The extra effort you are putting into your shots really pays off in the quality of your videos. You have taken your content to the next level. Keep up the great work!!
I'm totally blown away with that "B" roll! The lighting! The Slow mo! The sliding shots! What are you using? Edelkrone? Freakin' buttery! Love the cinematics you did on this one. Your talents never cease to amaze.
You're production quality is great. The side pan slow motion shots are key when you are welding. Those never get old. The fabrication is top notch too👌👌👏👏👏
I hate the beginning of projects when you’re stuck staring at something trying to find the route. But man once you get that ball rolling the fun begins.
Hey folks! I have had a ton of questions about the location of the hinge for the tire carrier. It is hard to explain via text but next Sunday you will see the reasoning behind this location. I have some overlanding accessory ideas that require this to open in the opposite direction of the door. More details in the next video. Thank you for watching!
Kitchen set up soon after is my guess, I’d take a custom-made disco two over any new overlanding rig tbh. Grew up with two and have always been a huge fan. This channel has inspired a ton of close friends and I to build and create more with the resources/trails available to us in WA. Keep up the great work! 🙌
Just looked for the video again to ask the same question as it bothered me. Thought someone dropped the ball :) Can't wait for next Sunday to see the reasoning. Cool rig,
Dude! EMS! Great guys over there. I havent worked with them myself, but he's local to AOAA, and we send all the broken jeep jamboree participants his way and they always come back talking about how great he is. Nice find!
Nate, after building a front and rear bumper with a swing out tire carrier for my old CJ5, using the exact same EMS Offroad spindle kit, brother i know exactly how long this stuff takes!!! It took me 2 weeks of long shop nights to design and build my rear bumper alone. So, thank you for making such an entertaining, and direct-to-satisfaction video! 'Cause i know the hours were long and the days were hard getting here and videos never can translate that. Keep up the good work, man! It's inspiring to many!
Makes me happy to look at your subscriber count and see it nearly 100k more than when i started watching back in February. Well deserved brother. Keep up the great work.
@@DirtLifestyle thanks for giving people the extra bit of confidence they need to take on something like this, instead of spending heaps on something that might not even be what they want.
My Disco's poor rear door has suffered my heavy wheels for way too long because I keep putting off a build like this, which is pretty cool to watch start from scratch!
your videos are great. the production quality is definitely improving, but your fabrication skills and narration are what sells it. your vids have inspired me to get a welder and start learning and creating myself instead of just saying "i would love to learn to weld" and not doing it. thanks for your channel and insight.
You’re videos motivate me to get off my ass and go build stuff in the garage. I’m finishing up my one ton YJ build and have been watching your videos throughout the whole build to not only learn but to gain motivation. Keep up the awesome work and I can’t wait to see the disco wheelin soon.
I love seeing you fabricate something. I love how you show the process from start to finish and don't skip the little things in the middle that may or may not make the final product. That is why your build videos are so much better then others. You show the process as well as the fabrication of the parts. Thank You!
The Disco's coming right along... looking good brother 👍 I just got to camp out in my overland off-road camper build for the first time the other night,it was 33°f outside and stayed toasty warm inside. Got the fenders build, plated the reverse dovetail & built the door for the kitchenette... I'll send you the link when I get the video posted... As always... Keep your tires aimed towards the ground and your eyes upon the Lord 😁👍
Re: production... What you’ve done with the music and slow-mo with the sparks and swirling smoke is very cool. Even if someone isn’t into what you’re doing here, the artistic elements are very cool and entertaining. Great job! And, oh, BTW, super cool bumper/tire carrier ideas!
Tinker and Dirt Lifestyle in the same morning. Good Sunday! Looking good so far! Was throwing some ideas into CAD (for the 100th time) when this popped up. Including a tire carrier! Though I'm putting mine on the back of an overland rack on a pickup....wee bit different.
I think it’s very wise to utilize the OEM style tow hitch. It’s always wise to constantly consider the use of the vehicle when you’re building it so you don’t underbuild or overbuild it.
Lol thank you! Not sure I would consider myself professional but one day with enough experience under my belt I might give it a shot and open up a shop. Time will tell 👍
I know this videos been out for a while but because of your channel I just bought a welder so I can make my own bumper for my gladiator. I’m pumped, thanks man, awesome videos!
Two things that I see, that are weld prep things for any vehicle. 1. Use a battery interrupter to prevent frying any electronics in case of bad ground or weld start surge. 2. Buy fiberglass blanketing to protect paint and body from errant spatter. Makes the job look better.👍
