Philosophy was my major at Cal. What I liked about it is it got me to see a lot of different parts of campus. Philosophy classes are kinda everywhere, lol. I spent many hours at Moffitt laboring over logic problem sets with my study group! Good times at the GBC and yeah, very true about the flyers. You just gotta put your hand up or put on air pods and block out the noise! Great job with your campus tour! Nailed it!
Nice vid but you neglected to mention the gangsta' squirrels. I was sitting at FSM Cafe outside working and this squirrel wandered over to the area where I was and was "begging" people for food. One girl got chased away and some other people started to move. It was pretty funny. The girl was yelling at it to leave her alone and go away. It came over to me, looked at me and I looked (side-eye) at it. I said "Nah, bruh...not today". Seriously. And it went away. Aside from me standing my ground, they can get pretty aggressive. Funny to watch.
My parents met at UC Berkeley and each thoroughly enjoyed their times there, granted they were there in the 80s. I'm 14 and I love chilling on telegraph, honestly Downtown Berkeley is incredibly fun and high-energy, there's definitely an edge to Berkeley as you caught with the gunshots in the back but there's thrifting and boba and plenty of restaurants and skate shops and smoke shops of course, not sure whether college students are super interested in all that but if you are considering giving UC Berkeley a chance Telegraph is wonderful aha! Also quite an interesting (and rather extreme) political climate, if you're not left leaning you may have a hard time finding others who share similar views unfortunately, and at least for people my age it can be difficult to express nuanced views.

At the time it was built, LSB was the largest university building in the world. At the start you called the area in front of Sproul "Lower Sproul." It's actually Upper Sproul and the place you ended was Lower Sproul.
There are some nice restaurants on Oxford Street. Also, the BART train station is close by. Students coming in from San Francisco can use this train to get to Berkeley fast.

haha yes California is definitely super lucky! most months in Berkeley it's a chilly/rainy/gray in the 50s-60s which is too cold for my SoCal spirit haha!

I would say Stanford, it has education almost as good as Berkeley and has the sports life and college culture. (Berkeley also has those things! But I just would rather Stanford)

Angelica Song don’t you think the courses in Cal is too difficult and competitive? I think it’s not good for a student to study in such environment....it will damage a student independent thinking and enthusiasm for knowledge
@@pancakebb6384 I agree in the sense that Cal does fall into the trap of becoming a big factory that doesn't always have "liberal arts thinking" as the forefront of their curriculum, but I think a lot of that has to do with the large size of the student body. I'm sure at smaller liberal arts/private colleges, it's easier to get an environment more encouraging of that type of learning (which actually I really wanted). And although Cal lacks that execution (naturally), I do think it's possible to create the learning experience YOU want for yourself at Cal and building your own educational experience, which is kind of what I did! Admittedly, Cal is NOT for everyone and the environment is NOT for everyone, soooo yea hahah

why take undergrad in this school, uc berkeley is only good for PhDs. undergrads are used to send money
the undergrad program here is also very strong! the phD programs here are also great!
