Good question. I’m thinking it’s for safety reasons. Makes it more noticeable in the evening/night hours and more noticeable when people glance in their review mirrors. Also it makes it easier to see for people waiting at the suburban stops where many times they will raise their hand and hail the bus to let the driver know that is the bus they are wanting to board.
Ok, so capital of the US has a PILOT PROGRAMME .. for a paiting one of their 4 lanes red , spending 10K and proudly saying "If it will be quicker than be in car, people will use it" ... yeah, thaaa... this is like a family guy parody of the US , not an actual reporting :D jeeez .. and yes ... you need to have different routes for buses , not to put them on your main road be in trafic as anything else, next thing: Use the traffic lights to prioritize the busses, yeah and use some side streets for bus only to make diffrent route as trafic and be free there :) .. you will be closer to residents and have quicker service
Sections of DC (and every other American city) should be completely carfree.
🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲🚲👍👍
Yes, bus and bicycle only streets
The USA in 2019 : "look !!!! dedicated bus lane !!!! bus is quick and practical !!! we are so smart!!!"
0:58 $10K for bus lane project, red pavement paint key
We need this in Kansas City badly.
...and in Europe we have tons of bus lanes already. At least theyre starting
Why no protected bike lanes?
What are the yellow lights on top of the buses for?

next step is making the busses run on natural gas like the dutch do or electricity
