The option is "Battle Style" and you have to set it to "Set" instead of "Switch". Been here since first gen, and only realized it past year. Makes the games so much better.

nick willard I think it's fine to have them but it might have been cool to maybe have it so you could always have them mega-evolved--but only one at a time in your party (so they wouldn't have to mega evolve each time in battle). Also would have been better for me if they had new names for the mega ones instead of just slapping the word "MEGA" on old pokemon needing evolutions to make them stronger. Like if all these mega evolutions were real actual evolutions to the pokemon that maybe even applied to them upon using the mega item, that could be interesting also (and they would de-volve maybe when not having the item).

Crazy to think that ORAS came out 10 years ago. I was 13 when it came out, and when i heard this OST, I immediately fell in love with it. Even 10 years later, i still love it.
Zinnia's story is so brutal I wish they could've left some of it in game. Her best friend was murdered and Zinnia wears her cape as a memento. She was rejected by her people when she tried to take Aster's place. And then Rayquaza impaled her and almost killed her when she was already accepting the fact she was going to have to die when riding Rayquaza into space.
Omega is at the end of the Greek alphabet and Alpha is at the beginning of the Greek alphabet. Omega also means the end, while alpha means the beginning. So, maybe Zinnia’s name is a reference to the games ORAS since her name begins with the last letter in the English alphabet and ends with the first. Not sure if this is commonly known but this kinda blew my mind when I thought of it.

Haven’t heard this song in years and I feel 11 years old again. It’s revived a child-like hopefulness for the future in me. It takes me back to a time when everything didn’t feel like it was set in stone, like there’s still room to grow as a person. The tough and unspoken truth about a childhood spent mostly playing video games/staying online is that you are unconsciously teaching yourself that being sedentary is fine. But being sedentary has unavoidable effects on the body and mind. It's why you feel like an old person even though you are not. The cure for this is to learn to do things, chase after things you want, and accept that the process to obtaining your goals won't always be exciting. Games, tv shows, and internet forums, are great but they can mistakenly teach you that every moment of your waking day needs to be attention-grabbing. That is not the case. I wish you the best of luck in seizing your future and making of it what you will.
Similar position. I got this game for my 10th bday and I am 17 now. Throws me back to when me and a friend I lost contact with played pokemon well into the night without our parents noticing. I even have the mug and still use it! (I used to have the poster as well)

Zinnia: Amazing lore, an awesome team, an awesome theme, an awesome character. ... Too bad you get the Pokemon that literally CREATED A NEW TIER in Gen 6 right before the fight and just one shot her pokemon.
Here's the thing: you don't _have_ to use Rayquaza in the fight, you just have to send it out at some point. If it faints, the fight's over. That's it. That's the only way to lose the fight. All of your pokemon faint, or Rayquaza faints. You don't have to use Rayquaza after the first turn. I let her beat up Rayquaza down to the red zone, then I knocked her entire team out with my level 100 Squirtle. (Yes, I have a level 100 Squirtle... two of them, in fact. One is my mascot, and it's Shiny, with 6 IVs.)
Fr tho she should have gotten her trusty Salamence. Anyone ever noticed that the red crescents on her shirt are meant to be like Mega Salamence's red crescent wings?

Even though Emerald was the best Hoenn game from what I’ve seen, ORAS was still pretty good for what it was, but the story and lore was very good
OR/AS is 6-7 years old..coming back listening to these amazing tracks are something else...such great hype moments of playing and feeling hope surge all around.
I remember building her team for actual use, and I put Rayquaza in the 6th slot in her honour. That team is actually really good, and the mirror match I had with her was insane. I didn’t use Rayquaza for it and I had to work for every inch, since we were the same level with the same moves. It was the best challenge I’ve had in a Pokemon game in a long time.

This battle theme lowkey sounds depressing. Zinnia's story is so sad that it gives me chills. Not only did her best friend get murdered, she also knew that she was gonna have to die when she rode Rayquaza into space.
This is actually a very amazing piece, it's graceful, elegant and just beautiful. Gamefreak you have done it again. There is never a time when Pokemon games have bad music.
It's funny that Wally's Theme and Zinnia's theme sound like they were composed by different people. Wally's Theme Reminded me of Xenoblade. And Zinnia's theme sorta reminded me of Sonic and Final Fantasy.

