You're slightly downplaying just how good the display is on this one, it has quantum tip technology and a whopping 140% srgb colour gamut and 1200:1 contrast ratio. The colours are vivid and the blacks are very black. Its the best display ive ever seen on a display tablet

This screen seems beautiful - if you have this device can you speak to the 1080p resolution at all? Are the pixels super apparent and does it detract from your working with the product? Thanks!!!

    • @TheHorlord
      @TheHorlord 3 года назад +16

@@danacraft-parker104 You will see the pixels if you lean in looking for them, but it takes concentration to see them and you wont notice them while working. Your brain actually blocks out information like that quite well.

@TheHorlord thank you! I’m having a heck of a time deciding between the 22 plus and the pro 24... I figured it would come down to Black Friday and screen resolution. (The 22 plus frankly has a bit better design in my opinion after watching all the reviews... no side buttons isn’t a deal breaker for me, the less components... the fewer things that can break. Plus, that pro 24 looks like a monster - so many inches from edge to working screen.) My general sense from comments is that the 1080p - looks very good on this screen.

im an animator and have been using an xp pen 15.6 pro for a little over 2 years i believe... and its worked great but i wanted to move to something bigger . my kamvas 22 plus came in yesterday and its amazing !!! huge upgrade over the xp pen. the 22 plus has less parallax (nearly none) then the xp pen , but the biggest thing i noticed is the pen. the pen this 22 plus came with is way better then the xp pens one. i got alot of wobble with the xp pens pen and the tapers were not nearly as nice. also the xp pen tip depressed alot compared to this one the 22 plus has a way stiffer pen tip. it went beyond my expectations and i couldnt be more thrilled with this purchase.

That sounds great. Mind if i ask about the screen? Do i need to use a film protector or it's not necessary? The 22Plus says that it's fully laminated so i'm not sure. If i get this tablet i don't want to leave any scratches on it by just using it daily.
Hope you see this comment and thank you in advance.

@@AccelSternritter hey, late reply, but the Plus and Pro models come with an etched glass, and scratching it is pretty much impossible (at least for me, I'm a rather light-handed artist). The Kamvas 22 (non plus or pro) only has a matte screen film glued on top, just as the Wacom Cintiq 22, and these tend to get scratched pretty quickly. I have my 24 Plus for 6-7 Months now for heavy duty on a daily basis, and it pretty much looks like it just came fresh out of the box

I think this pen display is the best i've seen yet, outside of Wacom. The initial activation rate is lovely. That's something i've waited years for Cintiq alternatives to catch up with and it's finally here. I've had this display for a few weeks now and I adore this thing. I've tested Cintiq's that were not this good. Older models i'll admit, but still more expensive to this day. So I highly recommend it for the performance and price. Brad wasn't as enthusiastic about it as I hoped, but i think it's fantastic.

Hey I am currently thorn between this one and Wacom cintiq 16. Basically the same price but I have my hesitation on Huion as they say the resolution is too low for this size screen. How is your experience regarding that issue? How obvious are the pixels really?

@@zalaj9746 I have been using the 22 Plus for a week now and it's very nice to use. Pen feels great, colours are great too. The resolution is not too low for me, Im a professional illustrator and it suits me just fine but you have to decide that for yourself. Depends what you are used to and if coming from a higher resolution screen. For the money it's brilliant. If you want or need more then you have to spend more.

I have both Wacom Cintiq and Huion Kamvas 22 (2019), and I'm actually surprised with the quality of Huion Kamvas. Huion has this paper like texture on its screen, which makes illustration comfortable. Meanwhile, Wacom feels glassy. Also Huion Kamvas only uses 1 connection, which is a type C usb. Meanwhile, Wacom has these 3 cable setup. What's more surprising was I bought the Cintiq for 35,000 Philippine pesos ($730) and I bought Huion Kamvas for 19,500 Philippine pesos ($404).

Hello, Brad. Thanks for this review of Huion's latest tablet. It looks great, but, the only thing that I'm not happy with is the fact that it doesn't have hotkeys to work with.
But, you know, I've never thought about this that you mentioned in this video: that you can use this tablet as your main screen for your desktop pc. For a digital artist, perhaps buying a pen display tablet instead of a normal monitor will save a lot of money if you're going to buy a desktop.
Lately, I've been thinking about buying a new desktop PC and a new tablet like this one. Still haven't decided whether to buy a Huion or a XP-Pen tablet. But, after watching this video, now it made me thinking: If I'm going to buy a pen display for my computer, is it worthy to buy a monitor? What do you think?

Uh, sorry to bother you but honestly from what you described to me what suitable for you most is a standalone tablet like surface or any windows based tablet
Pretty much hassle for drawing machine also it sips more power even though you're just using this tablet as main display unless you have an expensive large 27inch drawing display then, it's doable.
I've already count the budget and a tablet cost same or less than buying a desktop (depending on your configuration). Lastly it's up to you :
      A. Practicality (all in one tablet)
      B. Hassle (room space, power consumption, high price of prebuild machine)
      Forgot to add
Used to thinking about buying a desktop but then got me thinking if i wanted to show my physical client the results always have to upload the results or have to carry flashdrive.
Instead of simple clicks with decent sized Build in display i can draw&carry anywhere

This issue was very prevalent in Kamvas pro 13 and 12, There would be no paralax in the center of the screen, but it would get bigger the closer to the edge you went. I even remember you mentioning it before on different tablets.

