This is the monitor i've been waiting for. Higher resolution, DP 2.1 and more PPI than previous ultrawide monitors. 2025 is the year of a new monitor for me!!!
Yeah I wanted this resolution 5 years ago but would have been pointless to release it then because of the GPU’s not being up to par to drive it. Even with the next generation of GPU it would be a challenge. Its crazy how so not in sync monitor manufacturers and GPU’s makers are
Got a feeling these are going to be really popular monitors (seeing as how they'll replace 2x monitors in one as well with PBP). Gonna need a 5090 or 5080 to drive it tho.
@@squirrelsinjacket1804 No you don't. I'm running a 34" 3440x1440 monitor with a 4090 and often use 2.25x DLDSR running most games in 5120x2160 resolution and still get 100+ fps in newer titles with DLSS/FG. Older titles will easily max out the refresh rate of this monitor (165hz).
I was wondering when this would happen. This was my dream monitor. I got the 1440p ultrawides a couple years back, and I always thought a 4k panel would be best. I've moved on now and bought a 4k OLED TV, but I'm glad to see this coming to market.
I didn’t really get how different matte vs glossy was until recently. My Best Buy had the lg dual mode 4k 32 in next to the Alienware 32in 4k monitor and I couldn’t believe how bad the lg looked. Maybe it’s bc it was next to a qd oled glossy but the matte coating was so aggressive it almost didn’t look 4k I couldn’t believe it. He’s really not kidding ab the matte vs glossy I didn’t think it could make that much of a difference but even some of the 1440p glossy screens looked significantly better than it. Seriously try and see one in person before shelling out that kinda money on a 1k display. Glossy ftw idk how every screen isn’t glossy after seeing it.
While not included in the official press release, Flatpanelshd report that these new 45″ screens will offer a native 165Hz refresh rate at 5120 x 2160, with the ability then to double the refresh rate to 330Hz if you lower the resolution by half to 2560 x 1080. It’s not clear at this stage what combinations will be available if you want to run in 16:9 aspect ratio. The native 165Hz refresh rate seems sensible given we knew there were panels of this spec in plan from LG.Display. It’s likely that 240Hz refresh rate panels will follow at a later date, which
Dont get why they are not applying the same glossy finishing from C series to a 32 inch. I ve been holding onto my C2 42 for such model to replace for a long time now.

But she doesn't really like it and wants my lg 45" lol I might have to grab the 5k 2k one for my self to pair with my 4090 and give her my 45" and give the 34" to my nephew. And the videos comment about the screens anti reflection sucking. I absolutely love it! I removed the anti reflection film on my Alienware because it was trash and scratched just by breathing on it. But the reflections after removing it drove me freaking nuts!! Colors do pop more and looked great. But the reflections and lights in the back ground always has to be turned off or have the window blinds closed. My wife's pc is right behind mine I would would be able to see everything. Now she has that problem because my 45" is so big she see's my screen all the time. I love lg's take on the anti reflections. It's honestly perfect. I can run any light I want. I leave the window open all the time now during the day.

Hey there, do you have any current opinions/experience with the Dough Spectrum Black 32? I have the LG 45 Oled 3440x1440 and when buying it, the only thing I regretted is that it was not in 5120x2160. I’m looking forward to seeing the CES2025 for the price announcement as the LG 45 Oled 5K2K will replace it. That is when, it will depend on the release price
When do you think these will be up for grabs? I’m sure we’ll know more this week but I have a 38”75Hz IPS and been waiting for years, feels like if I have to wait extra months I’ll be a bit sad. But seriously these look absolutely perfect to me!
You and me have to wait another year. 😭 45" seems to be fine for racing. I'm tempted to get the 45, but I already know that in shooters and strategy I'll be turning my head around all the time.🥴 I watched 39" 21:9 monitor reviews. That seems to be a nice size to actually see the resolution and it does not require Putin's table to get the viewing distance. So silly how some people use their 45" on a tiny table.
is the 39in model not going to be 5k2k? I really want the 4k ultrawide, but little interest in anything larger than 40in on my desk. I guess I'd suck it up if the 45in is the only option. Getting tired of my VA ultrawide black smearing and no playing VR enough to upgrade the headset like I thought I might want to. Was hoping better hardware would be out by now.
I've been very happy with my 38" LG Nano IPS, but am oled would definitely be big step up. 45" is huge though! The 38" is already plenty big.. Also, I hope the bendable version isn't an arm and a leg, because who would ever buy an 800R curved 21:9!? That would wrap around your face..
