Creating within restrictions is a solid test of your skills and fundamentals as you mentioned. Now a days anyone can make something looks cinematic and that’s were your artistic eye can separate you from the pack. It’s wild to see you operating a film camera handheld, definitely gives that scrappy vibe to it 🫡
do you think you shot this differently because you are shooting on film than if you would have shot it digitally? do you think the result is more from the process or from the medium (of shooting it on film)?
*Hey Gian, I watched the film, but I didn't like the exposure on much of it. Several shots were underexposed by a factor of 1/2 to 1.5 F stops. The grade on the picture was total Caca as well. I don't think this is a typically good example of your work. If I were you, I would get someone else to properly regrade the picture and repost it. I see this time and time again here on RUclips - Guys can shoot, guys can edit, but guys can't grade their material worth a crap ! There's a reason why producers pay professional colourists tens of thousands of Dollars to grade their pictures. If anyone could properly grade their footage, then the professional colourists would be out of business*
You're such a nice guy man, that's why I keep coming back. Of course for the filming aspect but people watch because maybe you have a calming energy.
I appreciate that!

Nice work man! I'm glad you're still able to find the inspiration to challenge yourself. How'd you even get your hands on this camera?
Rental house in NJ!
can i ask you the decision behind 16mm film instead of 35mm film just price or aesthetically were you looking for something particularly?
Aesthetically, also cost and because I’ve never shot on film it was the most attainable
do you think you shot this differently because you are shooting on film than if you would have shot it digitally? do you think the result is more from the process or from the medium (of shooting it on film)?
I’d say both but also we wanted to it feel raw and gritty and natural, not necessarily polished or commercial to a sense
Can someone pleeeeeeease post a link to the film. after 10 mins of searching I've given up

Thanks for your thoughts
Not seeing any under exposure your talking about in the short at all his ratios seem intentional
