@@shellcracker18 Why exactly do you say that? Being a modern gun is exactly why they need broken in or well more specifically the manufacture process used, in the past along time ago each component was hand made specifically for each gun and time was spent fitting it together, modern guns however are all mass produced on a cookie cutter assembly line and no time is given to clean up metal parts or precision fit parts together in the final assembly, cookie cutter parts are simply pulled at random out a bucked and assembled function checked and test fired with ammo of choice. If you open up a new gun and inspect the metal parts you will usually find that the stamped parts have not been finished and you can see the tool marks from the cutting stamp still and these often lead to friction / noise or a rough feel and after some rounds it starts to smooth out heck some manufacturers have started putting copper lapping compound in the guns on metal parts to speed up the process.

Thanks man. It happens... The reality is, sometimes things don't work right out of the box. The issue is most likely the fiochi ammo, they tend to make their shells out of both thinner plastic and brass, which causes them to bulge and create an issue stripping them from the action. This is common in the 410 loads as well, so much so that manufactures say not to use them in both the taurus judge, and the public defender because they lock the guns up tight.
I feel like the "break in" should have been the first thing to do as well. The Benelli M4 says to shoot 200 hot loads or slugs to ensure proper cycling, I can't see why the Tavore would be any different.

Just got mine a week ago, and did two full mag dumps with it without a hitch straight from the box. They might have did a little tweaking or something since this video.
That actually amounted to a good comparative test across multiple ammo loadings/brands, on a cold day with a brand new shotgun that had not yet been broken in and then needed some additional lubrication (mag tube) during the testing. All in all, quite an informative demo!!!

Mr Tim, I know you “don’t believe in break-in periods” which is fair. You believe a firearm should work right out of the box and a lot probably most do, but you have to understand that break-in is a physical act that happens with every firearm in the world finishes wear off on friction points and hard corners round. Mechanics and materials dictate what exactly happens. If it has parts that wear then it will have a break in period. If a slide has a tight tolerance to a frame and you put it through a break-in period it may l loosen and become the perfect fit. If a slide have the perfect fit out of the box it may break in and loosen. Just an example and my opinion as an Armorer, I’m also a just because you don’t need to clean your AK doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.

