Many thanks fot this great video tutorial - eventhough: the clue is the glue - if you do not have the right (industrial) glue which is not easely found the end result is disappointing.

Great video, easy to follow. But i also now have no sound after replacing the screen on my Huawei p20. Did i miss something or is it likely i damaged something? please help

@@toufikboulahtari6711 not yet. However after inspecting both old and new screens, there is a piece of metal missing on the new screen which sits directly behind the speaker. The tech guy I spoke to said it could be to do with that. I haven't got around to taking the screens in for him to look at though. I just use a Bluetooth speaker or headphones instead for now.
The internal speaker still works for phonecalls, just not on loudspeakers.
I did drop my speaker, so I've ordered a new one as it was only £3, just to rule that out incase it was damaged.
But I'm thinking there's a batch of faulty screens out there with so many people in the comments with the same issue and seemingly no fix. I went for the cheapest one I could find.
@@rhiandavies9725 did buy also one like that but I checked with the multimeter for continuous on the metal gold colored plate and the silver one it's continuous so idk if that is the fault or the little pcb with the black anthene cable
@@rhiandavies9725 I've managed to fix the sound it had nothing to do with the screen but with the connector module that did not had a contact with the speakers I have to say I've bought new speaker and the connector module, didn't test it with the old ones because I redeemed broken but I guess it wasn't

Might wanna test that screen before gluing it on. Also Disconnecting the tiny antenna plugs is unwise. If the screen has the print-reader on, it should be removable without complete disassembly as only the speaker need be removed.

So, did the change but for some reason the speaker is not working now. Can't figure out what is causing it not too work? Simple enough to remove and reassemble.

@@ardsparkour98 yes. It was the mic board that goes to the right of the speaker. New speaker didn't fix it

Its so expensive, only the screen costs around a used P20 pro in Sweden.
Now they are not so new they are much cheaper, Samsung galaxy screens are worse they never drop in price and you are looking to pay almost the full price of a referb phone just for a new olcd.

If the new screen has been replaced as you have shown, and the screen is still black/blank, have you any idea what the problem could be? Is there anything else I could replace which may be causing the problem. The phone still has power as it vibrates when I turn it on still but screen is stil completely blank even with brand new screen
It's probably a problem with the screen ribbon connector, you should shine a torch on the screen and see if there is a faint image, it might be that yiu have a picture but no backlight
