Similar thing happened to me with 5x5 during Kent spring i averaged just under 2 minutes then got a pb average of 1:42.15
I swear big cubes in comp are so good
Wow nice one! Yeah I think overall pbs for big cubes are quite common, it’s really strange
Love the vid. About h perms OH, what I do is I do S or S' moves, then followed by U or U', whichever is your preference. They both have the same effect as m moves but you don't have to use the table so its slightly easier.

M moves are way faster when you practice them though

Thanks! So I’ve been cubing on and off for several years, since I was like 7, but started doing it more seriously during lockdown so like March 2020
I’m tryna practice 5x5 aswell for the championship cuz the cut off is 2 mins n I suck at 5x5
Honestly just grind solves. I did about 30 a day leading up to this comp. Also look at some tips and tricks on youtube to be more efficient

literally learned to solve 5x5 in 2019, and got my first official sub 1:30 in Aug 2022.

Yea that’s what happens when you do 30 solves a day leading up to the comp haha. And you gotta sacrifice doing trash in all your other events

Kalin, I managed to get a 2.92 average in 2x2 but I plus twoed the final solve and I got a 3.46 average :(. If it did not happen happen I would have gotten 3rd place. All of this was done at Timisoara cube days 2023

Hi Kalin, quick question. After watching this video a couple of times I realised you weren't using your tornado v2. Were you using your way too fast pioneer or maybe a flagship?
Nah I was still using my pioneer haha, but after the comp where I had to use it and did bad, Cillian set it up for me and it’s actually pretty good now

Hey, i avg around 1.9 on 2x2 i have an problem like i most of the time when i pickup the cube i get an locky start and the solve is ruined.if i try it few times i could get a good start. How to i get it first time?? Please let me know
I’d recommend doing slow pickups for a few solves. Slow it down until you don’t lock up at all. Find a nice speed that still has smooth pickup. A few top solvers actually say for the whole solve you should be turning at around 80% of your full speed

In my opinion, definitely the mgc elite. I think barely anyone would say the evo is a contender for the best cube
W vid but I don’t think you know what a big comp is 150 is a tiny comp here in London my last comp was medium size it was 230 and it was just some local comp

Which cubes do you recommend
I use the Tornado v3 3x3 I think it's amazing and not too expensive. For 2x2 I use the MGC Elite which I highly recommend. You can either set it up yourself or get the Supernova setup by SpeedCubeShop (I always get this one it's incredible)

It was bad out of the box but Cillian set it up with his lubes and it's actually pretty decent now