Test-loaded a mag tube with Federal 2 3/4" #4. On manual unloading, one of the shells flew out and smacked me right in the eye. It's specifically designed to keep that from happening.
@@jonross377 I don't have to upload a video to prove anything to you. I will tell you my personal experience: Federal 00 2 3/4" shells do not load 5 to a tube, as they are fractionally longer than Federal #4 Buck or Winchester Super-X 00 Buck. They will stay in the tube (somehow, even though the catch is stuck open because of the shell's back rim) if just barely. Also noticed when unloading shells: When removing the shell stopped by the shell stopper (by pulling it away from the gun) there is a chance a shell will fly out of the tube (as is what happened when I got pelted on the eye by a Federal 2 3/4" #4 Buck) or will get stuck about 1/2" inside the tubular mag. I have yet to take it to the range (monetary issues, lol) though I have mounted a Lucid HD7 Gen3, and it barely fits height-wise in the case I bought for it.
Recently purchased new a black TS12. I really like this shotgun. I ran 75 rds of high brass #6 2 3/4". I had one failure to eject early on, but cycled these without fail.
I love reading the comments. People who have a preconceived notion about something - saw a failure a few minutes in and commented because it makes them feel better about what they dont have. They didnt need to watch the rest of the video - they got what they came for. Anyone knows that a semi auto shotgun has a break in period. Nature of the beast. If you dont like that aspect then why watch the video when you know going in that is feature of the gun? It doesnt look like a Mossberg or a Remington so it gets dismissed. I have had my Mossberg fail also - I didnt bash it. I have both a Mossberg and the TS12 - I much prefer the Tavor TS12 in any situation. Opinions may vary and that is fine- I get it.
Thank you for already typing this, as it is exactly what I was thinking - it's amazing what people will conclude after watching part of one or two videos. I just bought one of these about 3 weeks ago - I didn't really need to replace my 3-gun shotgun (Stoeger M3K), but the idea of having 17 shots in the scatter gun (if you ghost load) to start a stage sounded nice, so... As I did with the Stoeger (per Stoeger's recommendation), I took it home, field stripped and cleaned/oiled it, and then started the break-in process of running 150-200 rounds of high power ammo through it. As of now I've only put 120 rounds of buckshot/slugs of a few different brands through it (Browning sabot slugs, Freedom Munitions slugs and buckshot, and some off-brand buckshot I can't recall the name of at the moment), but it has been 100% reliable thus far. Oh, and for those who are saying there is no excuse for a $1,400 gun to jam - have you ever heard of the Benelli M4?
A shotgun designed for serious use, in this price range should function flawlessly with any and all ammunition. Plus, any gun the needs a "break in period" shouldn't be taken seriously.
A suggestion Tim, if you have to lubricate a blind tube like that, try dry silicon lubes, unlike oil it does not attract dust and grit. I would think that this would be the best type of lubrication for any type of magazine really.
Tim, I would really like to see a demo of GHOST LOADING on this gun. Load the magazine fully, then chamber a round and hit the shell release button to get a shell on the lifter. Rotate the mag and top off the two rounds. At least, that is how I think it goes. IWI rep said it's a feature.
Lol I love this channel, no one has worse luck with firearms malfunctioning like MAC. I know its not you but after you pointed it out on the ACR I started noticing.
RE: Fiocchi Buckshot - I’ve noticed the same with this stuff. It’s advertised as 1325fps but recoils lighter than most birdshot. My KSG and VEPR love it.
the commits i read seem to know you very well and they make you sound very honest, it seems to me you are really giving the guns a true and honest test and when you said it could have been your fault about the mag was great to hear as you did not blame someone else like most people do anymore, hey i make a mistake everyday i get out of bed hahaha, but after reading many commits i had to subscribe just because of those who follow you, i need to watch some of your other video;s thanks stay honest and safe
The Ride Never ends I just like the fact that this thing cycles anything. But i mostly run buck and slugs and the fact that you can load each tube with a different load is awesome. The OAL is awesome with its fire power. The benelli M4 is ok. no biggy. Lol. Remington versamax/ Tac-13 does the same thing. Yawn.
I found that Sellier & Bellot 2-3/4" 00 buck shot rounds were 1/8" longer than standard 2-3/4" loads and would not cycle through my Ithaca Mod. 37 at all. 1 shot and jam every time.
Likewise RIO ammo is a bit too long and one can only get 4 in per tube. As s newbie to shotguns I am unused to such considerations... Seems it is necessary to try different loads in a Semi shotgun then use what works reliably.
both are within like $50 of price, both are semi auto, both have the revolving mag with auto load on rotation concept. Yet the 1216 has a self regulating roller delay, holds 1 more round, is slimmer, and 1 pound lighter, has swappable mags, and works even with "reduced recoil" birdshot when i shot a gen 2 one(and it was pretty new)
Bought this gun just recently, and same thing, a couple of malfunctions in the first loads ran through it, then it settled down and ran like a bastid. Oh you bastid! Love it.
Nice bullpup. Liked how the slugs dinged the target. Watch it to the end. Would be a great self-defense weapon to have on-hand. Thanks for the reviews.

