I gotta say, I think I agree with you on this one. Not that Alastor doesn't have beef with Vox-- that's probably pretty apparent-- but as we've seen, what really pushes Alastor's buttons is being called irrelevant. I know I'm simplifying the complex drive behind his motives, but I think it's fair to say that when someone starts to question his power that's when his smile finally cracks a little. Alastor might be itching to stretch a little, but Vox started it. Now Alastor's singing- he's gonna finish it.

The dynamic Alastor actually has with Lucifer is the one Vox WISHES they had. Stayed Gone has Alastor in-control and unbothered from minute one - he may find Vox annoying, but he’s not a threat in the slightest. While Lucifer is the rare person Alastor has no control over and has to resort to emotional blackmail over.
Imagine Vox being jealous of Lucifer, that would be hilarious!
Now I kinda want to see what Lucifer's interactions with the Vs would be like. Considering Lucifer says he avoids watching TV, I wouldn't be surprised it's because he's avoiding Vox and the other Vs (and even if Lucifer is more powerful, he probably doesn't wanna interact with many Sinners if he could help it).

"Stayed Gone" is such a fantastic song. It perfectly establishes Vox and Alastor's dynamic. The fact fact Vox was so hot-headed and felt the need to assert dominance in the first place, while Alastor stays collected and nonchalant already suggests who's superior. But the way Alastor just casually tunes in, hits Vox back even harder, and completely airs out is dirty laundry just proves it. And then there's the end, with Alastor giving his own warning and showing his demon form. It's awesome, creepy, and let's us know for certain he's got a hidden agenda. And ot's going to change everything.

I finally realized the deer aspects in his design are supposed to be that he’s a wendigo. In the original myth, wendigos were just normal people, until they got hungry at which point they would become a monster and eat human flesh. Since Alastor is cannotically a cannibal, he fits the criteria of a wendigo. Amazing visual storytelling guys!
Just to clarify, Vivziepop has been asked this before and she outright said it wasn't intentional but that she's fully aware of the similarities. I would take this to mean that she doesn't reject the idea but it wasn't really what she originally had in mind.
But I think it's such a cool idea she'd probably embrace it. Who knows!

Never forget Alastor somehow heard Voxs solo verse to himself and used his power to override Voxs and display himself on his screen eirectly to threaten him. Wild shit
I don't think Alastor overrode Vox directly. I think he knew it would happen if he got under Vox's skin. It really shows why Vox is an overlord. Before he was kind of low rank for one, but that scene shows that he's connected to, controls, and powers basically ALL of Hell's electricity. Because of course, why would Hell have built in electricity and WiFi? That's not something Lucifer Cares about. In the latest episode he said he doesn't watch TV because it 'scrambles the brain'. I think that's more than just him being old school. We see Vox control people with his eye.
Which I think is really interesting because we see Pentious do it too. Which reminds me of the snake from the jungle book. However, Pentious uses it as a defense mechanism, just for seconds on angel long enough to get away from him.
It makes me sad because if Pentious was just more mature/less innocent/more educated (He very much reminds me of a kid who grew up with the smarts of a god but got bullied for being nerdy thus dropped out of social circles and society and didn't progress far in that regard) he could have potentially been an overlord. He might have even been able to fill Vox's role in terms of being a tech genius with the ability to hypnotize people.
TVs operate with radio waves so it's possible Alastor can hear everything Vox says
I think Alastor is not just "radio" demon, but essentially controls all "long" electromagnetic waves, meaning he's actually the one to control all wireless communications including not just radio, but also TV signal, cellphones, wi-fi, and let's not forget radars and microwave ovens just for future opportunities.
So basically anything not going on paper or cable, Alastor is in control.

The first episode has exactly the same problem as the pilot: it sells more personality than characters, it sounds purposeless.

-Velvet swipping left to reject outfits is also used in her song "Respectless" where she said she's not gonna swipe right for people
-Vox maintaining a smile constantly is like trying to become Alastor's deadly behaviour but he cracks everytime
-Alastor summons the minion that Angel Dust flirts with looks like a voodoo doll symbolising it's under Alastor's control

This episode pretty much just cemented the fact that Alistor is the demonic embodiment of f**k around and find out. And when sir pentius was sent flying I could definitely imagine Alistor turning into a baseball announcer and doing the whole “it’s going, going, gone” statement.

