Marc has a great style. I just set up another mixing/mastering station in my studio using an SSL Big Six, Fusion, Bus+, UC1 and UF8. I use Reaper as my DAW. Everything works well together - a happy family of sound.
I ran a bounced SFX (Braaams) through the 4KB and ingited the mic pre. And this is one of those moments in a sound designers journey where he's taking back to the sound of his Father's SSL 4000 in 1996. That SSL fuzz.
Conclusion - whether now or 10 years ago - Marc has teh best hair among mixers... j/k the plugin is amazing, and a wonderful value keeper for my UC1 and UF8. I have the same setup as Marc UC1/UF8 and a ridiculously close and gigantic true 4 K monitor ....
I REALLY love the EQ on this plugin, but I find the compressor really hard to use. Whereas on the NCS2 I find that compressor extremely easy to use, and snappy. I'd love something that is in between the 4kb and the 9000 sound...you know, like a really good G, one that blows the other ones out of the water ;)

Hey SSL folks - these plugins are amazing, especially in combination with the hardware, but it'd be killer if the controls were also optimized for mouse and keyboard users a tiny bit better. Think THIS meets Pro-Q3. A digital EQ display (with an optional, toggleable spectrum analyzer) where you can easily grab one (or more) band(s) and adjust the frequency, gain, and Q all at the same time. Reason's SSL 9000k desk emulation pretty much does that, where you click a button to get the digital display and all the moves you do in there correspond to the knobs on the desk. Edit: oh wait, that's subscription only...
Hi. Can you sweep 2 knobs at once with that controller like you would on analog console, rather than just one knob control at a time. That would be a deal breaker if you can't

I have never used a channel strip plugin that combines multiple sections and I'm a little confused, how does the routing go with inserts and sends? Can you still insert between eq and dynamics, or filters and pre-eq? Can you send post eq and pre dynamics? etc.. Do the inserts happen in the 360 software, is that what I'm seeing in the video above, or is that the DAW view? I'll be working with Cubase. Sometimes need to ask the stupid questions ay... but I've watched quite a few vids and checked the manual and i just didn't see this mentioned yet. Thanks if someone can answer.

Thanks, Love your videos Marc!.... But it's annoying (as hell) that SSL won't sell the 4k B plugin outside of their subscription model. I don't need or want the rest of the "complete" plugins. There are plenty of other plugins to get "character". - Feels a lot like buying a Tesla and having to pay a subscription to use the touch screen. (IMO plugin subscriptions are one of the biggest wastes of money for a studio).

The SSL 360 process is now utilizing 18-20% of my CPU when doing nothing. Nothing open. Intermittently causing system to hang/hiccup. This is on an M1 Mac Mini 16 GB RAM. Is there a way to downgrade?
He naturally starts to navigate the plugins with his mouse without realising. Unnecessary hardware to control only two plugins when you already own a mouse is a total waste of studio space imo.

here is my idea to ssl make a DAW and make an hardware that works with the daw ,now the hardware is an ssl rack modules that you can add on to , to increase number of inputs and outputs, you already have the control surface . the reason for this is not everyone can afford an ssl duality etc . this will allow you to tap into the market
I don`t understand you. You basically want SSL to make a (pro-)product with really the same functionality as the Matrix, but for a price that EVERYONE can afford. Well thats pretty ridicolous….Every product in the world has a price tag attached to it, and there is ALWAYS someone who think it is too expensive. Which in turn really just means that the product was never meant for EVERYBODY, but only for those willing(or able)to pay the price, and for the ones who really needs it, which normally turn out to be the professional marked. Conclusion: If you do audio for a living, you can probably justify the price of the tools you`re using to get the job done. As your channel logo says: «Stop wishing. Start Doing!»

Just an update now that the new SSL 360 link has been released. The integration with a touch screen monitor has finally reached it's max potential. I'd advise you to invest in a 27 inch touch screen monitor and host the 360 on there. As good as working on a console
