Longines is doing so right moves in these years, and amazingly they still have a tremendous possibility to improve the lineup and ramp up the sales. Fantastic job.🎉
Always loved the Legend DIver. I finally got the blue face dial that came out a few years ago and put it on a Stingray bracelet. Longines is such an underrated company . Great history and breath of models. Their styling is kept current and they have something for everyone.
Team Longines! My favorite brand. They deliver outstanding quality for the price. Design and proportions are always very tasteful. They are just classy.
This and the Spirit are definitely on my radar for 2024. If I only got one though, that would be tough to decide on. I would also love to see them bring back their VHP Quartz movement. It has so many easter eggs in the way it operates.
I was aware of longines growing up as a kid in the late 60s early 70s, The releases over the last 5 years or so have definitely brought them back into conversation again for sure.
Black dial is ordered and on the way. I had a hell of a time choosing the color as that blue is so good. But you just cant beat that black and white contrasted dial. 👌
I absolutely love this watch. As someone who only collects compressor style dive watches, this is now my holy grail. Seiko 5, Dan Henry 1970, Baltic Aquascaphe dual crown......Longines Legend Diver in three years. Damn, now I have to get a job.
My watch was purchased 2 years ago from MAMACOO and, to this day, it still looks and runs as well as it did the day it arrived. That movement has never missed a beat despite never having been serviced. I can't complain about that.
Absolutely love this watch in the 39mm. I'm tempted to sell my Tudor Black Bay 36 (with the blue dial) and get a LLD with the blue dial. Best of both worlds, with a diver inspired watch, also very dressy with the polished case and a beautiful bracelet. Decisions decisions? Great review again Teddy. 👌
This legend diver is wonderful . Yes, i am not very fair when we talk about LONGINES. I like the dial and the advanced design of the watch. Thank you TEDDY .
I love no date watches - usually results in a better designed / more cohesive dial, and less to worry about re: whether my watch is accurate. If I want surefire info, I check my phone - I check my watch for enjoyment, and occasionally the time 😂 Longines killed this release and I’ll be getting one eventually!
Wow. This is it. Grail watch. Or, rather, bonus watch. Not just another $3k Sub homage. Unique. Has history. Something that can actually be saved up for.
Just in the recent days I discovered the legend diver. Love its unique but yet very classic and restraint design. It was already high on my list but i was on the fence because of the size gap between 36 and 42 mm. And now boom, 39mm comes out. Nice!

I really like the new version of the Legend Diver! But I think the upwards trend regarding pricing make the newer Longines watches a slightly worse bang per buck option. But honestly I get it as Longines really is getting closer to Omega levels that raised their prices A LOT as well during the last months / years.

There are only two things I don't like, one of which is minor...First, there is no date window and I really don't like that. Second, and minor, I prefer 40-43mm case sizes.
Been watching your videos for a while now and was inspired to start a collection. Started with the AMZWATCH, its specs for price and clean looks, now am looking for a dress watch to add.
3.5 Hz seems to be a popular one with swatch group as it is the same on my Omega Seamaster diver professional 300. The differences in lume are alike as well. The major issue I see with it related to diving would be that you have to unscrew a crown to adjust the bezel, so you can’t adjust any timing underwater, but other than that, it’s definitely attractive.
It's very dangerous to change the timing bezel while underwater, that's why it was designed to be uni-directional in a way to make the diving time shorter if the bezel got bumped or in this case, inside the watch, so you don't miscounted the oxygen level left in the tank or more.
Watch are the ultimate Men's accesories!Enjoyed watching your collection. Keep going! As a watch enthusiast and watch reviewer, I can say MAMACOO this was a great choice. Enjoyed your video!
Uhh.... It's been that way since the 50s on the first ref 7042 in 42mm, and the one released in 2007 in 42mm no date also have that, the bronze green fume also have that. Nitpicking much when there's nothing to make a fault on, huh?

I love this watch, but I am also looking at the Benrus Ultra Deep. Compressor style as well, with a long history. It would be interesting to get your thoughts on it.
Never understood a date on a dive watch. Nobody’s swimming wondering what day it is. As ugly as it would be, it’d make more sense to put a moon phase on a dive watch for surfers. Not a suggestion lol, but it’s a reflection of how odd a date complication really is for a water sports watch.

