The official start of our US road trip VLOG. We hired a car, rented camping equipment and left San Francisco for Yosemite National Park via a quick one-night stay in the wonderfully-named Tuttletown.
Part 1 covers our journey getting to Yosemite. Part 2 (coming super soon) will show the rest of our amazing time in this beautiful National Park.

Hi, we're Mike & Steph. A couple from the UK who love to travel. In 2021, we quit our jobs, bought a camera, and set off to explore the world! So far we've experienced the beautiful nature and culture of Central America, and currently we are on a US roadtrip through the national parks!
We created this channel to keep a video travel diary for ourselves, share our adventures with friends and family, and hopefully inspire people to see the world as it begins to open up again :)

Aside from the earthquakes, floods, fires, draught and being probably the 2nd most expensive state in the U.S. California is my favorite state, (at least from the 20 I know) and San Francisco my favorite city in the country.

Yosemite is one of my all time favorite National parks! Did you know, according to legends of the local Ahwahneechee people, at Yosemite Falls…the base of the pool is haunted by several witches?!!! 🧙♀🧙🧙♀
Aww. I wish you were able to see the falls in their peak flow, around May. It's more beautiful there when the water is at its peak.
We are gutted to have missed it! Definitely on our list to return in spring time at some point!

We can relate with the packed car! Ours has been packed to the top since we departed on our trip. Wow! That's so crazy y'all were the only ones at the campsite. I would also think its freaky haha. Were you nervous for bears? The smoke is unfortunate, there's a lot here in Colorado right now too.

The organisation of the car has gone significantly awry after the month or so we've been doing this 😂 The smoke situation got better quickly for us, and now we're in Utah and there's none! Sorry to hear it's hit Colorado pretty bad though.
We've been on the road three weeks now (wow, that's the delay in IRL us and this video) and we've got about another month to go! Hope we can cross paths when you're further west :)

That was fun! You drove through our old neck of the woods. We got married in the "Cowboy Capital of the World," Oakdale, and before Oakdale, you drove through Escalon, and right past my niece's place! Only I WOULD get excited about these things. I was going to say, your first camp spot was in the Sonora area, that's "closer" to Yosemite. I was thinking at the start, where is your camping gear?? So, you rented it, then? Thanks! 🥤
