- Incumbent Democratic U.S. Senator Jon Tester (D) and Republican primary winner Tim Sheehy (R) will debate live in studio without a live audience.
The candidates will debate the issues and answer questions from Montana PBS journalists, John Twiggs and Anna Rau. The unique format will allow for the candidates to present in-depth answers and exchanges on topics important to Montanans. The candidates will also have the opportunity for direct exchanges and potentially questioning each other. The debate is part of Montana PBS commitment to news and public affairs and helping inform and educate our viewers.

Listen to the actual message. Look at the actual action. One message is clear for the issues that matter.
I think the criteria for being in the debate should be that you made it on the ballot. AFAIK, the two missing candidates here are Michael Downey (Green Party) and Sid Daoud (Libertarian Party). PBS wouldn’t even inform viewers who they excluded!

Handouts costs who? Are You going to Pay for 1st time home buyers? How about Taxing tourists. Our homes are unaffordable because there are so many 2nd home owners! So many people come in and use all of our services and roads and the property owners have to pay for it!

Tim Sheehy whiffed a bit on talking about how bad that "border bill" was. He could have given more specifics to explain why it was bad. It legalized a MINIMUM of over 1.8 MILLION illegal immigrants every single year. That's in addition to all legal immigration and "Temporary Protected Status" loophole immigration. So we would have literally still be getting over 3 million immigrants per year. That bill was so bad, it should have ended the debate if he simply elucidated just how bad it was, using specific numbers.
The bill literally prevented a president from closing the border! It actually handcuffed the president from being able to close the border by forcing a minimum level of mass illegal immigration of nearly 2 million a year when that number should be zero. Less than zero, since we should deport the ones who came across under the scam system the democrats set up to allow it so they could flood us with "future democrat voters" to lock themselves in to power.
That bill also sent nearly 100 million dollars overseas tor wars we have nothing to do with. It also did not "send 10,000 'troops' to the border". It sent 10,000+ "border agents", which were mostly asylum judges to make the flood of illegals come in faster and more smoothly. Those extra heads were not at all intended to actually "secure" the border (preventing mass immigration), but to make it faster. Additionally, zero dollars in that bill were assigned to actually enhance the border wall.
It was not a "border security bill", it was an "Open borders bill" with most of the $120 billion in spending in that bill going overseas and not to our border at all.
It was little more than a tax embezzlement scheme that ripped our border open and would have literally prevented future presidents from closing the border. So I thank God that we had enough republicans in the house to vote that abomination down. Democrats always lie about the titles of their bills to make them sound like the opposite of what they do so they can politicize the votes against it later. It's a common, dishonest tactic they always use. It was so bad, there was no way republicans were going to vote for it. But if they did, democrats would have been pretty gleeful that they got mass immigration legalized.
Quite frankly, I think it would have been the worst bill in the history of the United States if it got passed. Oh well.
In Missoula They do those credits to make so called affordable housing. What it did is gave the builder more money and the house and the rents on the multiplex units stayed a market value.

Y'all, this is going to be a close race, and I don't think a lot of people realize that. Having studied political models and data for a while now, I have had this race flip constantly back and forth between red and blue during the election cycle. I don't think that either candidate currently is running away with this race, so please vote, regardless of who it is for; the more people vote, the more we are represented.

It means the baby can survive outside of the womb. It’s safer for the woman to deliver the baby as well. Abortion isn’t as safe as the pregnancy progresses. The baby then can be given to a loving home versus being executed. Late stage abortion is murder and it’s horrendous.

Where someone is from is just a red herring, a distraction from real policy issues. Besides, discrimination based on social origin is unconstitutional in Montana. Thats a very uninformed way to vote especially for a position in the senate. Things could be getting better or worse for reasons totally unrelated to your senator. You should be voting based off who you think has your interests in mind, and who is most capable of representing you.
My personal experience has been that I was about to buy a home in Flathead County in Spring 2020. I could just barely afford it. But the cost went way up and I suddenly couldn't afford it. I still can't afford it so I would like to give the Republicans a chance. I know for sure the Democrats aren't making things better so I've got nothing to lose by voting for Republicans.

