Hollie, sorry to hear what happened. Hope for you to have a speedy recovery and be able to get back on the trails. We all understand what has happened, your health is more important right now. We are all behind you so heal up so you can get back on the trails. And you are right Rudy is doing an awesome job on the Rad Charger.
I'm glad to see that you're hanging tough in a bad situation like a typical Scot. As a fellow Scot dealing with multiple spine injuries, I can honestly say I know how you feel, and I'm proud to share a homeland with you. All my best to you and Walter during your recovery and beyond
Just taking it easy for a month or so is the best thing you could be doing. Maybe start some light isometric exercises to maintain some muscle tone but the absolute best thing to do is what you’re doing -just rest and let your body heal. I know from experience that trying to rush back from a serious injury just prolongs the recovery and can actually lead to further issues down the road.
Praying for you! As a therapist who has worked with hundreds of back injuries please feel free to contact me on ways to protect your back (limit bending, lifting, twisting, and how they apply to daily life). Best wishes!
Just take it easy Hollie. We will be here when you come back. I just started watching your channel because I have also been watching the 24 hr Hell and back series and really enjoyed watching you put yourself through that torture and seeing you come through it all. Sorry to hear about your incident. Hope you heal well.
Glad to hear you doing good. Listen to the doctors, don't push yourself, and just rest and relax. Take the time to heal. Everybody will still be here when you are healed up.
I'm glad to see that you're vertical and your healing is coming along. I'd love to see some short videos of your healing journey. Perhaps some vlogs about your day to day routines, plans that fall through, good little blessings that come along the way, and maybe how Walter is doing through this, as well. We love watching your life not just because of the big tires and big adventures, but because we love watching two smart and good humans tackle every challenge this life throws at you. Thank you for the update. We love and appreciate you guys.
I just had spinal surgery on July 3rd 2023. I'm just one week post surgery. I have the same brace. They replaced a vertebrae L2, put in new disc and cage, screws and rods. Fixed lumbar scoliosis and 5 other herniated disc. It was a 9 hr total surgery lengthen my spine over half an inch. I hope you heal well. Take it slow and easy.
As someone who has had back pain myself, it's amazing just how doing tiny little things like going to the bathroom can become almost insurmountable obstacles. Hoping for a speedy recovery! Hang in there, Holly! We're all rooting for you!
Broke my back (T-6) just over 30 years ago and life has been . . . a challenge, to say the least. Take it easy and let the swelling (your mortal enemy) dissipate, then you're home free. I've been sitting in a wheelchair since and wouldn't wish that on anybody else. You're looking at a minimum of six months before you'll be able to endure trail riding again. Ice/cold packs will become your best friends.
Prayers for full healing! I ruptured a disk in my back a couple of years ago. After a successful surgery and recovery, I'm as good as new. My hopes are that you also heal fully and have no long term effects. ❤ As you say, listen to your body and don't get ahead of yourself. Reinjury would be the worst scenario. Thoughts and prayers sent your way. Oh yeah, can you get Rudy to put some real tires on your walker?! 🤣
I am so happy to see you moving around so well. I know how hard it is to be still when you're used to being active. Keep listening to your doctors and when you get there, do all your PT.
For someone who had a catastrophic spinal event about 2 yrs ago, with 9 spinal fractures, including t11, I can attest to how much pain it is. It’s unexplainable. I was unable to breath without terrible pain. I was able to get kyphoplasty on 4, and I was stunned at how much relief I got so I could breath easier. You’re a little bit younger than me but it took over a year for the other fractures to heal. The first fracture was so bad that I would literally black out from the pain. Take it easy. No need to rush, nothing is more important than healing. I’m sending lots of aloha and healing thoughts your way. 🌺 Btw you look lovely but I know it took it out of you to do the video but we appreciate the update.
So sorry to hear about your injury, Hollie. As a caregiver for a wife with back issues, since 1998, I can say slow and steady wins the race. Do every bit of PT/OT prescribed. Hope you're feeling better shortly.
I know exactly what you're going through. I broke my back in a 4 wheeler accident 6 years ago and I had to have 5 vertebrae fused together. I was in the hospital 18 days. Hang tough, it will get better. Wishing you the best!
Love your channel LOVELY!!!!!! You are doing everything right my dear. Follow doctors orders and remember power of many many prayers!!! As far as who you are going to call for help, I think Matt or Robby or both!!!!!!!!!!!! You are a great person and a joy to follow and spend my time with, Bye Honey. MUCH Love & Many Hugs
Hope you heal well! Take your time. These kinds of updates are enough so we know you’re doing ok on the road back to normal. Oh, and don’t forget to sing once in a while, as soon as you can. Your music medicine will help you get through this too.