Your videos are some of the best I have seen. The quality of the shots, layout, slo-mo, sequence, etc. are second to none. They are very enjoyable to watch and your ability to explain the content as the video evolves is perfect. As a former finish carpenter and still part time cabinet maker, I can say you level of craftsmanship is spot on. Well done.
I see you put the tire carrier to swing opposite of the rear door. I have not seen that application before. I can see how that would help balance the weight when the tire carrier and door are open. Once again another great fab video. Keep up the great work Nate.
Looks good so far. A higher hitch point would be nice, but it’s not necessary for an overlander. All that stuff from Barnes and EFS sure saves time! Super cheap too.
It is low but I agree. In a overlanding scenario I high doubt it would be an issue. And definitely! These peices from barnes are perfect for this type of project
As always, great build and very nice production value to your content. My son's TJ is in desperate need of some upgrades... as someone that welds for a a living, it's not easy to get enthused to grab a grinder with a cutting wheel on my days off but your videos kick start the inspiration. Great work!
Great job buddy! Love that I found your channel, been watching all the videos in an order I can manage. Keep up the good work. Thanks for the camera angles and your doing great on how much and when to add commentary.
Nate, great video! Your video’s are getting better and better! I am loving learning from your mad skills! My disco is going to become so much better from what you are teaching. Also a WA disco owner💪
I'm really enjoying these videos! I've got an oddball rig I'm slowly setting up for Adventureland travel as well. I'm in need of bumpers, and I'm hoping to do a SAS in the future. THANK YOU for sharing your process. I don't have the tools, work space, or skills you have but, you do a great job of showing a simple process!
Nate, absolutely love your creations. You are an engineer, fabricator and an artist all rolled up in one. It sucks that one little thing always stops the project when you're on a roll. Looking forward to the next episode.
Love that you're doing these instructional videos. As an f150 owner there's not a lot of very good barwork for fenders and sliders and not many good bumpers with features like swing outs for f150s. Gonna have to fab it or pay someone to do it.
Nate, your my fabrication hero, based on your skills, ability to convey your content, your production quality and as the kicker, your local to my area. Keep it up man, channel is awesome. As a side note, some day it would be awesome to see your take on building out your vision of the A team van!!
@IrishStew this is the first van we talked about. I'm very firmilar with the drivetrain on these rigs and I think an overlander astro would be sweet. Lots of awd versions available too 👍
Always great to watch your fabrication from idea to completion. The videography skills have improved so much, love the b-roll slow motion welding. I bought that small level after watching an earlier video of yours, it has come in handy everyday in building my off-road/overland trailer. Cheers, from Ontario, Canada
Great video!! Been watching your content for a while now and I really appreciate the time and detail you put into the videos. You have a real skill in helping people to give things a try. It if doesn't work out like you thought, just try again. Thanks and keep up the great work.
Super cool build! When I built my rear bumper for my WK, I used foam board because it is WAY easier to cut and stick together temporarily than metal. It gave me an idea of exactly how much metal I needed. It also allowed me to see the shape and make changes from the start. Then I could cut the template apart and use the pieces to trace onto my metal and cut out. I love the idea of the boxed bumper to give so much resistance to twisting forces. Mine is single layer and for the hitch, I mounted into the face of the bumper, I get some flex and deflection with the tongue weight (3/16" steel with super heavy duty mounts and 3/8" steel used to reinforce around the hitch. The biggest problem with my tow hitch built into the bumper is that it is 36" off the ground. To reduce torque on the bumper I really cannot use a drop hitch so trailers need incredibly tall tongues. I just picked up a Fleetwood Evolution tent trailer and am considering cutting the tongue off the bottom of the frame rails and welding it onto the top. I did pick up a 10" drop receiver and fabricated some braces that go back to my bumper mounts in the frame rail, but a drop receiver to a drop hitch pushes the trailer so far back, electrical and chain length becomes an issue.
Looks awesome man! Helps with some future plans I have coming. These are some of my favorite videos you do. Kinda brings out the creative side of metal work!
You don’t have to be sorry on what happens or how you do stuff bro! True supporters of your channel will appreciate your work no matter!
The extra effort you are putting into your shots really pays off in the quality of your videos. You have taken your content to the next level. Keep up the great work!!
Thank you! I'm glad someone notices the extra effort lol 👍
Keep it up man. Some seriously skilled work your putting out. This channel will explode before too long
Thanks!
100%, I love this channel.