Sheehy is parroting the three abortion exceptions talking point. Abortion is malum in se, because life begins at conception. The debate on abortion is OVER. We should invest in technologies to save the mother AND the baby when the mother is in danger.
Go to the of National Institute of Health and look at the percentages of live births versus natural abortions--miscarriages and stillbirths. A woman testified very recently to Congress that she had a perfectly healthy baby in her, but she wasn't making amniotic fluid. The baby had no comfortable cushioning and started breaking up. Who caused that? Who made that woman's womb unable to nurture her fetus? This woman wanted that baby. They had a nursery set up for it. They discussed what they would name it. Who killed that baby? Jesus? Childbirth is not black and white. There's more involved, and one element that should be considered is the decision of a woman, raped or not, to choose whether she wants a fertilized egg to become a full term baby.
How many mothers do you think wanted abortions due to "life-threatening issues"? You realize that's like 0.02%, right? It very rarely happens. I'm pretty tired of the "we need it badly because of all these mothers who are dying!" Almost none are dying because they are denied abortions. Literally more die due to complications from abortions than they do from being denied abortions. You realize that, right?
The argument for that is the same as the BLM argument where they lied and claimed cops were offing blacks in the street left and right and wanted them all dead. Meanwhile, the literal facts were barely a dozen unarmed blacks were accidentally offed during arrests per year. They were acting like it was thousands and that it was some kind of persecution campaign.

That became really clear on the fentanyl question. Fentanyl smuggling has nothing to do with immigration, either legal or illegal. The vast majority, 80% + by DHS estimates, is brought through ports of entry by US CITIZENS or other people who are legal US residents. He never addressed that, nor did he deal with the fact that the border bill that the Republicans killed included funding for increased detection equipment at the border.

How many times did Sheehy emphasize that he is past military, Navy Seal, combat veteran, wounded veteran during the debate? After the debate, I realized that I should have counted. Sheesh, did Stevie Daines advise Sheehy to focus on his military background as many Montanans might bow on bended knee. Sheehy even mentioned his "military" experience caused his obscene comments he made about Montana's Indian population.
For all his parroting of military background, they barely touch on that Tester has been in charge of the Veterans affairs committee and has actively pushed legislation through that helps vets.

12:47 abortion is not healthcare when it’s a healthy baby at 7 months gestation. Extreme abortion laws, any time for any reason are inhumane to the unborn baby. And that Georgia mom who died didn’t die because doctors wouldn’t treat her. She died because she took the abortion pill and her uterus didn’t evacuate both babies fully. She died because she had an abortion and possibly waited too long or wasn’t aware of how serious her issue was or whatever the reason to receive medical care in a timely manner. That happens to people all the time. Not only with this mother. It was a horrible situation and has been politicized in the most egregious way.
Abortion is about healthcare. If a woman miscarries and could die due to complications/infection they need an abortion. 90% of abortions are in the first trimester. for abortions in the 3rd trimester a majority of them are when there are health complications of the baby and if there’s a risk of fatality towards the mother. So you’re wrong it is about healthcare in most cases when it’s necessary.

Comparing covid to abortion is ludicrous. The only extreme abortion laws are the bans coming from about a third of the states. He flip flops. Talking anti government but public land is to be public, which is government. Trump privatizes land which Sheehy would support if he's on the Trump train. Supports abortion bans but doesn't want government healthcare. There's already no government healthcare. Medicare and medicaid contract varous private health plans which drive up administrative costs and causes problem when people move. The 35 Chiefs refused to negotiate with the D.O.I. and stormed out of the 1895 meeting, according to the federal meeting minutes.
Tester also voted for an infanticide bill. Tester spoke with a forked tongue the entire debate. Vote for Tim Sheehy!