Probably has been previously stated but these are quality guns and as any other quality gun it requires around 500 rounds to be broken in and not until then should anything be judged or diagnosed just documented . After 500 rounds it should run great as advertised and if not send it to the factory and let them be aware of the issues . This thing is pricey and for almost 1500 us it should perform extremely well .
Seems like most people who commented didn’t finish the video lol, turned out to break in a little bit and become more reliable. I hope they improve these as time goes on because this is just such a neat and innovative design.
It seems that most gun manufacturers don't quality test their own products. Thank God you and several other Tubers test fire these weapons and expose most of them for the junk that they are. You are a straight shooter. Not even Sig gets a pass from you. Well done.
I've seen several of these now popping up in several of my local FFLs here in north central Indiana. As usual, just doing my due diligence by watching the RUclipss to see if I want to justify spending the money to get one. As for that Fiocchi buckshot. Subpar propellant maybe? Loaded lighter than advertised to cut corners on propellant? Who knows. However, the shotgun check marks the box box in my list of criteria for any auto loading shotguns. This being able to cycle low brass skeet/bird loads. To me, a autoloader is useless if you have to spend stupid amounts of money on shells to get it to cycle reliably.
@@bakedbaker6097 its only somewhat unreliable with mini shells but even then, thats not how it was designed. 2 3/4 shells in a Remington or Mossberg makes them the AKs and ARs of the shotgun world.
@@bakedbaker6097 My 870 is decades old and pumps minis decently but it still will pump one bad every now and then out of the 7 in the tube. They sometimes tend to "Stand up" vertically in the breach.
@@rockerdude8000 🤣🤦♂️ How are slugs irrelevant and why does the military and police still use shotguns? Lever action, pump, or bolt action, maybe. The 12 gauge round itself, never. 9 shot semi auto shotgun, or 30+ round fully auto if you are lucky, is devastating. 9 pellet buckshot x 9 shells = 81 9mm sized holes in under seconds. That many rounds in one target is still faster then any full auto AK or AR, etc. Go into CQB with your firearm against someone with a semi auto 12 gauge and tell me how safe you feel. Better yet just started shouting at them their firearm is "irrelevant" 😁
The srm 1216 gen 2 is a correctly working version of this...as both are within like $50 of price, both are semi auto, both have the revolving mag with auto load on rotation concept, and self regulation of cycling....yet the 1216 holds 1 more round, is slimmer, and 1 pound lighter, has swappable mags, and works even with birdshot when i shot one
Are they still roller delayed? The previous generation, which I have, is a horribly unreliable and dangerous gun. A good friend had his literally blow up in his face when it fired out of battery.
Holy Smokescreen Batman! WOW - Great idea and design - "BULLPUP'S FOREVER" - YAAAAA!!! Oh, now you've done it-I really want one. What a great home defense item. That's not fair, YOU get to have all of the fun..... Thanks to all involved, great vid! Take care, "God Bless", sincerely Randy.
I had been lusting after the TS12 since its introduction at ShotShow 2018. Break-in and ammo issues aside, field takedown and reassembly, magazine removal, and even basic operation seem quite complex. I'd better stick with my 870. Thanks for a great review.
I think this thing is halfway to being awesome. Instead of the 3 tube manual...you have a 4 tube...contained in a cylindrical housing. The cylindrical housing is sprung...maybe with a ribbon spring on the front of the "magazine"...so that you can torque it and have it 'pre-sprung' in just the separate magazine configuration. So, you have one of the cylindrical magazines...say 4 on your chest pouch....they are all pre sprung by previous rotation. You just pop it into the bottom of the gun the way the present gun is set up...you cycle it...once you get to your 5th shot the ribbon spring automatically cycles the 4 tube cylinder and loads. You just keep on shooting without having to manually cycle the cylinder. You can pour through 20+1 shots without having to do anything but pull the trigger. When done just pop out the spent mag and pop a fresh one in. Fixed it for you IWI...donations would be greatly appreciated :D
They are just piece of junk man. Look at this bulky stuff! Ever tried a Tavor? I did...it's just a big joke compared to CZ Bren, HK416, M4, etc... Be serious one minute! there is nothing worst than israeli guns...except Taurus...
I think I'll keep my KSG. One round less but it takes mini shells. I think that rotating magazine will have issues with grit. I'm also not a fan of auto loading shotguns. Great video. You and your channel are my go to source on guns. Best honest channel on RUclips.
I can't get over how much it looks like something out of a "B" Sci Fi movie. Other than that I just can't see "me" spending that kind of money on a shotgun. Granted, I'm not huge into shotguns.
I watched a video from nasg when they interviewed a guy from IWI saying there would be two SKU's offered, left and right version. I would say the right handed version would come out first then the left. If not, I'll send it in when I purchase it.
Feeding wasn't the problem, ejection was. The bolt wasn't traveling all the way back, which yes prevented it from picking up a new round, but more importantly it caused the bolt to catch the shell mid-ejection and slam it into the ejection port. Oiling the action (in addition to just breaking everything in) is what fixed the issue.
@@Militaryarmschannel i think you may need to put a disclaimer if this ever happens again... so many people just clicked off it seems and will probably go away thinking that of the shotgun
My Dad's FN .40 cal stove piped many rounds the first time we shot it. I thought wow, what a piece of shit. Then he found out that it would take many rounds just to break the gun in even. We love it now, knowing that his great grand kids will be shooting it.
@@saltykrug I think you are confusing different Firearms here. The SRM 1216 has the same exact style of magazine as this gun - A helical one, kind of - but it holds 16 rounds instead of 15 oh, and has four tubes instead of three. In terms of the ones with giant box magazines that hang down to your feet, you might be thinking of the Saiga 12

About to say "I'll stick to srm1216," lol. I'm glad I stayed tuned a few minutes longer. Tim and Daddy Thumb are the best FA channel!
Swiggity Swoogity, this will be in Call of Duty.
Nm wrong gun
One of the best reviews / informational videos I have seen. Thank you!
These are so cool. Man the 2nd gen of these are going to be the real deal. Great video and demonstration, ty.
Y’all on here complaining about the shotgun need to watch the whole video
My only complaint is that it needs to be 12 inches taller
A shotgun designed for serious use, in this price range should function flawlessly with any and all ammunition. Plus, any gun the needs a "break in period" shouldn't be taken seriously.
@@theaveragewoodsman6002 exactly! My mossberg 500 runs fine...
@@chriskelly509 thats a pump, we are observing semi auto...