Super enjoyable video to watch. I really liked the music as well as the slow motion sliding shots
Thank you!

Ah. I didn’t even realize the door swings open to the passenger side. That alone is enough reason to put the tire on the driver side.
Just looked for the video again to ask the same question as it bothered me. Thought someone dropped the ball :) Can't wait for next Sunday to see the reasoning. Cool rig,
as you where tacking it up I was like wait what ? then i seen the way the door opens then I was like ah ok carry on
You should box in the bottom and hinge the top plate for storage!
Yes your cinematography is on point! Thank you for the videos
Thank you!

Cinematography is getting good Nate!
I leave this under every video I watched, it helps the algorithm.

Music kicked on and I thought I was watching a heist movie montage. Solid build but awesome video work too.

I NEED THE NEXT EPISODE NOW THIS IS AWESOME
Lol I'm shoot some of it today 👍 this will be a big one
Great video. I always find it hard to not just video every little step I do. The way you put these together is excellent!! Keep it up👍👍👍
Thank you! It is very difficult knowing what to trim from the story. 👍
Fine job Sir. You've inspired me to investigate learning how to do some
basic welding. Thanks. Keep up the great videos please.

Amazing Amazon Store! Easily answered my question about Magnets! Thank You!
Either you aced strength of materials or you're a genius! This is amazing!
EMS makes a great spindle kit! Great customer service as well
Brah you do a great job. Keep doing you. Love watching the videos 👍.
I love your attitude! I see this channel going far, stay humble. And thanks for doing what you do!
Thank you! I appreciate it!

I’m always amazed at your skills
Very insightful video on rear bumpers. I plan on using your technic on my 85 4Runner 👍👍

good video, you totally need one of those little adjustable height rolly stools they sell! its a lifesaver in the shop and totally saves your knees.
I like how you are always the one helping someone else out, not getting pulled out because you need help. 😆
Lol not true in practice 🤣 I have required help on many occasions!

The hard work you put into each video really shows man. Love this channel, super informative. Hope the RUclips full time thing keeps working out.
Love you work brother, keep it up 🤙
👍 it’s looking good 😉
Thanks!
YESSSSSS! Been waiting for this!
Great video wish you were building one for your dually front and rear bumpers with winches in them. Disco is looking great
Your vids. are well done, rock on bud!!!
Great vid, looking forward to the next installment
Thanks!
Dude, sooo much work! I’m building one for my Disco right now. I wish I would’ve seen this before I started and had the input from you as well 🤦♂️
Keep up the great content Nate! Videos like these give me some ideas for my rear bumper/tire carrier build.
Love it everytime you work on your awesome Disco. Can't wait to see the final build. Looking forward to the next upload.
Thank you!
Great project and very nice work! Subscribed!
I love the ems offroad spindle and plate ! Used it for my own carrier and now on a carrier I’m building for someone else. And some of the best prices
It is a great kit! It is literally all of the elements I was trying to design myself but all in one place
Nice work
Awesome as usuall i keep a spool of flux core around just for tacking when I run out of gas get a lot done that way then finish weld when u get gas

Thank you Nate 😎👍
Love the content my guy this inspires me to wanna custom build all my jeep parts when it comes my Jeep journey
Thank you. I have been beating my head on how to build my swing gate bumper. Have the same spindle kit.
I hope this helps in some way!
Good job man!
You always give me great ideas. so when I rebuilt my rear bumper might add a tire carrier to my mj.
