Krogers executive testified a few weeks ago that the grocery chain raised prices beyond the added costs of inflation. GREED. [Article in Business Insider]
Its at least not as bad in US because biden placed a cap on how much stores can raise the price of certain essential household goods. (A thing Trump referred to as socialism and said he would remove thus making the problem worse)
Problem is the Trump cultists didn't get over their loss when Biden won, as a matter of fact there's still people who believe that the 2020 election was rigged
It's laughable that some people think that the recent inflation after Covid was only a problem in the US. Every country has had to deal with this issue from supply chain disruptions after the pandemic. The US inflation is now the lowest in 3 years and in much better shape than other countries in the G7.
I'm sure every country saw the extreme price humps a cross the board, right? Yalls rent went up 300% in some places due to a 3rd party housing price "suggestion" website? It's not the same everywhere but it's really, really bad right now. We are down to choosing to eat or drink clean water because we can't afford both. I can afford Mac and cheese but not the milk to make it. I'm really close to just opting out altogether. Starving to death is all I can afford these days.

I’m a manufacturing manager. I own supply chain purchases. Many ICs went up 10x in price in 2021. There are basic building blocks of PCBAs. Therefore all electronics were affected. It was a direct result of factory shutdowns due to Covid. Manufacturers just literally couldn’t meet the market demand. Relatedly, shipping and other normally fixed expenses were hit by price spikes that affected all goods. All of this was a result of Covid. You’ll remember that Trump was President when Covid hit. Blaming Biden for a supply chain issue that happened under Trump isn’t just ignorant or disingenuous, it’s gaslighting.
Not to mention the 25% tariff that Americans are paying for. If they are not paying the tariffs, it’s because the manufacturers moved the manufacturing to another more expensive country, hence the tariff and the increase balance out. I cringe every time he says China is paying for it. No, they are not. Americans are. I am in electronics too, maybe 1% of the goods’ manufacturing moved back to the US, they just went to other countries.
We recovered after covid, a year after in 2022. But, wars, immigration, cutting off our oil supplies, losing Saudi Arabia oil, hiking interest, 270 billion for immigrants every 6 months. Trump wanted 5 billion for the wall. There is more than just the price of eggs.

When the dollar weakens, it often signals economic challenges ahead. I'm thinking about how to safeguard my savings from inflation. Recently, Bitcoin has been in the spotlight, especially with the approval of Bitcoin ETFs and Trump’s win in the election-many predict it could soar beyond $100k. I’ve saved up $300k and am considering investing now, but I can’t help but wonder: is it too late to maximize returns?
Just because there are opportunities in the market doesn’t mean you should go in blindly. To understand the potential factors that contribute to your financial growth, I'll advise you to seek the help of a professional.
The best course of action if you lack market knowledge is to ask a consultant or investing coach for guidance or assistance. Speaking with a consultant helped me stay afloat in the market and grow my portfolio to about 65% since January, even though I know it sounds obvious or generic. I believe that is the most effective way to enter the business at the moment.
There are a handful of experts in the field. I've experimented with a few over the past years, but I've stuck with Rebecca Nassar Dunne for about five years now, and her performance has been consistently impressive. She’s quite known in her field, look her up.

