You have to give it to him. Paimon cared. He recognized when his son was sad and attempted to do the right thing by helping. Though, it’s likely due to his own upbringing he didn’t know how. Though, hitting Stolas when he didn’t bow wasn’t okay at all. But again, given his potential upbringing it’s a wonder he cared at all.
Considering Paimon had to fit with the expectations of a goesha and any emotion isn't okay by those standards, sounded like he hated his life, and had SO many kids he couldn't keep them straight while knowing their lives would be absolutely horrible, yeah, it's not surprising this was his version of "good daddying."
