I ordered my C40 last week. I was really satisfied with the Harman Kardon audio and with treble, bass, subwoofer and surround settings I managed to get awesome and well balanced sound. I work as a producer and musician and i’m mixing music on a daily basis and i did not find anything wrong with the audio. It blews away easily many other High end sound systems. 💪
Nice. Congrats 👍 Yeah it's a great stereo. Don't get me wrong. Just had a feeling based on Polestar 2 testdrive previous weekend and then C40 afterwards. A feeling or experience that the overall sound was slightly better in the Polestar 2. Was a week apart, but noticed a little difference. Either because of cabin, or the little tweaks on the equaliser. Got much experience with the HK in Volvo's 60' series and find the equaliser to be very important.
I agree with you on the use of a screen for all adjustments. As one who needs reading glasses, I’m concerned about the removal of buttons. I rely on muscle memory for a lot of adjustment.
You are right about the cruise control. I don't know how it is in other countries because in the Netherlands we have different lines on the roads. Because of the different lines on the roads you want to be able to switch easily. In my XC40 I used the controls on the steering wheel continuously. In my new C40 I no longer use the cruise control assistance systems on the screen. Hopefully it will be reactivated on the handlebars soon.

I agree about the useless left and right arrow buttons on Volvo. It's ridiculous to have the buttons and not use them to toggle steer assist. I just completed deactivated it because I can't be bothered to go through the tiny menu entries
I belive Volvo is planning to add a row of icons on top of the screen with favorites / shortcuts. This is based on questions from Driver Connect questioneer. Pilot assist toggle was one of the selectable options. That would be better, but as you say I would rather have it on the steering wheel like before..
The wool seats can be ordered already, at least in Sweden, code R8Z0. Pretty expensive though at 18900 sek. I thought hard about then but decided to go with Y980, the one pictured in the video. There's actually five different options to choose from.
Are you talking about the C40 or XC40? Because the wool seats aren't available yet in Norway for the C40. And can't find it in the Norwegian or Swedish configuration either. But I know it's not far away.

Volvo say not enough people used the drive mode selector but I use it almost every day. I have a longer commute so I normally switch to Eco as soon as I start the car for the exurbs portion where there are traffic lights but mostly just country highway. Then switch to Sport for a faster reaction as I get in the busier portion of the city. It will be so annoying if I have to go into the screen to do that.☹️ I don’t used the adaptive driving and steering assist but my mom use it all the time, I would assume it will be annoying for her if she have to go into the screen to set things, because it took quite a while to teach her how to use the system already😢 Well, we’re gonna keep our V90 as long as we could.
I would never trade in my Polestar 2 for a Volvo C40, but this is because of my specific requirements for a car of my choice. I do not need the extra headspace in the rear, I profit from the slightly better "fuel" economy, I enjoy Polestar's unbeatable infotainment.
really?? I hate the infotainment. So glichy!!! 😞 That and their crappy phone are the major weak points on the car. That and the lack of a proper second cup holder.....lol. They made a sophisticated and modern looking car while neglecting the basics like having a proper second cup holder, some proper forward facing vents, and extensible sun visors. It's frustrating, but I still like the car. Not considering the fact that I don't have to pay for gas anymore, my Q50 was a way more refined/better car in almost every respect, except for acceleration.
The pilot assist must be a bug seriously. I mean the polestar folks have their problems with the Google system but Volvos version is just not ready for release yet and all the functions I’m sure will be added along the way. Even my sales guy at Volvo says he don’t like the Volvo version of Google but he is sure that it will be a lot of updates incoming.
It's not a bug. This is the way Volvo have made it. Or changed to. They actually had the Pilot Assist on the steering wheel in the beginning of XC40 P8 with Android. And then removed it again. Yeah it will definitely come updates with time. Making the system better and better. However I don't think it's good enough now.
I am agree with yoy. After Volvo moved autosteer from button on steeringwheel into screen i have never uset it. That is a shame. It is too clumsy and not safe now. Are they really allowed to do so on my car..Hmmm not good.

As long as it's clean I think the blue looks pretty good. Personally this wouldn't be my choice. I like it, but don't want it. More drawn to colourful leather than carpets.
@@volvo_kristian i would like to have a combination of black floor and blue door carpets..... so it would be easier to see the content in the door pockets, but interior would stay dark...
interior storage inside xc40 and its ev variants is amazing.... almost perfect design and practicality. that "steering wheel assist" change is stupid.... why on earth you have to go through the touchscreen when you have two buttons on the steering wheel...? stupid. same for the screen dimmer. this shouldnt be happening in the volvo.... like if the cental screen with HVAC wasnt enough...
Keep in mind, even if Volvo is an autorized workshop for Polestar, they only service and repair your car there. when you have real problems, all has to be done by the official dealer ships, tand those are miles away. Off course, i can't belive all polestars ar as bad as the one i had. but with 12 workshop visits in one year, and support with Göteborg over e-mail to resolve a problem. I just gave up and sold the crap. People forget how importent it is to have a dealer ship, when you are the unlucky one to have bought one of the rotten apples.
Jeg hadde valgt C40 uten tvil. Synes den ser bedre ut. Men. Hvis bagasjerom kapasitet er viktig så er XC40 bedre. De har like stort oppgitt volum, men høyere opp til taket i XC40. Alt annet er så å si identisk. Selv om jeg opplevde C40 til å være mer behagelig enn jeg husker fra min tidligere XC40 P8.
I own a C40 and it is pretty awesome. What I don't like: The Pilot Assist - ist should be an the steering wheel - it is dangerous. The range could be better. The app should have the same functionality like for the xc40 with more car information, routing within the app. More apps on the android system, like Netflix or internet browser. Hoping getting the same power update like PS 2.

How does the blue interior look in person? Would you up for the blue or the charcoal interior?

Yeah. The screen dimmer really annoys me.. How useless is that decision.. That's cost savings to the extreme.
this is a deal breaker if it's still there... on the UK narrow roads sometimes I want to change it every minute not to be put under the truck

Well, if you have no problem with Made in China versus Made in Belgium, go for the Polestar 2.

Maybe they will come out with a update
Volvo had Pilot Assist on the steering wheel in the beginning after the XC40 P8 launch, but removed it in a update. Hopefully we will get it back.

Either stop putting stuff into the screen or make it available through voice commands.