The CEO of Kroegers/Ralph's grocery stores came out and admitted they were purposely price gouging! Put the blame where it belongs! Business and corporate greed is the problem!!
They didn't just admit it; they BRAGGED about it. They wanted investors to know about this opportunity to make windfall profits. Not even an ounce of shame.
Facts, they disguised much of their for profit price hikes under the high inflation we recently experienced it, now they are turning around and laying workers off, while still keeping the same high price tags on goods, even while inflation has dropped to pre pandemic lows. Proof is in the record profits they have claimed over last couple of years. All while not giving their production employees raises or bonuses but instead feasting on corporate stock buybacks.
Well, technically, all price increases are inflation. I think what you mean to say is that it's not the companies passing on the inflation that *they* are experiencing onto us. Technically, no prices ever just go up "because of inflation." It's always a choice that companies make to raise prices - the question is if they "have to" due to rising costs on their end, or because they just want to use "inflation" as an excuse to pad their pockets even more.
Whenever the price of anything goes up, someone somewhere is making more money. That is a simple fact, there is no other cause of inflation other than someone wanting to make more money than they used to. Some blame currency valuation, due to cash in circulation vs GDP growth and such...but this is only loosely correlated not direct. And the correlation goes both ways. Someone may want more money because their money is devalued. But also money can be devalued BECAUSE consumer prices have gone up not related to cash in circulation. And really this only affects foreign trade products anyway, it is never a thing for domestic products. Prices always go up AFTER the media talks about prices going up, they justify their greed with false logic.
@@5353Jumper that's not necessarily true. A law could go into effect that raises minimum wage, which could increase costs that must be passed onto consumers
@isaiahayers1550 only if the executive and ownership are unwilling to take a momentary cut in returns until the market balances out. And also only if companies actually price their products based on costs, which almost no companies do. That is all media BS propaganda, not reality. And even if justified by costs it would not go up very much due to minimum wage increase because front line wages are only a small percent of the cost of business. Minimum wage workers could afford a lot more 5% higher priced products if their wages went up 50%.

Price of eggs is Kroger's fault. They fixed the price of eggs and other goods in order to make record profits. Corporations must be held accountable for price gouging!
The price of eggs and chicken spiked because of the pandemic. Not CoVid, but avian flu. Poultry farmers started destroying flocks of chickens to stamp out the avian flu, and that caused supply to drop which causes prices to rise. Kroger and Albertsons made the problem worse by raising prices higher than the shortage justified.
CBS News is reporting that companies are already preparing to pass the costs on to the customers if Trump goes through with his tariffs promise. They're going to raise prices according to how much they have to pay on the tariffs.

@Javier-b8b ......first let's research which President added more to the deficit during their tenure. Trump! Second, let's research who brought the economy back to a better condition after the crash of the financial industry.......Obama. it took 8 years to get the economy back on track, and it soared with prices of gas at its all-time low, which resulted in stability in other prices of commodities in stores. Then , Trump came on board and took over a very good economy and made so much noise about the it by spending so much on the border wall he told us Mexico would pay, if I recollect, over $5b after he shut down the government twice. That did not impact on our lives but did put a damage on the economy. Then the chaos of banning people from coming into the country, which is another major source of economy....little damage done to the economy. Then, the protests and riots keeping the country on a steady standstill thereby impacting on the economy further before the pandemic which paralyzed the economy. 2020, we were all locked up in our homes and the dynamics of the way things were done changed which led to prices skyrocketing. Look, inflation/economy need time to heal and 4 years will not be enough. For everytime there's a damage to an economy, all you keep doing is pumping money to heal it. The policies of Biden is healing the economy but the economy is the strongest in the world and with Harris policies we will start seeing changes soon. I remember turning to my wife as my import rates went up 4x and saying “there’s no way stores don’t pass this on to consumers within a year”. Inflation is global, and one country’s President really doesn’t have that kind of reach. Plus, it would’ve been much less for the US if Trump had actually tried to curb Covid rather than denying it, which made the supply chain issues much worse and longer lasting.
Corporate greed? Neither of those are the reasons. The two rounds of stimulus checks during the pandemic put too much money in circulation. The government wasn’t able to give that relief just to those that needed it, so many people spent a lot on consumer goods and homes.

