This theme is Legendary. I remember back in the day being mind blown that I was able to play as Magoichi, which I didn't know was possible at the time as I was getting the hang of the game after several playthroughs. Magoichi was one of my favorite characters along with Ekei, they both have some slammin' themes hands down!
