I'm a Scotsman in my 60's with several medical conditions, I tried camping about 6 years ago and came the conclusion that my camping days are over, now I watch other people like yourself camp, it's not quite the same but does remind of my camping days of the past. New Zealand landscape is quite reminiscent of Scotland's
What has drawn me to your videos is the fact that you and Victoria show the elements without music. I love the natural sounds of nature. I get a kick out of it every time you tell people about their critiques of you
The guy doesn’t shut his mouth or stop taking through the entire video. The camera is constantly trained directly on him while he BLABS BLABS BLABS!! 🤦🏻♀️ Terrible video because he wouldn’t shut up for a second!
I actually enjoy watching someone just hang out in the tent when it’s stormy out. You can read, fix a meal, just chill..Love the sound of the rain on the tent…just really relaxing..
Hi Abel (& Victoria), I so appreciate the hard work you do during your camping trips. Keep in mind there will always be people who criticize you. Try not to give them the time of day. Don’t give them the power. You do a wonderful job. Most of your vids are done during tough weather. I’ve learned so much from you and also Tony. I’m hoping to go camping tomorrow, haven’t been in 15 years. I’m older and a bit broken down but I’m going to try. Again thanks for the entertainment. 😊

I was proud to see that you finally put up the tarp, as you usually do. I think that the tarp makes the camping experience in the rain and wind a very different and exciting trip! I always put up a tarp over my tent when I go, even if there is no rain or wind. It's almost like you are camping in a small cave. Keep up the great videos!
For us ... yes... but it looks it was a nightmare for him ... he almost couldn't sleep... I think it all depends on the way different people live these experiencies...

Dear Abel, you wanted to name the storm. It was a Howling Beast. I didn't see how you were going to get any sleep riding out the storm in that tent. I remember being in a tent in very winding conditions and the zipper pulls on the tent were beating so fiercely that I never got to sleep...plus the rattle snakes that were around worried me a bit too. You be the Goat as the kids say. Loved this video...especially the art work i.e, when the pickle and mustard slid down onto your rain pants and created a stunning contrast. Food as art!
I have my best sleep in a tent in the rain, but these videos are the next best thing! I've never used a tarp to cook under - it's an interesting idea. Thanks for sharing.
I haven't heard anyone say, "far out", since I was a kid. Like, 30 or 40 years ago. I like it. You should bring it back. Also, Humbug. A bit older but should definitely be brought back.

Im ex Army so my outdoor basher wasn't as posh as yours. Even so, when I could catch a few hours kip I loved snuggling down in my doss bag listening to the rain hitting the poncho. It was the same in the jungle in Brunei and Belize snuggled up in my hammock. Thank you.

I love this content. I can't get out and about very much due to ill health, but I can watch these videos and go there mentally, which is a real help. I particularly love stormy / rainy videos as it reminds me of camping when I was a kid and hearing the rain on the tent, there's no better calming sound in the world (at least to me)

Our favourite holiday was going to New Zealand, staying a month with my lovely friend Kathy and her husband. What gorgeous country. Parts of it reminded us of British Columbia where we live. Great vid. Very hardy buc. Dtorms must be the hardest conditions to camp in. Theirs no way a human can sleep in that tent with that noise of walking rain and wind against the tent. Ear plugs are a must and a life savour.