A suggestion Tim, if you have to lubricate a blind tube like that, try dry silicon lubes, unlike oil it does not attract dust and grit. I would think that this would be the best type of lubrication for any type of magazine really.
Great video, everything IWI makes I want.
Solid review. Show us the good, the bad, and sometimes the ugly. Keep up the great work and proud to support such a great channel via Patreon.
Thank you brother!
Tim, I would really like to see a demo of GHOST LOADING on this gun. Load the magazine fully, then chamber a round and hit the shell release button to get a shell on the lifter. Rotate the mag and top off the two rounds. At least, that is how I think it goes. IWI rep said it's a feature.
yes that works this gun can hold 17 if you ghost load it. mine functions fine w everything I've shot i was shocked to see this video have failures
Lol I love this channel, no one has worse luck with firearms malfunctioning like MAC. I know its not you but after you pointed it out on the ACR I started noticing.
This guy is like the bob ross of guns🤦♂️👍
Haha!!!! That is awesome!
RE: Fiocchi Buckshot - I’ve noticed the same with this stuff. It’s advertised as 1325fps but recoils lighter than most birdshot. My KSG and VEPR love it.
can’t be onboard with this one until i see 80’s hip fire
the commits i read seem to know you very well and they make you sound very honest, it seems to me you are really giving the guns a true and honest test and when you said it could have been your fault about the mag was great to hear as you did not blame someone else like most people do anymore, hey i make a mistake everyday i get out of bed hahaha, but after reading many commits i had to subscribe just because of those who follow you, i need to watch some of your other video;s thanks stay honest and safe
I believe that the US marines will continue to use the Benelli M4
67claudius Yeah, I don't foresee military and law enforcement giving up their Benelli's any time soon
I would choose this over a benelli m4 any day and I’ve owned 2.
The Ride Never ends atleast it will cycle light loads, the benelli m4 had issues with some light loads
Yawn.
@@therideneverends1697 they said this gun can he ised for Hunting mainly throwing slugs and heavy buckshot at game like deer.
Any chance we can see the Silencer Co Salvo 12 tested on this?
Excellent job on this review Military Arms Channel!
I came here to see if Tim could break this gun too. 1 minute in and satisfaction... Tim is the ultimate proving ground
I feel like the 1216 did the revolving magazine shotgun better imo
My first thought is well. It definitely seems to be more ergonomic, more mature, and just a better overall design than this.
Yea but the 1216 is a piece of junk lol 😂
bushman 223 I beg to differ on that
@EDC You kidding? This thing's best feature is how awesome it looks. 1216 just looks generic.
both are within like $50 of price, both are semi auto, both have the revolving mag with auto load on rotation concept. Yet the 1216 has a self regulating roller delay, holds 1 more round, is slimmer, and 1 pound lighter, has swappable mags, and works even with "reduced recoil" birdshot when i shot a gen 2 one(and it was pretty new)
Mine did the same exactly. I have a vortex AMG on it, what a fun easy gun to shoot.
A few minutes in and already the MAC curse has presented itself
Love me some Bullpup. [As long as they work]. Thanks for the honest evaluation.
I seriously don’t know how they didn’t think to put a ratcheting VFG on that mag tube to make rotating it fast/easy.
Bought this gun just recently, and same thing, a couple of malfunctions in the first loads ran through it, then it settled down and ran like a bastid. Oh you bastid! Love it.
so randomly in middle of video Mac started vaping :D
Man that gun is a beast, an absolute must have in my opinion and I've never even shot one let alone see one until just now for the first time!
This thing looks like a clockwork nightmare
Nice bullpup. Liked how the slugs dinged the target. Watch it to the end. Would be a great self-defense weapon to have on-hand. Thanks for the reviews.
Its so large and bulky, i wonder if the juice is really worth the squeeze. $1200 is alot for a semiauto shotgun. Thats Beretta 1301 money
nc_classics _ yep, i'm choosing the 1216 which way sleekier than TS12. But still, i want to see how this shotgun performs.
Ian will be reviewing these on forgotten weapons in 30 years and you know it
@@undercoverhustler37 probably just a year or two lol
As for dishing out the 1200 on a 12 gauge defense gun id rather buy a few more 870s.
River and Makarov, you two need to finish watching the video damn it
@@s00-x2h yah I did, the gun ran fine with high velocity loads. I don't waste my money shooting high power loads when I'm target shooting and no one else should either. In the day and age when you can get a semi auto shotgun that will cycle anything for under 800 why the hell would you buy this bulky monster? so you can fit an extra 7 rounds? if I don't think 8 rounds of 12 gauge will cut it then ill move to a semi auto rifle.
Has Tim "reviewed" a single shot 12 gauge? Thing would just turn to dust if this keeps up.
No step on snek.
Every MAC channel gun review, “ Alright we have a malfunction “ 😆👍🏼
Me when I see it on the IWI FB page: “Meh”
Me after I see Tim run it: “Take my money!”
Seems like most people who commented didn’t finish the video lol, turned out to break in a little bit and become more reliable. I hope they improve these as time goes on because this is just such a neat and innovative design.
I don't like the magazine release is inside the trigger guard. I wish it was on the side like x95
It seems that most gun manufacturers don't quality test their own products. Thank God you and several other Tubers test fire these weapons and expose most of them for the junk that they are. You are a straight shooter. Not even Sig gets a pass from you. Well done.
Eric Zeigler did you watch the whole video?
Eric Zeigler the gun works dumb ass
They send Tim all the defective guns.
I love linking your videos to squish my buddies' exactment over new things
5 minutes into the video and i have to say i love that bolt action shotgun
hmm big, clunky and complex, seems like there are better options on the market.
Pump is the way to go all day everyday.
@@bakedbaker6097 its only somewhat unreliable with mini shells but even then, thats not how it was designed.
2 3/4 shells in a Remington or Mossberg makes them the AKs and ARs of the shotgun world.
This isn't 1897 shotguns have been made irrelevant in the 21 century doesn't matter if it's pump or semi
@@Sig_P229 good points made in defense of the gauge! gauges are no joke
Great honest testing, thanks mate.
I swear I'm on the toilet Bluetooth still connected the second I'm done I hear ohh that was gassy
Great job on the video, very informative I think I want one of these now, Keep up the good work
That fiochi might be a little temp sensitive on top of being loaded light.
My M2 wont cycle that Fiocchi ammo either. Cycles everything else I have put into it, including tons of weak birdshot.
@@Alpha-Leader same here
The srm 1216 gen 2 is a correctly working version of this...as both are within like $50 of price, both are semi auto, both have the revolving mag with auto load on rotation concept, and self regulation of cycling....yet the 1216 holds 1 more round, is slimmer, and 1 pound lighter, has swappable mags, and works even with birdshot when i shot one
Are they still roller delayed? The previous generation, which I have, is a horribly unreliable and dangerous gun. A good friend had his literally blow up in his face when it fired out of battery.
(Gun manuf) “so how can we get this gun to fail?”.... SEND IT TO MAC!

