It's a shame they're getting rid of it. It reminds me of the monorail that used to be in Sydney that got closed down. The one in Sydney was pretty much an icon because you'd always see it go past you as you were walking the streets. But now, Hiroshima will be losing it's icon too. Sad really. Great video though Yua! Picturesque scenery!
I wonder if they thought of upgrading to LIM to replace the cables, or perhaps take down the track and make the system into a cableway like in Medellín?

I hope another kind of transportation will take its place as I'm sure the local people depend on it, and will have to find another source of transportation. I think the reason is because these videos are professionally produced and edited by a third party, possibly the Japan tourism authority. This way she can remain anonymous while keeping high standards. Her videos are awfully slick for a young girl.
Very good video. I was able to enjoy the Skyrail even though I am only watching on a 40” screen here in Chicago. It is rather strange seeing everything is automated, yet seems to function perfectly without any staff around. The views from overhead are wonderful, that region is quite beautiful. It was also fun seeing the restaurant inside. Thank you for sharing the experience. I look forward to watching more on your channel.

I'm also sad to hear it's being discontinued as it has such great historical value. It's unfortunate that money is being lost however with its operation. Great view and a pretty quick ride going up or down the various hills. But looking at where it goes, it serves two home developments in which every house pretty much has a car. Not enough people using it, etc.
Why are not many people using the modern looking system? I hope people will petition not to shut it down! The infrastructure was expensive to build, so I hope it will stay. Happy to see you had a good meal with a beer! Excellent video Yua!

The cute monorail is scenic and convenient, a shame. Traveling above and between neighborhoods quietly beats a bus ride for sure. If the demand is still high, A loss of ¥100,000,000 a year doesn’t seem insurmountable. Couldn’t they increase fares, or maybe reduce other expenses? I liked the okonomiyaki and the restaurant’s homey decorum, it’s my kind’ve place. 😊

And the price for the ride is very inexpensive (just over a $1 in US currency 💵). Ice Cream looked refreshing (I love Mint Chocolate Chip) 🍦& the food afterwards, looked so ono (oishi in Hawaiian) 🥘. @atjapan Hai, there's lots of Japanese restaurants that serve Okonomiyaki here. I have tried it before & I do like it but, never had it with beer. Only with Macha that they serve with the meals.

ここの団地は元々、スカイレールタウンみどり坂という団地で、スカイレールがJR山陽本線と直結しているのが売りでした。
なくなるのは寂しいですが、これも時代の流れなのですね。

ユアさん、こんにちは。動画はいつもパソコンの大画面で見ています。もちろん、ユアさんのお姿も大画面で！コメントもパソコンで。今回はスカイレール、乗ってみたいと思っていましたが、2024年４月を以て廃止はとても寂しいしもったいない。廃止後のレールで使用しているなが～い土地はどうなるんでしょうね？ほんとにもったいないし、廃止してほしくねいですね。スカイレールから見る風景は絶景ですね！住宅地の上を通る箇所は、江ノ電の空中版みたい。廃止するまでに乗ってみたいです。
広島風お好み焼き、大好きです！ビールと相性抜群！飲み食べが止まりませんね。
北や東北へ行かれるそうで、嬉しいです！
機会があれば、島でお伝えするならば、私が住んでいる県にある「佐渡ヶ島」や「粟島」がオススメです！絶景や海鮮の食べ物はバツグンです！