Great video! Love to see Longines pulling out some awesome watches in the recent years. Btw, would love to have some videos about watches that have beautiful (decorated) movement under certain price points. Don't know how people feel but I really enjoy looking at a watch's movement!
This is definitely going to be a hit. Although it's funny they had to shrink the size from the original vintage size of 42mm, this was definitely needed as an option. Although from a day-to-day perspective I lament the lack of a date, I appreciate the symmetry that brings and the easy of setting for watch aficionados juggling multiple watches. I really appreciate the white print instead of fauxtina, so we get a vintage inspired design with more modern details. It is a bummer to hear the lume performance is just adequate, but I guess it can't be perfect can it? The beads of rice is a great choice as well. I've also seen photos of these on a matching Tropic strap and that works really well. So well in fact that I would have loved if Longines included one in the package with the bracelet version. Improving the movement to COSC is highly welcome, especially when competing with the likes of Tudor in the rough price range.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.
A Longines sports or dress watch in the 37 to 39mm is on my radar. I think the core lineup of a watch collection would consist of Longines, Seiko/Citizen/Casio. Done. Two to 7 watches and just be totally happy. More if must (say microbrands). Seems like more than that, the rotation gets long in the tooth IMHO. Me personally I don't have a watch over $1,000 yet. Other than a Seiko Apinist, a Casio Royale, and a Citizen field, I do own 3 All-American microbrands that I absolutely love. A Pascal automatic 40mm diver homage to Rolex Mariner; A Solios solar curve modern 40mm simplicity dress watch; And a Jack Mason Ellum stylish minimalist 40mm quartz dress watch.
I'm completely in love with this watch. The size, the design, the colour and the brand make it perfect. BUT...is it worth that much money with an ETA movement inside? What's your opinion?
Yes 👍 ETA movement's are indestructible and easy to get serviced. Alot of in house movements are headaches to get serviced. Do I enjoy in house movements? Absolutely but the topic got extremely overrated and Longines didn't just put a straight off the shelf movement. It's highly modified and decorated very nicely
Regarding the upgrade tbh it's more technical, beside the silicon hairspring, it's using escape wheel and pallet fork made out of the LIGA alloy for the anti-magnetism, I remember those parts is much more expensive than the already expensive usual escape wheel and pallet fork. Then improvement on the crown+tube design, kind of reminds me of the dual lock system on old rolex, then the caseback uses similar to NAIAD system that Omega uses which ensure the logo/medallion always on the correct position while still keeping the 300m water resistant. And oh, better lume, and cosc + iso certification. And YES, it IS in-house. Longines owned by Swatch Group, and that is true for ETA manufacturer too. And much more improved ETA than the ones used in the market.
The 36 and 42mm offer more color options. If they did the red/brown version, I would buy it. Also the other version have a date which ads a bit more visual content
Very nice review as always Teddy! Quite more expensive than the price I paid for mine in 2016 (almost double) but also quite and upgraded watch specifically inside (power reserve and COSC). I notice news crowns and hands as well compared to the 36 and 42 versions for this new format 🤩
Extremely better than the old LD. Longines addressed all the things I didn't care for. Being that piss yellow faux patina better lume and date window. Yes a real super compressor would be kool but its still has 300m wr like the original
Longines continues to win and now has every right to take Tudor head on and beat them. They also have a broader and historically relevant catalogue to reference vs Tudor
Thanks, a beautiful watch and a good video. A bit pricey to my mind as I can get a Doxa 300 SUB with a COSC certified movement, 300m water resistance and a rotating bezel for much less. (~$2,500) You are quite right to focus on the price.
Good call on the DOXA. However, doxa are generally less wearable and versatile for most people. If you want to stand out and/or actually regularly dive, then yes go for the doxa. If you want a more comfortable and versatile piece then its worth a few extra bucks.
The only question I have and can't seem to find an answer to is: is this a real super compressor or an inspired homage (with screw down crowns)? As a follow-up: can you operate the second crown underwater...?
They still have it for the 42mm, it just that that bracelet won't fit in this watch. Regarding the upgrade tbh it's more technical, beside the silicon hairspring, it's using escape wheel and pallet fork made out of the LIGA alloy for the anti-magnetism, I remember those parts is much more expensive than the already expensive usual escape wheel and pallet fork.
The Big Eye pilot is also a great hit
@@drkesrf Good points!
I like the old bracelet more :)
Teddy, which color would be recommend between black and blue?
What a stunner
The lug length is what makes this watch wear large.
The only question I have and can't seem to find an answer to is: is this a real super compressor or an inspired homage (with screw down crowns)? As a follow-up: can you operate the second crown underwater...?
The price increase seems unjustified regarding the few new features…
They also discontinued the Milanese style bracelet which was good looking imo
They still have it for the 42mm, it just that that bracelet won't fit in this watch.
Regarding the upgrade tbh it's more technical, beside the silicon hairspring, it's using escape wheel and pallet fork made out of the LIGA alloy for the anti-magnetism, I remember those parts is much more expensive than the already expensive usual escape wheel and pallet fork.
Yes there is definitely some upgrade in the ETA movement and a certification but still not worth a 1k$ increase from a user perspective.
@@mathieunh3409 longer service interval and you don't need to worry going to airport or put your watch beside the speaker at night without getting magnetized. I think this could pass the METAS certification, though marketing wise it'll go against Omega.
It’s still underpriced
On my wish list.
Glad it is a bit smaller. Hey, how about a video on Certina DS-1 or DS-2?
