Exactly it was months before covid, we were in such ignorance and bliss 😆 I saw this move from Classic live and I was absolutely blown away as well, it was one of the most epic things I saw in sc2
His last major tournament before he went he went to the military. We was the best Protoss in the world back then. I hope he reclaims that title one day.
I was in the audience too. This was by far the most memorable part of the finals. The game balance that patch was so laughably in favor of Zerg. Classic won that tournament in my mind, because he didn't just bring out this tactic, but he was also the only Protoss I saw move out aggressively against the swarm hosts that kept other players pinned in their bases. He was SO CLOSE to breaking that massively imbalanced tactic.
I was in the audience when this happened. The energy in the air when this build came out was unforgettable. This is how I like to remember the last Blizzcon finals ever. This was the way for Starcraft to die.
Don’t practice this…I mean practice using DT’s and blinks at some point because their used to snipe Terran PF’s in late game, but not this build you have more important skills to master in silver

@@glennjanot8128he didn’t have an overseer. He could have blinked on top of spore crawler. Or blink micro away from detection. Classic got really scared here
because zerg main base (hatchery) morphs into higher tiers which is how they unlock new buildings/tech, so if you kill it they have to start over and build a new hatchery and then morph it again before they can start making higher tier buildings/tech
I remember that people would do this in Starcraft BW a fair bit. I don't know why it seems so rare in SC2. There was even a bug in BW where you could get DTs to travel over cliffs too, but that was bug abuse cheating (and I think maybe required a hack too? I don't remember), and was never even really encountered in public games for that matter.
It's an expensive upgrade that takes longer to cool down than stalkers and takes longer to research too. so pretty poor for a DT blink rush strat. but if you like using them, it's worth having if only to escape detection or pursuit easier. It was originally viewed by most as a waste of resources on a unit that is plenty useful without the upgrade for its intended use, but as seen here, shenanigans can make it more potent. And Yeah they decided mother ships recalling armies into hostile bases was a bit strong and not fun gameplay to watch Protoss sneak a mothership around the map while turtling at home, so decided to move recall to the Nexus on a global cool down to let Protoss not die to Zergling run by or terran drop play when trying to maintain map pressure.
@@BOMBON187 because Zerg has won the last 7 of 8 world championship titles because they're overtuned as fuck. I'll be waiting for the ghost commentary following this.

Was such an awesome swansong performance from Classic.
I totally lost my mind when i was watching this, back in the day.
I'm glad both are still playing.
Are you in mental asylum now?

I kinda missed all the HOTS tournaments and first few years of LotV. I have to catch up.

It was so unexpected that Classic said that this was a one game tactic only
yeah right i made gm going pure dts for like 5 years, never did anything different

To make matters even more hilarious, this is the game that followed a successful cannon rush.

@@backagain4896 bro i was not playing sc 2 for long time now i am diamand yesterday and i didnt know dts can blink wtfffffffffffffffffff
I knew zeratul could but not regular dts till recently
Even better previous game was one of most disgusting cannon rushes ever
And this is why everyone hates Protoss
Artosis sounded like he was having a mess in his pants
I mean, that's not that unusual, tbf
Just like mario
missed the chance to call it a "classic move"
I remember this like it was yesterday. I was watching this on the beach while on vacation lol
I’m just coming back into sc2 from legacy of the void. What have I missed for dts to get blink.
A nice play. Should have Missing Impossible theme song in the background to be honest.
good old days with crazy games
The only person did in high level. I got jaw drop when this happen
Oh no he called them adepts at the end
Sorry, what did he call them at the end?

Reminds me of bw. Used to do zealot killenemy nexus. Very popular move toss vs toss
What generation gave DTs blink?
such bad crop.. cant even see whats going on.. horrible cuts
Sounds like Artosis is casting this
It's Artosis.
And Rotterdam
How does DT blink?
This is so normal today lol. This was mindblowing back in like 2016 lol.
Let your plans be dark and impenetrable as night, and when you move, fall like a thunderbolt.
Protoss: work smarter not harder.
lo ví en vivo... y fue lo mejor ❤ No sé si se volverá a ver a Protoss de este nivel
What game is this ?
Starcraft 2
Blink that range is so ridiculous. It could be just small
Dt with blink?
Ah yes, the good old classic Dark Templar attack.
Dt can blink?
Artosis with the epic reactions. Artosis is so amazing.
Who is the other caster?
How do dts blink?
8 workers and a lair isn't a massive amount of damage. I assume he was going chargelot/archon as a follow up?
In the context of this game it was absolutely massive, he couldn't get tech or upgrades to fight the archons
Wow ive never seen sneaky hoys be sbeaky this is amazing i wonder if more players even knew that DTs could stealth.

:(
I'll never forget this moment
Pulling up on the opps and just waiting, because he knows they aren't a threat.
классик - это ник?
As a Terran player seeing blink DT’s gives me a little PTSD lol! They were always so annoying to deal with
Why? A single scan can wipe these dts in seconds

This stopped rogue from being a 2 to world champion
Always remember ...the one rainbow pony mount in wow earned more money than SCII as a full game
Who won the game?
honestly it feels like he could have jumped on the spore and ended the game, that was the only detection
He literally played out an action movie in like a minute and a half
That strategy is why I make sure to make sure to keep banglings near main to handle that.
Classic SC2.... Does anyone know the announcers?
that's artosis and rotterdam
absolute beast move
I won a 20 min noon match no fighting Terran vs Zerg I had bc’s he had an entire upgraded ball and I just warped to his main and kill his 1 hive
Why did he blink out and recall? He could have killed all those zerglings
But he would have lost most of his DTs. As you could see in the damage they took, Rogue could see them
@@glennjanot8128he didn’t have an overseer. He could have blinked on top of spore crawler. Or blink micro away from detection. Classic got really scared here
