  • In this video, we delve into the highly anticipated but ultimately disappointing Star Wars Outlaws, developed by Ubisoft. Set between the iconic events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi, the game promises an open-world experience like no other in the Star Wars universe. However, what we got was far from what was promised.
Join us as we critique the lackluster gameplay mechanics, uninspired storytelling, and overall lack of innovation that plagued Star Wars Outlaws. From repetitive missions to clunky controls, we leave no stone unturned in our honest review.
But that's not all. We also address the recent controversial statements made by Ubisoft's director of subscriptions, Philippe Tremblay, regarding players' ownership of games. Tremblay's assertion that owning physical copies of games should become obsolete, akin to CDs and DVDs, is not just absurd but downright unfair to gamers. We discuss why this shift in mentality is troubling and how it affects us as consumers.
As we navigate through the galaxy as Kay Vess, a scoundrel with dreams of freedom, accompanied by her loyal companion Nix, we uncover the shortcomings of Star Wars Outlaws and the broader implications of Ubisoft's stance on game ownership.

    Blood borne, dark souls 3, elden ring, uncharted 4, gta4, Spider-Man 2018/ 2 ,dam near every A.C, etc… had a season pass.
The disc being a downloading port was implemented at the start of ps4, thats why hardrives have no space.

It does not need to be all about lightsabers, i agree, but it has to have some aspect of the force at least, cuz whether you like it or not star wars is about lightsabers and the force it always has aswell as the light and dark side, but a lot of movies have a light vs dark side, what makes star wars special is the lightsabers and the force, and it would be a shame not to incorporate it, cuz then it just doesn't feel like star wars. IMO

I don't agree with this. We've had plenty of media with no force aspect which has been great.
Andor, Solo, as well as older star wars games like xwing vs tie fighter, rogue squadron, rebel assault, dark forces etc.
Also a bunch of books and comics with stories about soldiers, pilots etc.

And thats okay, I dont particularly like many of those. Andor was defo not bad, but without the force aspect it just didn't feel so exciting, idk maybe its because i love the og movies so much, everything else just feels like lackluster fanfics for me. but i respect your opinion

    1. The "downgrade" is because the 1st gameplay showcase was on PC and the trailer looks to be console. 2. Season passes are 100% common in single player games for years. 3. The idea of not owning your games is taken out of context entirely, the statement was in regards to how to get players to be more interested in subscription services like Ubi+. It was meant as "To get more subscribers to Ubi+, players need to be more comfortable with playing games on a subscription service rather than buying the games" essentially. That quote is not what what said

Yes it sucks, but this is not a new thing... .
You don't even own physical media, just a license to use it.
I'm not defending the practice, I'm just surprised this is apparently news to people.

Why would you buy it if you don't believe in it vote with your wallet; otherwise, things will never change.

I am finding myself less & less interested in so many new game's coming out, when just a few year's back I was playing just about everything on consoles, especially if it was survival horror, I also loved all the far cry games, some of the early star wars stuff, etc. List of games could go on all day,
But since all this woke stuff started, I have never been more disinterested, like yeah I'll watch youtubers clown on the games, an yes I still love survival action horror, dead space remake being the last game I played, an waiting for more of those, steller blade has my eye, but let's be real, not that long ago this game wouldn't have even made much of a splash,
But most other games, especially the woke one's, just look wack to me, this one definitely being one of them.
Not only does it look woke, it also looks very similar to ghost recon wild lands, just swap out military soldiers for star wars characters,
So it's like, been there done that an it looks just as hallow & boring as that game was, same way far cry 6 had soooooo much content but none of it was that good or deep, it just felt shallow an boring, there was almost zero passion in the making of that game an you can see it all over this star wars game too,
ubisoft is basically just making games that are as wide as a ocean but as shallow as a puddle,
An none of them have that special touch or spark that gives them a special quality, they use to have it, far cry 3 had it, few other games, but so many of the newer one's just ain't got it