Good for you, listening to your body and doctors. Last year, my 91 year old mother did the same to her T12. Stubborn woman wouldn't wear that brace. Healings takes time. Stay positive and heal well.
Holly, take it easy, do as you are directed by your doctors. 8 years ago I crashed on my Banshee and broke T10 much the same as your T11. I tore some ligaments and required a T9-12 fusion. I can say as an old dude that recovery is not easy but doable. Take care of yourself and do what you need to. Looking forward to more fun content.
Stay strong Hollie! I tried to play Evil Knievel in a sand rail at Pismo Dunes in 2006. I ended up crushing T11 and now I have a titanium cage between T10 and T12. I know exactly what you are going through. You got this! It will get better I promise! Slow and steady is what is gonna win this race.
As someone who's had a couple of similar back injuries I know how badly it sucks. I remember laying in bed deathly still trying not to do anything that would trigger another spasm and being scared that some well meaning family member might sit on the edge of the bed. Bad memories for sure. Get well soon, Holly!
Thank you for the update Hollie. I heard about what had happened and I'm glad you're on the mend. Looking forward to you getting back in the game. Miss you.
Holly: Best wishes for a speedy and (mostly) pain free recovery! My wife and I watched your accident video together. We have both broken bones (not neck, thank God!), and we have also ruptured discs (3 lumbar in both cases). We talked it over, and came to this conclusion: in many ways, breaking that cervical vertebra is preferable to ruptured discs. Why? Because broken bones will eventually heal, leaving little residual pain. Ruptured discs, on the other hand, ESPECIALLY lumbar discs, heal with surgery, but never quite stop giving you occasional Hell. Again, best wishes!
Prayers lifting you up Holly! Also prayers for Walter as he helps you out in your time of need. Get better and we look forward to having you back. Rudy is doing an AWESOME job!
Glad to see the update, I have been wondering how all was going. So sorry you have to step out of the OnX challange, but am glad you are stepping back and giving yourself time to heal. ❤❤
Glad to hear you're doing better. With back injuries always take extra time to allow it to fully heal before getting back into things, at least double what the doctors say.
Sorry to hear of the setback. As a recipient of a double-spinal fusion and artificial disc replacement over the years, I can appreciate the strength to muster up the composure just to make this video! Wishes for a speedy recovery and when you're feeling well again, don't forget that you aren't indestructible like I did (hence the second surgery). Just registered and voted, hang in there!
@@Ktm083-pu9lj If you can get approved for an artificial disk (if it’s a bad disc), that is the way to go. Fusion is more painful and longer recovery, but sometimes the only option for some (artificial discs were still experimental when I had my fusion done). Either option was better than the limitations and quality of life I had prior to surgery. With a fusion you will have some limited flex since you will be missing a disc, but the artificial disc restores full flexibility
Your up and moving 🎉💃 happy dance. Hang in there you got this like some rock wall. You can climb this obstical, it may take a bit but it will happen. Don't get down about all this we will be fine. We are here chairing you on.
Hollie, good to see you up and running again. I've taken the liberty of swiping the You Tube friends I know of help for you, Matt Off Road Recoffering, Fat Rat's, Robby Laton and Trail Mater. I hope they come and help you with your cars. Ruddy might also need a pair of hands. Stay calm for now, be patient. It'll be fine. Have faith in that. Folks, ask these youtubers to help Hollie.
As a person with chronic back pain, due to disc injury, you are doing the right thing. A walker with suspension would be much easier. As the husband of a Scots lassy, who used to switch between accents, ah, the memories of laughing at her accent swapping.
You look great and take it from a back injury pro you’re doing the right thing, rest and get those walks in. I have 14” rods, 3 plates and 26 screws in my back, if you can avoid surgery do everything you can to do so! Again great to see you on your feet, keep up the good fight! As always BIG LOVE from Texas and Uncle Bob!
People that don't have back issues can't really fully understand the changes in life it can cause. I feel your pain, and appreciate your spirit. It takes time, so don't rush it so you can be on the trails again. Wishing you all the best from Colorado.
First off, your health is most important, focus on you and your healing. Praying helps. Just having you do talk videos is good, but not what we are here for. We are here to make sure you are getting better. God bless😊😊😊😊
Glad to see you're vertical and not horizontal, which is a good thing. Now just time and patients which is easier said than done. God bless and good luck 😊
Glad you are up and moving. Hope you are back in the driver's seat soon, after fully healing recovered. There's no need to push it we'll still be here.
We are praying for a fast and full recovery! Good luck!
Take it slow and easy. We can't wait for you to get back . ❤
Praying for a speedy and pain-free recovery, Holly.
Amen
Sending prayers wishing for a speedy recovery
Thanks for sharing with us. Your one of four 4x4 shows I keep track of. Praying for your complete and speedy recovery.😢❤