So, funny story. When I tried to capture Deoxys, I killed him. And restarted. And again. And again. And everytime I had to battle Zinnia, and I got attached to the themesong that much that when I finally captured Deoxys, I was sad, almost crying.
2 shoe. I was not taking any chances man, I wanted Deoxys really badly so I had to use the Master Ball. I had planned to go Shiny Hunting after everything was over and use the Master Ball on a Shiny if I find one, but looks like I'll have to contend with other balls.
0:57 Oh man, this part right here! Absolutely beautiful. In my mind, I think of it as the part of where Zinnia is lost. Lost as in not knowing what she is anymore. All of that nice battle music built up to this beautiful melody. Zinnia said in the Magma/Aqua base, “Who am I? That’s a surprisingly difficult question, I couldn’t become who I was supposed to be, so who does that make me now?” That was so impactful. This part of the music just reminds me of how she truly feels about herself.
The fact that that version was arranged by Shota Kageyama himself (The composer of the song) makes it even better! More than a "self-cover" is like he updated himself his own song. Crazy!

I didn't even play ORAS and this is already my favourite Pokemon theme. This proves that there's reasons for enjoying a game theme other than nostalgia.
It’s funny because she’s a laughable fight with a forced rayquaza at the front of your party. But even if you switch out, it’s only a challenge if you wasted your pp and hp on rayquaza. But this theme sticks out as the pinnacle of the story and of the soundtrack. I love it.
The fact that it exist proves that you can enjoy it not only cuz of nostalgia because this wasnt in the original R/S games at all. So this is brand new.

Zinnia's story is so brutal I wish they could've left some of it in game. Her best friend was murdered and Zinnia wears her cape as a memento. She was rejected by her people when she tried to take Aster's place. And then Rayquaza impaled her and almost killed her when she was already accepting the fact she was going to have to die when riding Rayquaza into space.

So, maybe Zinnia’s name is a reference to the games ORAS since her name begins with the last letter in the English alphabet and ends with the first. Not sure if this is commonly known but this kinda blew my mind when I thought of it.

Similar position. I got this game for my 10th bday and I am 17 now. Throws me back to when me and a friend I lost contact with played pokemon well into the night without our parents noticing. I even have the mug and still use it! (I used to have the poster as well)

Here's the thing: you don't _have_ to use Rayquaza in the fight, you just have to send it out at some point. If it faints, the fight's over. That's it. That's the only way to lose the fight. All of your pokemon faint, or Rayquaza faints. You don't have to use Rayquaza after the first turn. I let her beat up Rayquaza down to the red zone, then I knocked her entire team out with my level 100 Squirtle. (Yes, I have a level 100 Squirtle... two of them, in fact. One is my mascot, and it's Shiny, with 6 IVs.)

I remember building her team for actual use, and I put Rayquaza in the 6th slot in her honour. That team is actually really good, and the mirror match I had with her was insane. I didn’t use Rayquaza for it and I had to work for every inch, since we were the same level with the same moves. It was the best challenge I’ve had in a Pokemon game in a long time.

So, funny story. When I tried to capture Deoxys, I killed him. And restarted. And again. And again. And everytime I had to battle Zinnia, and I got attached to the themesong that much that when I finally captured Deoxys, I was sad, almost crying.

All of that nice battle music built up to this beautiful melody. Zinnia said in the Magma/Aqua base, “Who am I? That’s a surprisingly difficult question, I couldn’t become who I was supposed to be, so who does that make me now?” That was so impactful. This part of the music just reminds me of how she truly feels about herself.

It’s funny because she’s a laughable fight with a forced rayquaza at the front of your party. But even if you switch out, it’s only a challenge if you wasted your pp and hp on rayquaza. But this theme sticks out as the pinnacle of the story and of the soundtrack. I love it.
The fact that it exist proves that you can enjoy it not only cuz of nostalgia because this wasnt in the original R/S games at all. So this is brand new.

You know, looking back it's kinda funny. The out of nowhere character from the out of nowhere delta episode ended up having the out of nowhere amazing boss theme. Seriously, everything in the Delta episode was unexpected :D

You can tell the composer put his absolute heart and soul into this song, I think this is where the music of this franchise peaked, I haven’t heard anything else since then come close to this song, this is some Game of Thrones level composition right here.
