I just watched Darkside of the Ring. I don't condone violence, but I understand someone wanting to hit John Stossel. He came across as so completely unlikeable. When he was younger doing his "investigative journaling" and older in this Darkside interview, in both cases he was unlikeable. I could understand why someone would want to smack him. You can tell he was humiliated after being bitch slapped and slinking away like a coward. He said his pain went away when he got paid, but you can tell he's still holding onto it and that's why his parting words to Schultz was "F you". His whole expose was unnecessary. They said they did a poll and 1/3 of the people thought it was real....so MOST people knew it wasn't, but he still felt the need to do this instead of just letting those people enjoy themselves. It's almost like he had a personal vendetta or grudge against professional wrestling and that's why he chose to go after it, not because they were deceiving people, but because of his own personal grudge.

Abe Lincoln should of freed the pro wrestlers before he freed the blacks. Just saying.

Jim cornette fancies himself a wrestling historian, and takes the piss outta anyone he thinks exposes the business. Yet in Lynn Denton's book, "Grappler: memoirs of a masked madman" there is a chapter about how he was taken out to a barn and made to wrestle a broomstick in a match he lost. Thats how he proved to his trainer that he was ready to be in front of a crowd. Corny has never complained once.

Your wrong, you can't slap someone for asking a question, especially today. And I always thought it was unprofessional of Dr D to do this someone just asking a question everyone was thinking. And back then it was being sold as real and that's why the question needed to be asked. The question still gets asked today and wrestlers don't slap people. You can't assault someone for expressing freedom of press and speech.

I left watching this with a feeling of disgust for David Schultz. I didn't like him before this and I found him grotesque after it. He's a thug. An animal. Dave Bautista should hand over his nickname to this savage here. The guy is not contrite or apologetic. Even in 2020, he's still bitching about Eddie Mansfield and John Stossel for "exposing the business" but watched his mouth when it came to Vince doing the same only a few years later in the 80s. And a lot of has-been wrestlers do this where they're more fervent in their criticism for other wrestlers and outsiders than they are for Vince or the company. And there's a reason for that.

    What an idiot Schultz was!
Using REAL violence over something that ISN'T REAL?
Yes, they had that mentality drummed in to them of "protecting the business", but did Sylvester Stallone ever hit someone for saying that Rocky Balboa wasn't a REAL Boxer, or did Sean Bean ever hit someone for saying that Ed Stark wasn't a REAL Lord in Game Of Thrones?
As Wrestling obsessed as I am, it breaks down pretty quickly when you look at it objectively and apply real world logic!

Cause calling movies fake didn't all most kill the business, people jobs was on the line.

Schultz was dumb for doing what he did either way. If you hit someone you usually go to jail, its assault. What did Schultz think would happen?