He already said that his “plan” to make things cheaper is to impose more tariffs. If anything the pandemic helped him by slowing down the economy even more so we didn’t really start feeling the effects of his presidency until after Biden was sworn in.
This is good but should have emphasized that inflation is 1) steadily decreasing so much that the Federal Reserve has reduced interest rates and 2) has also been fueled by greedy corporations keeping prices high for massive profits.
President doesn't actually have a ton of control over a lot of things. This is why it's important to pay attention to all elected officials, not just the presidency. As for independent government agencies, if the head of the agency isn't appointed by the president, then I'm not sure how we can influence these agencies...
We had a perfect storm for high inflation in the early part of the Biden administration: 1. The global supply chain was disrupted due to lockdowns and reduced capacity during the pandemic. 2. Deficit spending increased due to the Covid relief and stimulus packages. 3. Many people had extra money to spend because they got stimulus checks, were saving money by working from home, and weren’t going out and spending money on movie tickets, gym memberships, concerts, sports, vacations, etc. 4. The vaccines started becoming available just before Biden took office and many businesses were allowed to open back up once the vaccines were widely available. Suddenly, we were faced with a situation in which demand skyrocketed as people had been stuck at home for months and could now go out and spend their extra money. Simultaneously, we were facing supply chain issues in many industries. Gas prices shot up as people returned to work and companies worked to get their products back on the shelves. Low supply + high demand = high inflation It would have occurred no matter who took office in 2021. Edit: Gas prices were further exacerbated by Russia invading Ukraine. There is a very clear spike when that occurred.
I've worked retail for 50 years. I saw all the problems coming when Covid was announced as a world crisis, and the very next day, the grocery shelves were empty. Supply and demand always control the price of a good, so the price was bound to go up. The increase should have started to go back down once the supply got back to normal, but greedy corporations saw an opportunity to increase their profits because people had already been paying higher prices, so they just kept charging. On top of their record sales, they were doubling their benefits because Trump reduced their taxes. Grocery stores had their highest sales ever during the week that Covid was announced as a World pandemic. I hope for the sake of hard-working Americans that Kamala wins the presidential election and goes after these greedy corporations. They are the reason that prices are still high.

This is not the full picture. Interest rates are increased or reduced depending on the level of inflation, which is brought about by spending or depreciation on the dollar. As such a president definitely has an impact.
As far as the Federal Reserve is concern, the President can only do so much, like he can appoint and fire the Federal Reserve chair or nominate key officials, but why would he do that? The Federal Reserves was doing what it's suppose to do by raising interest rates because of inflation. Now that the inflation is down around 2.4% the Federal Reserve is starting to lower down the interest rates.

@davidcandido4602 yep. it's disgusting and needs to stop!! So sick of the Biden administration being blamed for this!!
There’s also the fact that the increase of prices is not just because of inflation. Most of it is just corporate greed and price fixing.

Re: eggs
Eggs and meat prices also went up independently of inflation because there was an outbreak of disease, and animals had to be killed, but they were diseased, so they couldn't even be sold for meat.
The result was less eggs and meat to go around at a time when we were already experiencing inflation.
I have been saying exactly this for weeks! Exactly!
This young lady just schooled the uneducated that voted for Trump. Good job, thank you for getting an education, young lady.
If you think this is any form of schooling. You are more uneducated than the people you're talking about!
Except she's wrong... Debt and tarrifs don't cause inflation... printing money and downsizing energy production is what causes it, and guess what we've done over the past 4 years?
Not really, most of the federal reserve is run by… DEMOCRATS! How about that?