@@exob0b In its own way. High refresh rate (and more so variable refresh rate) makes a big difference in smoothness and contributes to faster response time. These things definitely improve the experience. TN panels are fast as LCDs go, but tend to have poor viewing angles and overall image quality. 21:9 or higher, also gives you much better periferal vision. OLEDs have high speed, image quality and excellent viewing angles. So, an OLED 21:9 would be a pretty mind blowing upgrade, even if the refresh rate is the same. Even one of the current 34". Models would be a step up in size, too. A 34" 21:1 is the same height as a 27" 16:9
I'd be happy with 4096x2160 but the pixel pitch and GLOSSY polarized panel being the same as the current 42" LG C4, all at 240hz and MLA for higher peak brightness and efficiency. DP2.1 and monitor amenities would be gravy.
Its true that QD-OLED has a wider color gamut but there isnt enough content out there to take advantage of it which is likely why LG hasnt been in a rush to catch up. At best you’ll get different hues of the same colors between the two. Im not talking spec sheets im talking real life comparison. All the honest reviewers will say so as well. I have tested WOLED and QD-OLED side by side and there is no image degradation due to the matte coating. When i try to see if there is a difference in sharpness i end up seeing pixels not blur. I think the matte affect is psychological for many.
Psychological or not, glossy looks significantly more premium to most consumers. It's stupid that they don't offer a glossy option at least. It would help a lot of people to justify the price when they see the clear shiny coating in the store.
if they could do a 45” oled in 6820x2880 that would be perfect for productivity. I am dying for such a monitor. I have an IPS Black 40” 5K/2K and it’s awesome but just slightly not enough pixels for work. I feel like I still want a 2nd monitor but an entire second monitor is too much, and makes the desk setup ugly. Going from 40 to 45” with a proportional increase in pixels would be perfect. That keeps the pixel density around 160ppi which is perfect for reading text at native resolution, and would have enough extra pixels to replace dual 4K monitors. And OLED would let me run all my apps in a much darker dark mode for a much more comfortable working experience. Ultimate productivity monitor. Really wish they’d keep the pixel density higher :( they can already make the pixels! Just make the panel bigger!
This is pretty close to my ideal monitor. If they can get a glossy QD-OLED version, I'm sold. I'm not keen on upgrading atm though as I already have the 32" 4k 240Hz Alienware QD OLED.
That's not 240Hz, only 165Hz. It does have a 330Hz mode but the resolution goes down all the way to 1080p. They also don't even specify the bandwidth of the DisplayPort 2.1, and usually that means it's not the full 80Gbps, otherwise they usually make sure to market that. Not a bad monitor, but far from dream--like.
the monitor need around 60gbps for 5120 x 2160 at 165 Hz with 10-bit color and HDR, uhbr 13.5 is 54gbps so either they use dsc or they have the full 80 which is likely the case considering lg always put the maximum spec in their port like their tv or older oled monitor with full hdmi2.1
Man, I'm going to spend some money on gaming this year. New GPU/Computer and Monitor. I guess I'll be selling my 2024 Alienware QD Oled. That LG 45 inch screen is amazing. The other thing is the brightness. The new G5 has a 4 layer Oled which increased the brightness without MLA. I hope this monitor has the latest LG Woled panel with this technology like the G5.
I thought it was glossy, as is the Z-trend, but damn if this is matte, it's instabuy. Most of the time I'm not gaming, and there, I am not interested in looking at myself from every possible dark UI app available. A perfect monitor disregards the reality, instead of being directly affected by it.
@ I don’t think it’ll be able to. There’s a but here though. Most gpu’s can fake it now days with ai upscaling and frame generation. But with a monitor like this, you couldn’t play cyberpunk 2077 ultra at that resolution and expect a framerate over 100 to take advantage of the refresh rate without frame generation.. which is fake.
Slightly better than 1440p WOLED and slightly worse than 4k WOLED I would assume. But the same matte coating so maybe not as good as it could otherwise be.
I have a completely light controlled gaming room. (DARK). No GLOSSY no sale. I have a Sammy G9 Oled now. 1000 or 1200 curve would be good. 800 is a little too curved but my 1800 is not enough.
I agree, after seeing the 800r curve at Best buy can't see myself using it Hell I use my c2 in ultra wide mode and the lack of curve is pretty tolerable although I would prefer some curve. I think I would be fine with 1800R or 1200R
I hate the bullshit marketing crap "5K2K" which is NOT a 5K monitor whatsoever. It's called 4K Ultrawide which is 5120 x 2160 aka 21:9 aspect ratio. LG needs to stop misleading average consumers by calling it 5K2K.
I am with you, confuses the noobies and is illegal marketing in many countries imho, even commentators in this video are talking about 5K resolution which is BS
Boy please the ultrawide that everyone's been waiting for you mean the same kids that claimed to have high-end gpus and PCs they don't even make enough money to live on their own
I asked an AI to calculate this (quite complex math lol), and it's about 36" for typical 16:9 content (since it is a 45" 21:9 display) so pretty large, 4 inches larger diagonally than a normal 32" 16:9 display.