Vladimir, I was between the 22+ and the 24 Pro. Leaning toward the 22+ due to price, but ended up buying an XP-Pen 24 Pro instead as its on sale and from research they all seem comparable.

Vladimir Finn Rikowski Yes and agreed I wanted the 22+, and if all costs were the same I would bought Huion. But I think in the next 2 years all these displays will be quantum dots, and the XP Pen ended up costing 720 dollars give or take, so thats why I went that way. Been also researching and in this conundrum a while myself. Previously a Wacom user. But price / benefits hoping I made the best choice :).

      @pc1x1 4 года назад +2

Vladimir Finn Rikowski no worries I went through the same thing. Part of me was like forget, just buy a wacom 32, call it a day. But the price difference is too great. Wacom needs to wake up and get off their high horse. 1/3 the price for 80-90% function. And honestly an artists actual skill will greatly out weigh the tablets short comings. I also have an ipad pro 12.9. Its great but I dont like drawing on it for some reason. I think you should go with a chinese brand one, the used wacom prices are too high for ancient tech.

Am I the only person that slaps a screen protector on a screen these days?
10 yr ago I had a 12 inch wacom and scratched the hell out of it with daily use. Bcos I didn't have a protector on it. I bought a 22hd from Wacom and put a screen protector on it from day 1.
I have a 12inch ipad pro now with a screen protector.
These devices are too expensive not to protect the screen.
I do need a bigger screen for some of my commissioned work.
My question is, should I buy the Huion 22+ or XP-PEN pro 2nd gen? I would put a screen protector on the Huion. But if I'm going to do this should I just get the XP-PEN bcos it's already got the screen protector?

Hey Brad! Greetings! As always, thank you for another fun and informative review. I'd like your (and anyone else in the thread) input and opinion on my next investment. I am 51 years old and I design and illustrate. I have had an been using a 24HD Cintiq for about six years (a 21ux before that and Intuos pad before that). I like it a lot, it's been in my workflow every day except.. it's killing me a bit and I'm a regular at my chiropractor. This device in my opinion, is just way too big. (It's hard to access a keyboard and mouse when needing these peripherals. I do have it mounted on a Ergotron - LX Desk Mount Monitor Arm. This display is HEAVY and BIG (30" x 18" - viewable is approx. 20 x 12.25" ) (1920 x 1200), it's so heavy that the arm droops. (also, the arms never seem to get the displays low enough unless the angle is higher that I would normally draw. So, what is your current favorite display list current? I'm not missing 4k experience and am fine with 1080 ( I wear glasses when I draw anyway), my question for you... What brand(s) and display size would you consider the best (currently)? I don't mind saving money : ) Lastly, what about going back to a regular non display tablet? Any help, suggestions or ideas are greatly appreciated!

Apparently, the Clip Studio no-pressure thing is a deliberate limitation based on your subscription level.
You need a full license rather than a phone license, to get pressure sensitivity.
It's baffling. But that's what they're doing, from what I understand.

I ordered the Kamvas 22 and it came with a yellow color gradient on the screen, returned it, ordered a Kamvas 22 PLUS instead and it came already opened (it didn't have the plastic on the screen that you have to peel before you use it) with a heavy calibration problem, the cursor would get offset when moving to the sides of the screen and severe jittery on lines and a DEAD PIXEL very near to the middle ofthe screen, the cursor offset didn't get fixed after many calibration attemps, this is the 4th time I return a Huion tablet, last time it was on 2018 when I got the Huion Kamvas Pro 22 (2018), after returning those (which came with defects too like ghosting and a faulty digitizer which messed up the pressure curve) I decided to wait for a new version that would hopefully fix their quality control, what is this? Why is there people I see and reviews claiming that these tablets are just as good as wacoms, or at least "90% of a wacom tablet" when it still has problems like JITTER? or basic calibration stuff, did I really just get 4 bad huion tablets in a row in the span of 2 years and everyone else has been lucky? What IS THIS? Are these tablets really good or not? I want to upgrade from my Cintiq 16 to a biggers screen and in no way I will spend what they want me to spend on the Cintiq 22 (which is expensive as heck for just a screen size upgrade relative to the 16) and the Cintiq 24 is WAY BEYOND in price, I want to support these alternative options but I want something that WORKS, these alternatives are still expensive even if they're cheaper than Wacom's but that doesn't mean I'd just accept any tablet if it doesn't reach at least the bare minimun when it comes to functioning acceptability.

For the Cintiq 16, you'll pay more for the pen features but the tradeoff is color accuracy, size, and stand. For me personally, Wacom budget lineup ain't worth it.

I can't decide between this, a Goamon PD2200, or ponying up some more for a Huion Kamvas 24 Pro 2k. I don't think I can justify a $2000+ Cintiq for now. I've had a Yiynova mvp22u for almost 7 years now and it's showing its age, plus requiring a battery in the pen is annoying and the pen is fragile. Already broken it once tightening it down just a tad too much after replacing the battery.
