- Three years ago, I had the opportunity to pass a resolution at the 2013 Federal NDP Convention, recognizing Jaswant Singh Khalra as a human rights defender.
20 years later, we continue to remember a man who fearlessly fought for human rights in the face of extreme danger, and in fact became a victim of the very same injustice he fought against.

I was only 10 wen the 1984 horrific murders, rapes ,torture happend. Recently, ive been watchin, hearing the fight by Jawant Singh Khalra. Its disgusting what happened 2 my mothers,fathers,brothers,sister. Am soooo angry that it occured, & no1 has been held accountable. ?? If u see this message Jaswant Singh, pls , how can i support this cause, the justice that occured to many sikh ppl is disgusting, its disturbing. Pls message me. Since you always talk about human rights violations and always bringing the issues of other countries, why don't you talk about the genocide that's happening against Uighur Muslims in china. I think that's an important human rights issue right now rather than talking about what happened in the past in different countries of the world.