For racing sims like Iracing ultra wide is amazing. However, for first person shooters or MMO's a 32" flat screen is MUCH more desirable. Just the facts, dont believe the hype yall!
This monitor is listed as 165hz native at 5k2k and 330hz@2160x1080p for custom resolution and matte (confirmed by LG and TFTCentral). When the 39inch comes out i will be buying day one. 45 inch was way too big for me when i tested it.
@@thedisplayguy agreed, just having that resolution is enough for me as well haha. I dont notice much difference from playing at 175hz to 240 already on the MSI 341CQPX. Cant wait for this year with oled, finally 5k ultrawide!!!
That's a shame actually, since you won't be able to do electron beam simulation (basically panel native mprt at a lower refresh rate without costing so much brightness as BFI), though this was expected at this resolution.
Give me a 480hz 4k OLED with rolling scan blur reduction technology because its a hardware based blur reduction technology on OLED and it doesn't cut the refresh rate half to improve motion clarity like ASUS BFI technology.
@@ctrl.s3565 maybe it just slightly helps to run it at 240 or less but going through a 480hz monitor kind of helps for the pro's? Like isn't it supposed to be slightly better to play at 60fps on a 120hz monitor(if you can't get past 60fps due to the card)?
This is what I would wait for and get, BUT after owning a 34inch Ultrawide OLED for 2 years now I'm not afraid of burn in, but 16:9 content. In the middle of my screen where 16:9 content played it has degraded more than the sides. It's not bothersome unless i'm on a gray image. Like gray forums etc. On you tube I can avoid it with extensions like Ambient Light, but many hours of Anime on Crunchyroll have resulted in the middle being degraded more than the sides and there are clear lines on gray content. For this reason I just won't get another ultrawide OLED... even if I prefer it. Unless someone has a method to avoid it on 16:9 content without stretching the image.
@@mileskt9232These are NOT 5K monitors whatsoever. These are 4K Ultrawide monitors. 5120 x 2160 = 4K Ultrawide aka 21:9 aspect ratio. NOT 5K resolution at all. Stop falling for LG's bullshit marketing crap. You want to see real 5K resolution? Go check out Apple's Studio Display 5K monitor.
It should be possible to manufacture. 13"-17" 4K oled laptops do exist. While I am not surprised that there is no gaming 4K 24", you made me wonder why there is generally not a single gaming 24-25" oled. It should be fantastic for first person shooters. 27" 4k gaming oleds only just entered the market. Perhaps we will see 24" non-4k gaming oleds at CES.

I've been very happy with my 38" LG Nano IPS, but am oled would definitely be big step up. 45" is huge though! The 38" is already plenty big.. Also, I hope the bendable version isn't an arm and a leg, because who would ever buy an 800R curved 21:9!? That would wrap around your face..
meanwhile here i am with 144hz 24" TN panel 🤣🤣
@exob0b Well. You'll be in for a real treat at some point, when you upgrade!
@@zackw4941 is it like switching from 60 to 144?
A 34" 21:1 is the same height as a 27" 16:9
@@zackw4941 by the way, do movies look full screen or do they still have black bars if the monitor is widescreeen?
I HAVE BEEN WAIIIITTTTIIIINNNNNGGGGGGG LESSS GOOOOOO JUS GOT PAAAIIIIDDDDDD
I'd be happy with 4096x2160 but the pixel pitch and GLOSSY polarized panel being the same as the current 42" LG C4, all at 240hz and MLA for higher peak brightness and efficiency. DP2.1 and monitor amenities would be gravy.
Do newer batches of the 32gs95ue come with the "revised" matte coating you mention in the video? When did they make the switch?
FINALLY.
I don’t get the bendable feature tho that’s kinda weird to me.
QD OLED can often times look noticeably better in terms of color.
Psychological or not, glossy looks significantly more premium to most consumers. It's stupid that they don't offer a glossy option at least.
It would help a lot of people to justify the price when they see the clear shiny coating in the store.
Ive waited like forever for this exact Monitor and got the aw3225qf a month ago because i thought we will never get one 😭
Why don’t they make 2 variants for a glossy and matte version of a monitor..
Now we just need a non bendable no gimmick one.
Quick question:
If my rtx 2080 and mainboard only have DP 1.4,
can I still run this monitor?
It's my dream monitor 😢
You would have a terrible time FPS wise if you buy that monitor with your GPU though
@@emiel255 But can I run it at least?
