" and thinking about my own rig's future. Probably due to the fact people are at home in the current climate and not at work, there has been an influx of keyboard warriors who think they are clever but have never lifted a wrench in their life.
A friend of mine can often be heard muttering "haters will always hate".
You have a big enough following to just rise above all that. Which touches on my other point which I will post separately too, we love your stuff. What ever you build we learn something from. Some times it's just the process or just ideas we hadn't thought of. Just keep it up. Please.

You're so candid and honest in how you present material I think it would be beneficial to a lot of us to see the points where you have to adjust, stop and research, or simply take longer to do because you haven't done it enough to be "proficient". I will say I would enjoy seeing you do the gears and lockers because I am doing a superduty swap in my JK here soon. I've never done gears myself but I have done them alongside a gear guy and I feel like I'm in the same boat as you where I feel comfortable enough doing my own gears and lockers but not enough where I would put it on a resume for a shop. I've watched tons of videos on doing gears across a whole board of axle applications and I would enjoy seeing your way of doing them and your thoughts and opinions on the superduty axles themselves. This series has been a godsend to me as there isn't a ton of stuff out there on putting a 10.5 or 10.25 under an offroad rig. Keep up the good work man.

+1 on gears and lockers. BTW, 1” body lift is simple on a Disco if you need more clearance. Only mod is spacing radiator up an inch when done. Then you can build a rear upper shock mount that takes advantage of this added clearance to help accommodate those longer shocks.

Nice! _PLEASE_ Do the gear and locker video, especially if you can give pointers about setting up a used gear set. My rig is old enough that I can no longer get new gears when an old set wears out. Do you have a friend you could shoot the video with or maybe to a collaboration with another channel to do the gears? A gear video like what you did with the suspension would really kick ass!
Dana 25s and 41s can no longer get 5:38 sets new. I had to swap out my original equipment D41rear because I couldn't even find a used set. I now have a narrow-track passenger offset D44 rear, but 5:38s are still tough to find. I'm in for about $1000 in mods before I can even consider a locker that's not the 'lock-rite' unit.
I honestly don't think I even have _those_ options in the front. Heavy, over-the-top rigs have dominated the sport for so long that the market has dropped everything the 'light and nimble' crowd needs. So when the front gearset finally gives out, I'm going to have to find or build a narrow-track Dana 30 to even have options.

I'm a believer in 50/50 on suspension up travel versus down travel. To qualify that, and your situations might be drastically different locally, I live about 30 mins from the Rubicon and an 1hr from Fordyce Creek. These are big boy trails, even after the softening love given to the Rubicon....she's not the girl of her past by any means.

Please do a vid for the gears and locker!
There are quite a few things so far that I would have never thought of attempting but after seeing you do/explain, it makes wayyy more sense.
Between your ideas, knowledge, and fabrication skills, you are a true artist. This is an incredible channel, keep up the great work, Nate!!!

I'm interested in seeing how you do a gear and locker install.
Don't sweat the fact you are doing things nobody else has done and you run into sticking spots. You are showing reality! Thanks for the videos and the truth on how things "actually" go together. Yet again, great info. Keep up the great work.

I think it would be cool to see how you do gears and lockers. I've done gears quite a few times through school and rebuilding axles for friends, and I think it would be interesting to see how others do. I've found that through watching others do things like this I learn something to help me get better at it.

Question about suspention travel, do you beleive front and rear should have the same travel? In my rig. Suzuki Jimny. I would say i have 70 :30 ratio of rear to front. Meaning 70 percent of my flex comes from the rear axel.. Would 50:50 always be reccomended? Ps ignore the haters, they have many other videos they can go watch if they don't like these.

was going to ask asbout the ABS... If you have turned the ignition on with the sensors disconnected, you will need to clear the faults logged, which will keep the ABS lamp on. (as a note, if the lamp comes on, goes off and then comes on again you don't have logged faults.) Get that ABS video up soon! Happy to chat about any issues. ps. I have put the WABCO D system on my Salisbury axle'd 110... basically that is a 1st to my knowledge.

Nice! Just saw this video. I swapped from Rancho 9000s to Bilstein 7100s (no reservoirs) on my Scout back in 2014. '78 Scout II. Huge improvement. I've played with the valving a little and got them better that the factory shim stacks. I like that I can replace parts on the shocks also. Came in handy since the front shafts began to rust. Under the chrome! So inspect those shock shafts.

I’d love to see your gear and locker install video! It’s always great to see different perspectives and techniques for this. I’ve never tackled that myself but I’d love to learn from someone who can do so and explain in simplified lingo like you are good at doing in your videos!!
