I commented on a recent video you posted about how I appreciate that you are just the two of you homesteading, because it's more relatable to me that most RUclips homesteaders who have like 3 kids. Another thing I find wonderful and relatable about you is the lack of gender rolls in your relationship, it looks far more like my real life than most RUclips homesteaders, where the woman is inside, cooking and homeschooling, and the man is outside working the farm and do the animal chores, and the wife and kids jsut come out to work the garden or sometimes milk a cow or goat. Its wonderful that Eric makes cinnamon rolls and Ariel goes hunting! This s how the majority of people actually are in this day and age, I feel!
I agree. I think part of the gender inflexible roles on some channels are because of religion. I'm not judging it, just saying that I think that it is how some people choose to live.

I love how you guys cook together and share all the work. I also love how you never try to push your ideas about living on to everyone else, but just show this is the way you do it--and I truly don't think you judge anyone for living differently.
Hi guys. One trick you might want to try with bell peppers is to freeze them hard in a unsealed baggie for one day. Then seal them quickly from air, don't let them thaw any. This seem s to keep them crisper when you put them out to use them. It might be because the unsealed freezing dries the cells out a little so they don't break so much during the regular freezing process, so not turning to mush when thawed. I do this for mine because I usually just cook for my self.
Little trick for the cornbread especially if you like a crisper outer shell. Heat your skillet in the oven as its prepared heating or on the stove top and when you pour the batter in it will sizzle then throw in oven.
I just want to say how inspired I am by you guys! We live in a city but we have been spending the last year growing our own veggies and buying dairy and meat from local farms. We also make lasagne almost the same way. However, instead of moose, we use kangaroo. We don't have moose in Australia but there's more kangaroos than people. Thank you for your videos.
@Deplorable MN, kangaroo meat is very low in fat so it shouldn't be cooked on a high and fast flame. (Otherwise, it's like eating an old boot). Usually slow cooking brings out the best with roo meat. However, when minced you can overcome this challenge. (So the lasagne can be cooked as normal). When stewed slowly the meat does become quite tender. Whatever veggies go well with a beef stew can also be used with kangaroo meat. Carrots, potatoes and peas are personal favourites. I prefer a rustic and crusty home made sour dough loaf of bread with either types of stew.
Well now, I have to whip something up for myself. The fact that you both can toss it, substitute what you lack makes it very interesting.