@@ogmikep84 he's right. The thing is finicky.

YES! I NEED this! Love IWI!
Its a quick load if you practice with dummies to get used to the functions. 4 tubes , really not needed. Practice !
Israeli guns are so great they make me want to dance!
Big brain
Zach cash I had a Jericho a while back. I miss that thing. Should’ve never sold it.
I agree. People don't know that the IDF has one of the best coordinated dance teams in the world. Just Google "dancing Israelis".
They are just piece of junk man. Look at this bulky stuff! Ever tried a Tavor? I did...it's just a big joke compared to CZ Bren, HK416, M4, etc...
Be serious one minute! there is nothing worst than israeli guns...except Taurus...
Very nice review. Thanks!
I think I'll keep my KSG. One round less but it takes mini shells. I think that rotating magazine will have issues with grit. I'm also not a fan of auto loading shotguns. Great video. You and your channel are my go to source on guns. Best honest channel on RUclips.
Great video! Really helped me with my Tavor TS 12!
It really looks like you just didnt rotate the magazine into position at the start, causing it to misfeed.
I seen that too. I just got mine in the mail yesterday & had to get used to that. Then It ran everything perfect, 4 different slugs and buckshots
It really looks quality, I like for some reason
So everyone made their opinions and comments 3 minutes into the video
Pretty much. Sometimes guns pull out of the rut they find themselves in as we continue to shoot.
Impressive Tim. It looks like a winner too me. I think the SRM 1216 is a good shotgun if you use high brass steel shot or high brass buckshot.
A shotgun is supposed to be simple. This is not simple.
Great video as always.
I got to get this to keep my TAR 21 company.
That thing was gassier than Swalwell doing an interview on MSNBC.

Also put 20 slugs thru and no issues. Great home defense gun.

Looks like a worse, less reliable, lower capacity, less ergonomic, and generally stupider looking version of the SRM 1216
It worked fine after 4 or 5 minutes though. I like a 15 round shotgun without a 3 ft mag sticking out of the bottom.
Typical of most new designs, needs a box or ten to break in cycling. Looking forward to seeing the review of the Tavor 7 to finish off the collection and my curiosity, thanks for the review.