I like the dynamic with vox and Valentino here: valentino is a self centered, abusive man child who can get easily angered and will react to it without thinking of the consequences of his actions. He is basically a temperamentfull wild card. vox on the other hand is a businessman trying to have everything perfect and in control and unlike valentino will think of the consequences of the actions they might do. Valentino is easily angered and doesn‘t thinks things through while vox is more careful and tries to make things without damaging his public image.
Despite how different they seem through they have their similarities: they Act charismatic and affable to the public or people they want to manipulate but beneath the facades are little children that get angered if they don‘t get what they want. They way they approach their issues are different however with Val being more temperamentfull and with vox being more thoughtful about what he is doing.

I'm so glad that's the image chosen for the thumbnail! I loved Alastor's eyes looking in opposite directions while he laughed maniacally! I also love the friendship between Alastor and Nifty, he dislikes physical touch but seems to have no issue with her literally climbing onto his head.

@@strawbunnyx4601Yeah, it is definitely an odd contradiction. Vivziepop has said he dislikes being touched, so maybe he is fine touching others because he wears gloves and he's in control of the interaction when it's him initiating. He could also have a soft spot for Charlie.

Apparently only I have noticed it but at 9:52 Vox steps on a rune the Alastor has definitely placed, after which Alastor begins his own verses as vox begins malfunctioning before all of hell being shut down. Plus the error on Vox's face helps reinforce this.

@@mr.byybzman4964 if you can pause at the error messages on Cox's face it mentions it's failing because of Alastor.exe, and I can't find the other step mark your talking about, the only thing I can find is when he open the door and circuits surround the door.

I love how Amazon is giving the full first episode and half the second one so people who only know the show from RUclips can judge if they want to pay for the show on its own merit instead of marketing.
I tried to stay away, to wait for more seasons but its too magnetic
There is a convination of elements in this show I know I wont find anywwhere else
The color palette is ALIVE, the colors effects, the plays of neon colors of bright and darker colors while still being harmonious is something I was missing
The character designs are GREAT, no one looks normal, no one, they have humanoid forms but its so altered and I love it, I have enough of seeing humans lol, something so different feels so good. Things are TRULY different, its not just cute girls and boys with little horns as a design like, there are fcking flavours
The scale of the cast and worldbuilding is just getting more and more intriguing and bigger, more characters and more dynamics between classes of demons to explore, each demon has a terrible story to share to end up in hell, and the hellborn are intrinsically different by their different lifestyles as a demons depending on the ring where they grew up
And the SONGS, oh the songs I didnt expect to love the singers so much, and I think I underestimated how a well built song can elevate the emotion of so many scenes

I like the this episode establishes Vox‘s personality. A flamboyant and charismatic businessman trying to be the next big thing of everything. Always trying to be in the center of situations at everything that is happening. And when something is attracting the masses eyes, he will make use of the situation to have the puplic‘s eyes on him again( like him taking the advantage of next extermination to make a new profit). Which explains his inferiority complex to Alastor: he is more famous and powerful then Alastor, so vox tried to control him by having him join his team, but Alastor denied it. Alastor is Someone vox can‘t control, who is better then vox at everything: influence, powers, charisma and vox envies him for it. And through this jealousy his more childish side comes out, always trying to upstage him in the spotlight. And that what makes vox a interesting villain to me: He seems like a businessman who is always in control in the situation but beneath it is a child trying to be in the center of attention and getting easily jealous when someone else gets the attention.
I love how Vox's voice gets more distorted like a recording much like Alastor's the angirer he gets, it's such a good add in

And then there’s the doneness (of steaks for example) medium, bloody, rare are all used to describe how meat is cooked. Paired with the visual of Vox as a chef in what seems to be a cooking show (on tv, vox’s medium) getting the VERY bloody venison (resembling Alastor’s whole deer look) outta the oven. That’s just neat.

I love how Vox and Alastor's designs not only parallel each other (color and pinstriped clothing) but are also attributed to their respective technologies. Al could have been a literal radio like Vox, but Al's attribute is only through audio since his gimmick is the radio, so we can only HEAR that part through his voice, whereas Vox's attribute is VISUAL by the fact that he's a literal tv.
Not to mention how they both smile to keep their allies and enemies guessing (despite Vox being more expressive and impulsive than Alastor)

Does anybody else think the headcanon that Vox was a news reporter before death works SO well?
He has the perfect voice and charisma for it, and the way hes so focused on image reminds me of every self centered news reporter in film ever. He also somehow seems the most fluidly comfortable running his mouth in the persona of a reporter "did anybody notice? Did anybody miss him? More on tonights broadcast!" He said that like the line flows in his mf blood. Hes the epiphany of corrupt media.
