Jedward have let themselves go!!!
I never realised Jedward had anything to let go 😂
😂😂😂
Thank you CONOR 👍👌
Brilliant chat & discussion with BROWNIE about the stadium 👌👍
It was much needed & perfect coming from BROWNIE who actually goes there week in week out 👍👌🙏
Great to see you two in the same room together!
My best match day experiences used to be a few pints in the Town Hall Taps or the Whip, catch the bus under the railway bridge to the ground arriving about 15 mins before kick off, pay ten Bob at the turnstiles and force your way up the stairs to the back of the Kop and filter downwards a bit. This was usually followed by watching us win. Simples.!
Brownie always a star and so much knowledge . Good to observe the increased frequency of Brownie. Excellent website love the target merch!
Brownie spot on with everything. One club city there’s no doubt you should have a big fan base. One of the largest cities in England too. I come from a city where we have another club about 200 yards away. We share two clubs and still have a phenomenal support. All relative. European cup wins and everything we’ve witnessed at the world famous city ground. This is good news for your club.
include safe standing at both ends ... i always hated sitting down and no one does anyway ... announcement now is to get everything in place so that if we get promoted this season they can start development in may
Great content fellas. Thank you.
There’s a principle in business/management called ‘dressing for your next job’ 👍
They can do the same as they did with the old Scratching shed… Move the North stand more to the north, and then move the pitch a little, then u don’t have to worry about expanding the south stand…
I see it as a statement of intent and a good thing... the lack of blueprints etc may simply be a reflection of the fact they know they need to do it right, and consult with fans etc etc. As Brownie just made clear, we're a club whose stadium needs some particular nuance to maintain it's atmosphere.
Don’t worry about the £50 quid a ticket more the merrier if you ask me, just write it off as a business expense but get your point there will be an increase with an expansion of the ground for sure.
St James Park is an architectural absurdity, nice view of the city up in those stands but watching football in it is grim. Elland Road has huge advantages in the fact that there's so much land space, barring the south stand end. you could shift the pitch position back to the kop end to accommodate the problems posed by doing the south stand, I'm sure that'll be a consideration? Or, like Brownie says, road tunnelled underneath.
As much as the expansion is great, we will not fill it out every week which will create a less tense tight atmosphere. I think that’s the main attraction of ER is that it’s compact and always full
We're all entitled to our opinions, but unless we are replacing old traditional fittings with new restrospective looking fittings it would be a wasted opportunity and money not to modernise to some extent. Getting it right now ensures a decent future or us getting left behind if not
Both look like a Bros tribute act 😂👍🏼
Capital costs not counted for psr but interest payments are
David 'No Frills' Brown
Where did you get the fred perry
I remember when there was a mound then it was filled in.
You can’t stay stuck in the 90’s stadium wise. It has to be done but probably in phases. Once it’s modernised you get more income from boxing, gigs, rugby league semi finals etc.
Sorry guys late today ..but like the idea which Browny came up with about Athletico Madrid building their stand over the road.. but would that block off The Peacock or not because that is right over the road.. MOD
Just an idea, could they connect Elland Road to the road that goes behind the kop? Then they would be able to expand the South Stand.
i thought this. there's so much space behind the kop, will they shift back slightly because that South Stand end will be problematic with the road so close?
Goodison park knew villa park werent too far from the station 😂
someone one on the council has had more backhanders than a tennis match to sighn of on this lol
They will adopt a phased approach West stand immediately then wait on prem for North stand phase.
Construction won't start until we are in the Prem. Hopefully plans will be submitted before the end of the season but it sounds like they haven't appointed an architect yet so plans could still be a while off.
Brownie wot a comment south stand like a zoo on match day love love it best stand 😂 what a lad brownie is,
If this all goes ahead and corporate added to the west stand, I think they should get rid of the corporate in the south and fill it back with normal seating
Leeds is about watching the football not the cocktail flavours. Agree with Brownie.
(Just to clarify. The new Atletico Madrid stadium, the Metropolitano, is a purpose built bowl. The road under the stand was at the old Vicente Calderon. That was in a proper blue collar part of town. I lived near them and followed Atletico, not posh Real)
Red bull stadium coming soon
@oneleedsfanchannel1919 Where’s the Reddit video gone?
South stand could have gone over the road and had bars ect under it.
LIke that idea but The Peacock is there ????
For now I'd rip the boxes out at the top of the south stand and put 2,000 extra seats there like it was in the 80s
In theory they could move the road but if they were going to go to that expense they may as well build a new stadium. I think they will build up the west and north stands and refurbish the south.
53 thousand not enough we got bigger support than that
It would be the 7th biggest in england , that's pretty good
The support is there only if the club is successful hang around the Championship for years your looking at crowds between 17-25,000 in the 80s we were averaging 13-15,000 I've been in Elland Road with only just over 8,000 for a league game in 84 during the Bates era we only had 11-12,000 S/T holders with only around 4,000 with an LS postcode.
I don't think mid week is all sold out.
Arsenal had a much lower budget after completing Emirates
It can't be contingent on being in the PL because such an expansion would take years and, obviously, there is no guarantee of staying up. Expanding from 37 to 53 thousand will be very expensive and is a huge commitment/gamble for the owners. I don't know if Leeds fans realise how much it will cost - Liverpool expanded Anfield from 48 to 61 thousand at a cost of 180 million. You are looking to add another 3 thousand over that when building costs have shot up massively. I hope you do it, but it's one hell of an undertaking without super rich owners.
If you wait until your in the PL you might get relegated with a half built stadium. Just get it done.