@ChristopherR236 Good because I have been happily married for 36 years, bro. By beautiful, I meant kind-hearted, bro.
Of course not. Digging out from a global economic shutdown was always going to take years.
People complain about inflation and its clear they either weren't around in the 80s or forgot about it
It took 8 years to get the inflation rate from 13% to 4%, from 1980 to 1988 that was a long haul
I'm thankful for this message.
Me too. Good and helpful message.
This is what happen when you choose not to educate yourself. They voted against their own interest and don't even know it. But they will soon feel it.
But news outlets keep dropping these polls that say some Americans think 45 is better for the economy lmfao. THAT. DOES. NOT. MAKE. SENSE!!!🤣🤦🏻♂️
I wouldn't pay any attention to those polls. Those news outlets are likely choosing red districts to skew the numbers, so that they can drum up angst and keep their ratings up.
I have to say though, I find it ridiculous that those news outlets think that they will be SPARED if Trump successfully becomes a dictator.
Those people see that prices for things were lower under trump (they were even lower under Obama), and now they are higher under Biden. Therefore, Trump is better at handling the economy to them.
Well done video. These are FACTS!!! PLEASE LISTEN!! 😳🤓👍🇺🇲
Yep, Canadian business owner here. Saw the writing on the wall with the supply chain issues and called expected inflation long before it really took off.
Ok you've convinced me, I'm voting for Kamala. When is the deadline to vote??
Corporate greed is literally the reason why everything keeps getting expensive.
Corporate greed? They have to raise their prices because of the cost of fuel to ship things to stores we were energy independent under Trump gas was cheaper, groceries were cheaper, rent was cheaper, everything was cheaper. So was your life better off under Trump or is it better off now? No need to blame COVID Trump wanted to keep the country open during covid which I say we should've because if we did we wouldn't be in a world of hurt where we are now.
Israel is why prices are high.
Neither of those are the reasons. The two rounds of stimulus checks during the pandemic put too much money in circulation. The government wasn’t able to give that relief just to those that needed it, so many people spent a lot on consumer goods and homes.

@@kaponkotrok All republicans have done is give tax cuts and handouts to the rich while increasing the deficient more than democrats and reduce job growth.
They also believe monopolies are good when monopolies literally reduce competition which in turn increases prices and stifles innovation due to a lack of competition. Then they double down on it by providing protection and handouts/bailouts to those very same monopolies.

People seem to forget that he bankrupted the farm industry and nearly did the same to the steel industry. The only reason the farms survived is we had to bail them out. The dude is a menace.
He already said that his “plan” to make things cheaper is to impose more tariffs. The problem with a lot of the people supporting him is that they don’t realize how slow the economy is to react to things. Trump’s first few years he was coasting on the economic growth from Obama. If anything the pandemic helped him by slowing down the economy even more so we didn’t really start feeling the effects of his presidency until after Biden was sworn in.
Thank you for explaining the reason for inflation. Education and knowledge is so important in understanding our economy.
Ya but his the precedent so should he solve everything
This is good but should have emphasized that inflation is 1) steadily decreasing so much that the Federal Reserve has reduced interest rates and 2) has also been fueled by greedy corporations keeping prices high for massive profits.
More concerned about greedflation than inflation
Considering the tremendous expenses of COVID, we’re doing quite well. Better the most countries
President doesn't actually have a ton of control over a lot of things. This is why it's important to pay attention to all elected officials, not just the presidency. As for independent government agencies, if the head of the agency isn't appointed by the president, then I'm not sure how we can influence these agencies...
The fallout from his disastrous presidency led to the inflation we experienced.
SHE TOLD NOOOOOOO LIE! IF YOU KNEW, THEN YOU KNOW!!!
You droppin' that real Political Science! Nobody can hear you, though...but I wish they would! Jus' saying! Keep doing you, boo! Peace!
Very clear and easy to understand.
We had a perfect storm for high inflation in the early part of the Biden administration:
Low supply + high demand = high inflation
It would have occurred no matter who took office in 2021.
Edit: Gas prices were further exacerbated by Russia invading Ukraine. There is a very clear spike when that occurred.
My question is, do those prices ever go down or is this the new normal? Personally I have never seen prices for food go down.

Now that the inflation is down around 2.4% the Federal Reserve is starting to lower down the interest rates.
you say that there are pieces missing here, but you didn't even explain how any of what you said is connected to the president
I so agree...I work in the background of all imports and how the increase of tariffs affected a lot of companies after 2 years...many closed down. This increase in tariffs caused consumers to pay more for products.
