Dude they used a fake 120 in scream they never tested anything they only used cgi to make it look like it’s going into the flesh the fake knife is made of aluminum which gives it that blade look
Theres another channel his name is Joe X he does a bunch of knife destruction videos. He did a good one on the 120, thr tip can go through a car door as many times as you want and stay virtually unharmed
Since I won't be stabbing my steel chairs, do you think you could do a more real-world test between these two knives? We will be butchering game and fish with these styles. I would love to see you debone a Boston butt roast with each of these. How does penetration and bone deflection effect the ease of use? THAT is what I want to see.
Buck knives are not designed for it, but I don't even do this with modern knives. I do watch RUclipsrs wreck knives before I buy them, because that's an indication of how strong they are 😂
I have these knives but my 124 has the wood handle. It's just beautiful to look at and I have had it now for 30 years. It's truly an iconic knife. Buck has made a lasting mark in the knife world. I have several Buck 110 folders. I wish they still made the leather carry case, made in The USA. I also have a brand new, never used Phrobis III M9 knife/bayonet made by Buck. Their contract was cancelled about 25 years ago and another company, Lankay I think took over supplying that knife to the Military. Those chairs are something solid but the Bucks held their ground. Great knives. Thanks for the demonstration.
This review is largely specious. The merits of a knife are not based upon its cutting and stabbing ability - other than resistance to breakage. It is, in part, based upon the ability to HOLD an edge. Also, if the 124 was slightly less sharp than the 120, perhaps try sharpening the 124!
Its called an Over Molded, Necked down full tang. Buck uses that style of tang on the older style sheath knives. And its still very strong. Even the tang on the 124 is necked down just enough to keep the guard in place.
I watched a video of a dude trying to destroy a 120 by doing all kinds of things like hammering on a brick with the edge, stabbing car doors, hammering it into a log and twisting it to try to break the tip off, and other than dulling the edge, you're gonna have to basically blow the thing up with C4 in order to break it.
Joe X 👍. Yeah, the Buck 120 with 420HC steel was amazing. Car stabbing , tip prying test. It held out way way better than I imagined. Excellent performance 👌.
I wish Buck made something a little in-between the 119, 124, and 120. I love the 124 but it's a beast to carry. For my EDC it's a 110 in a leather pouch.
I’m not sure what you mean by in-between those knives. They’re 6-7 inch blade lengths. A smaller one maybe? There’s the 105 with a 5 inch blade. And the 117 looks just like the 119 only it has a 4.5 inch blade. Knife Center has that for $75. Personally, I kinda like your 110 choice lol, though I’m more of a 112 person myself. 🍻
The 124 is a far superior knife. The 119 is pretty much garbage. The handle on the 124 however, is like a stick of butter but you can reprofile it because it is micarta. I used a dremmel tool and some sanding sponges to make it more comfortable. The 119/120 handle is basically plastic and the tang is skinny.
I thought that too but after seeing many tests on RUclips these rat tail tangs are more than sufficient for use. Kabars, bayonets and Air Force survival knives are all rat tail tangs that are much thinner and weaker than bucks and they went through world wars Korea Vietnam and into the future. They’re stronger than you think especially when you use the knife for what it’s meant for: a cutting tool.
Obviously the 120 because its been tried and tested by Ghostface for almost 26 years now 🔪😱

Best comment ever. Huge scream fan
Bought my 120 before the movies
Had a 120 years ago. Great knife. It held and edge through a lot of hard use. Wish I still had it.
Still using my 120 over 30 years never failed still in service best in all my other knives with similar style can't beat anything made by Buck

I reckon the 120 is more of a fighter & even a meat-deboning blade.
The 124 would be a heavy-duty camp & fire-keepers / chopping tool.
Good video, Ty.
OR, moose and bear dresser.

Actually, this guy should not own a knife.
Since when did it become cool to chop with knives. Knives are not meant for chopping HATCHETS are for chopping.

I bought my 120 in 1986 out of boot camp. I still have it. It’s my personal collector’s knife. I use kbars as my daily use

The 120 is mainly for hunting/skinning animals , the 124 is more of a bushcraft/survival knife
I own many buck knives my 110 is almost 50 years old the 120 is a great knife I may have to consider getting the 124
No wonder Ghostface be killing people instantly 😂

chair also good strong weapon. much respect Sir.
Sweet review, I like it , that 124 is a BEAST of a knife 🔪
124 is a awesome knife it remains me of something a firefighter would carry or keep near by.
Thank you very much for your video. I was having a hard time choosing between. The 124 an the 120 i am going with the 124 Frontiersman.
I done a fairly brutal test on it here on RUclips & it's a very tough knife.
Thank you for the reply.
124 an awesome knife. Just ordered one today.
What do you even use it for

Dude that’s some crazy stuff this video is cool!
I like the 120s clip point wayyyyy better.

Ok, was worried about the cutting test without at least gloves…. But then I saw the Superman tattoo and all anxiety was removed.

Holy Cow , that's crazy 🤪 had no idea that would go through with no damage 😳
Excellent! Thank you.

That 124 is awesome!!
Ghostface anyone?
Sorry to point it out, but that 124 tip didn’t look too pristine after.
That buck 120 is a scream !!!!!
Good sweeper and nice carpet take off your socks "She giggles" Thats your puppy
Two Dynomite Blade by Buck Knives 💰🎱💰
A mix of the two. 9 inch Bowie blade, a full tang with finger choil and no upper guard.
Try the 916 if you want to be impressed
I’ve never felt the need to stab a chair with my buck knife!
Two good fixed blades that I want and hope to get sooner or later.
And I'm hope it's sooner reather then later.
I will have a 124 for my "NO Return" go bag.

That's a tough knife and full tang.
Ahh the old Stab a metal chair test.
Cold Steel probably did it 30yrs ago.
Don't invite me over, for THANKSGIVING.
It’s pretty clear both tips were damaged.
Not at all
Buck 120 🔪🗡👌💪👈.