@ I think you will have very low FPS unless you play very old games. But yes I think it’s runable but not playable imho
@emiel255 okay then I will get it :)
Should be fine as I think will be 2k dual mode worst case till you upgrade gpu
if they could do a 45” oled in 6820x2880 that would be perfect for productivity.
Not a bad monitor, but far from dream--like.
the monitor need around 60gbps for 5120 x 2160 at 165 Hz with 10-bit color and HDR, uhbr 13.5 is 54gbps so either they use dsc or they have the full 80 which is likely the case considering lg always put the maximum spec in their port like their tv or older oled monitor with full hdmi2.1
no way you're driving this above 60 anyway
165hz is plenty for this resolution. Might take a 5090 to hit that anyways in AAA games like cyberpunk.
Almost had a dream monitor here, but they added the anti-glare coating. RIP.
Only 800R curve on the non bendable? Im out.
How does anyone run these monitors at the desired resolution and refresh rate???
rtx 5090
@ I don’t think it’ll be able to. There’s a but here though. Most gpu’s can fake it now days with ai upscaling and frame generation. But with a monitor like this, you couldn’t play cyberpunk 2077 ultra at that resolution and expect a framerate over 100 to take advantage of the refresh rate without frame generation.. which is fake.
@@GameDevyn why would i not use frame gen and dlss if it works tho? fake or not, technically the water u drink in a game is also fake :D lmao
@@GameDevyn the key word is "ultra." for goodness sakes turn down useless settings that hardly make a difference and gives dozens of extra frames.
How is that for text?
Slightly better than 1440p WOLED and slightly worse than 4k WOLED I would assume.
But the same matte coating so maybe not as good as it could otherwise be.
I have a completely light controlled gaming room. (DARK). No GLOSSY no sale. I have a Sammy G9 Oled now. 1000 or 1200 curve would be good. 800 is a little too curved but my 1800 is not enough.
I agree, after seeing the 800r curve at Best buy can't see myself using it
Hell I use my c2 in ultra wide mode and the lack of curve is pretty tolerable although I would prefer some curve.
That’s my dream too. But need to get a 5090 to power it on higher settings
It must be fate that one of the 38" LG monitors in the house was destroyed by our cat (don't ask) last week.
Definitely need a4080- 5090 to power this beast
Boy please the ultrawide that everyone's been waiting for you mean the same kids that claimed to have high-end gpus and PCs they don't even make enough money to live on their own
So it is a 45 inch, or 45 ultrawide means 32?
I asked an AI to calculate this (quite complex math lol), and it's about 36" for typical 16:9 content (since it is a 45" 21:9 display) so pretty large, 4 inches larger diagonally than a normal 32" 16:9 display.
When te review of the Msi MPG 322urx ?
Refresh rate listed as 165 Hz on LG Korea's press release for this, so likely not 240
i hope they make their tv's bendy too.. for the peeps who like bigger 16:9 as a monitor
To be honest, the 125PPI makes me prefer the 32 inch 4k more. Text clarity is important. The matte coating also doesn't help.
5K is the new 4K
For racing sims like Iracing ultra wide is amazing. However, for first person shooters or MMO's a 32" flat screen is MUCH more desirable. Just the facts, dont believe the hype yall!
This monitor is listed as 165hz native at 5k2k and 330hz@2160x1080p for custom resolution and matte (confirmed by LG and TFTCentral). When the 39inch comes out i will be buying day one. 45 inch was way too big for me when i tested it.
165Hz is good enough for me 👍
@@thedisplayguy agreed, just having that resolution is enough for me as well haha.
I believe you mean 2560x1080
Why is it so low? Samsung has a 7680x2160 monitor that does 240hz
Ahhahahahaha finally, I've been looking for these bois all day
why the hell couldnt they just make it glossy
can 4090 handle this monitor?
Yes. I play on a 65inch samsung q70r
@@ddogbeast9412 that's not 8k, just 4k.
@@trauma50disaster1 who said anything about 8k
I need this 1800R curved. QD OLED and 40”
Give me a 480hz 4k OLED with rolling scan blur reduction technology because its a hardware based blur reduction technology on OLED and it doesn't cut the refresh rate half to improve motion clarity like ASUS BFI technology.
bro wtf are you going to be playing that can hit anywhere close to 480fps on a 4k ultrawide
I am waiting for ages on this reveal…
right, 2025 finally giving us the 5k monitors we have always wanted. The 34 and 39 are going to look insane with ppi!
Go check out Apple's Studio Display 5K monitor.
can we expect 32 inch 4K 480hz oleds in 2025?
or at least 32 inch 4K with 350nits? right now they are all around 250nits right
YAY!
Nice tv
I just want a 24 inch 4K monitor at 480Hz with a decent looking stand... WHY can't I have it.
