It’s awesome to have some reasonable hobby takes and conversation. This is exactly the content I like to watch while painting. Thanks to you both. Got my Rohan force on the workbench thanks to Stuart’s inspiration.
Great video! I understand people having their lists messed around with but I’m onboard with the new edition. Love the lists, and it gives room to expand, I’m sure they’ll be more lists in the future too such as the serpent horde
The Armies of Middle Earth when it arrives is going to add more lists/depth but it’s quite nice to have just the two film trilogies plus new WotR to work with in getting a feel for the new rules. Going to be interesting to see how Monsters in particular work out. I still need to work out what I want to dive into. Good hobby chat both.
Some good picks there chaps. One that stuck out to me was the road to helms deep. Some really cool rules there regarding mounting and dismounting. Very themey. As a side note, perhaps a live episode for the movie? Would be cool.
Where? I can't see it on the community site Edit: Nevermind just found it, awesome Glorfindel is still playable, shame rivendell knights aren't in his army. :c
Before I give my opinion, I hope you dont take any hate personally in the comments to seriously as some people are upset. For me, I am okay with the new building. Allies mostly* allowed certain models to be overrepresented and abused rather than overall lists (though witchking suladan was very popular). The new system may* make armies be overrepredented and abused. However the new system may make rule rewrites of lists in future supplements more common and result in better balance and thus more diversity overall. To me, it is yet to be seen what the final outcome will be of the new edition and competitive or casual you should wait a bit for the first supplements before giving a definitive opinion.
I though it was a shame there were none in there like before. I’m not sure why, doubt it was laziness though, I expect there was a very good reason for it (even if it was a business one). Maybe they’re adding them to the third army book that’s not out yet.
Always a pleasure to listen to you both. I often take the opportunity to paint whilst I watch/listen. I’ll hold off on writing a letter of complaint due to not making it to the hour mark on your hobby hour (false advertising) seeing as this one is pretty hot on the heels of the last one 😂. Obviously joking of course
@ My absolute pleasure 😀. To be fair you and Stu usually go well over the hour mark so I’ll just have to let it pass this time 😂. But in all fairness I would likely stay on and listen to any music chat, particularly music to paint by…I often listen to all kinds of things seeing as painting takes up many hours a month (though sometimes in many small intervals when I’m time poor)
Yeah, the new edition isn't for me, unfortunately. Army lists being "snippets in time" don't hold much interest for me. I've seen the movies several dozen times and have read and re-read the books many times since the 80s. I really have no interest in seeing the same armies on the board over and over. And I am in no way a competitive player. The tone of this video insinuates people who want to have freedom in making armies are just competitive players is very off putting.
Definitely not our intention to insinuate that, and I definitely don’t think that’s the case either. However our commentary on much of the negative noise comes from a number of people who we know are part of the competitive scene, so it’s not unfounded, but definitely not a declaration that it’s just competitive players. We both laboured the point on more than one occasion that we have genuine sympathy with those who don’t like this army building approach, and that we are lucky that we are fans on the Legendary Legion approach. We have been since they were first introduced , so it’s just a very genuine position. I think casual players who like movie themes are definitely better served than those who want to create their own armies based on book narratives. It’s tough for those players from a list building a model range point of view. We discussed this as well, while also noting the third book is on its way which will no doubt bring much of these things back (it will be OOP miniatures that become an issue for some then). Personally I think you may have miss-interpreted the tone based on your own dissatisfaction with the approach of the new edition, but appreciate the point and I’ll give it some thought, but I really felt we were pretty sympathetic with the issues while being honest with what we liked.
A whole wealth of scenarios remains open to you, not to mention the upcoming Armies Of Middle-earth book and the opportunity to just play whatever you like with your friends. As Stu says, it was not our intention nor our insinuation. Merely the loudest voice in the room regarding this issue was from predominantly the competitive players. I'm sorry the edition isn't for you, hopefully you'll find something more suitable or continue playing the previous edition with like minded people. Happy hobbying.

Thank you 😊
Enjoyed that chat, not tried the previous ME game but have the new set arriving tomorrow and looking forward to giving it a go
Thank you Andrew. Hope you have loads of fun with your set!

Will be interesting to see what’s in that 3rd army book, I expect many of the missing things to be covered there.
great show guys. Very excited to jump into the new edition.
Thank you

Yes a live one could be fun, I’ll see if I can twist Dans arm to do it (we need to find some time for that also).
The pdf for arnor and angmar is now available for the new edition
Where? I can't see it on the community site

I’m going to have a read through later 🙂
New to the game, are new evil and good army lists (books) released to buy yet?
Yes they are, they were released at the same time 🙂
@@MiniatureRealms Thank you!
I hate when companies have their xmas do on a thursday
😂

I agree completely, we won’t know the full picture until the third book is released, and then probably another full year before it’s all settled down.
Only weird thing was no naritive scenarios in The books. I suppose we got the old books but just lazy in their part. I like goblin Town songs.

😂 Fair point well made! We'll pop your 5mins and 4secs in the post. 😉 Mostly I think it'd be Stu and I talking about music. 😂 Thanks for watching!

😂 We’re giving back time we’ve wasted of peoples before.
Warum ist der Videotitel auf Deutsch wen nur englisch gesprochen wird?
I don’t read or write German so I imagine that’s something RUclips has done, maybe they’re auto translating titles to users own language now 🤷♂️.

Wat is this? Talking about Christmas work parties, while the new Knights Panther character has been leaked?!
YOU'RE FIRED!
😂 Think we recorded this before the leak, cool looking model though.
@@MiniatureRealms Cool story, bro!... Where do you want me to send your P45 to?
Zing! Honestly I’m not sure how you come up with them, you really should do your own videos, share your wit and intelligence with a wider audience.
